  • This paper describes three methods for the estimation of the impulse reponse in an indoor acoustic transfer system which rather has long reverberation time by the cross spectrum. The first method, which is the conventional one, will use the white noise as the source signal. Therefore, the very long time window data and numerous number of DFT are necessary for this estimation. The second method has been disigned in order to shorten the length of time window of the first method by using a burst of noise as the source signal. The third method which will be suggested in this paper uses too types of definite signal with short duration time of the source signal. According to the view point of computation capacity, and estimation accuracy of the impulse response, the compared experimental results show that the third method will be better than the others.

  • This paper is a study on the design of adptive filter for QRS complex detection. We propose a simple adaptive algorithm to increase capability of noise cancelation in QRS complex detection with two stage adaptive filter. At the first stage, background noise is removed and at the next stage, only spectrum of QRS complex components is passed. Two adaptive filters can afford to keep track of the changes of both noise and QRS complex. Each adaptive filter consists of prediction error filter and FIR filter The impulse response of FIR filter uses coefficients of prediction error filter. The detection rates for 105 and 108 of MIT/BIH data base were 99.3% and 97.4% respectively.

  • This paper proposes an orthogonal reception structure for OS/SS communication with time-shifted m-sequences, and compares the performances of the proposed and conventional receiver. This structure provides two important characteristics to reference user signal with not only increment of auto-correlation value but also cancel of the cross-correlation value out to zero between the reference user and other user signals. In addition, the structure can be easily implemented with the conventional receiver adding an additional integrator path in parallel and an adder that sums the conventional path output and the new path output signal. Hence, the proposed structure can be applied for channel impulse response measurement, and efficiently used for multi-user interference signal cancellation and channel capacity increment by flexible structural inter-working operation, connection or disconnection, of the new path to conventional receiver structure.

  • There are many researches to identify the rigid body properties from the mass-line obtained by impact hammer testing. The correct rigid body properties of the structure may be estimated if the mass-line of the structure could be obtained exactly. When the structure is mounted by elastic materials, the mass-line cannot be read correctly from the impulse response spectrum. The reason is due to the effects of rigid body modes of mounted structure. In this paper, the effects of rigid body modes of mounted structure to the mass-line are discussed and the method to remove these effects is also presented.

  • In this paper, the lateral motions of a ship in the time domain are treated by applying the Impulse Response Function Technique. The acceleration, and displacement of a ship in the time domain are needed for the purpose of such automatic controls as the fire control system and the auto-pilot of ocean-going vessels, etc. The response Amplitude Operators of a ship are calculated by the Strip Method of Salvesen-Tuck-Faltinsen, and the Pierson-Moskowitz Spectrum multiplied by spreading function is used to represent the short crested ocean waves. The ocean wave elevations in the time domain are simulated according to the Method of Borgman. Finally the rudder effect is considered by simply adding the force and moment due to the rudder to the wave exciting force. And the results of lateral motions with and without rudder are shown.

  • This paper describes a spread-spectrum clock generation method by utilizing a ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ digital PLL (DPLL) which is solely based on binary phase detection and does not require a linear time-to-digital converter (TDC) or other linear digital-to-time converter (DTC) circuitry. A 1-bit high-order ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ modulator and a hybrid finite-impulse response (FIR) filter are employed to mitigate the phase-folding problem caused by the nonlinearity of the bang-bang phase detector (BBPD). The ${\Delta}{\Sigma}$ DPLL employs a two-point modulation technique to further enhance linearity at the turning point of a triangular modulation profile. We also show that the two-point modulation is useful for the BBPLL to improve the spread-spectrum performance by suppressing the frequency deviation at the input of the BBPD, thus reducing the peak phase deviation. Based on the proposed architecture, a 3.2 GHz spread-spectrum clock generator (SSCG) is implemented in 65 nm CMOS. Experimental results show that the proposed SSCG achieves peak power reductions of 18.5 dB and 11 dB with 10 kHz and 100 kHz resolution bandwidths respectively, consuming 6.34 mW from a 1 V supply.

  • Roughness of a road is an important parameter which not only indicates vehicle's vibration and noise, but it is also related to the contact force of the tire which is induced by tire's deformation and vibration. Since tire noise indeed comes from this deformation and vibration, the estimation of the force is the key factor fur the reduction of tire noise. Because of the difficulty of directly measuring the contact force, the indirect estimation is enforced from the vibration signature measured on the tire support. This study suggests the "inverse filtering" technique well known in modern digital signal processing, so as to reform the tire contact force from monitored vibration signals.

  • The dynamic responses of a telescope loaded on an STSAT-3 satellite were analyzed, and environmental tests were conducted to verify the reliability of the design. The space use telescope COMIS (compact imaging spectrometer) is a major payload of the STSAT-3 launched on November 21, 2013. Vibration responses such as the acceleration, displacement, and velocity with respect to random vibration and shock impulse inputs were obtained based on theoretical fundamentals in conjunction with finite element analysis. The main focus of this study was on developing technology for accurate and/or favorable modeling and analysis of the structure and fitting the results to that of experiments. Cutting-edge technology for manipulating the vibrations of a space use telescope is suggested.
