  • Recently, construction industry has been magnified while various cooperative relationship makes steady process. So importance of management during construction is gathering strength. Therefore, we need systematic management gradually. But almost management of construction industry that performs these day is focused on construction phase not design phase. The purpose of the present study is to find the effective way of design management with enhancing the process of design phase.

A Survey on Residential Lighting Environment (주택 조명환경의 실태 연구)

  • The purpose of this survey is to find out the problems in lighting conditions of Korean residence and bring up the improvement direction. 120 households were chosen at random among independent house and apartment house in Taejon for this survey.The results are as follows; 1) The illumination of apartment houses are 2/3 of the recommended illuminalion and that of Independent houses are 1/2 of the recommended. Thus, apartment houses have better lighting condition. 2) 7he average illumination level is improving, but it still does not reach the recommended level. Therefore, the considerable plan to maintain proper lighting levels and suit to the 1;ghting purposes is required.

  • Construction safety education plays role to provide necessary skills to workers for working safely. It is also important safety measure be used efficiently without any restriction to construction accident prevention. On this study, to develop effective education contents, we analyzed propriety of education contents used in construction sites, drew problem, and suggested the improvement direction.

Development of an Optical Waveguide Loss Measuring System using an Rectangular Glass Probe

  • The use of a glass-plate probe of rectangular shape is proposed for the measurement of transmission loss in optical waveguides. The light-collecting window is of a thin, rectangular shape and is perpendicular to the light streak, while the conventional fiberglass probe has a small circular face. This transversely elongated form results in a grate improvement of mechanical tolerance for the probe movement in the vortical as well as in the transverse direction. A theoretical investigation also presents a reasonable agreement with the experiments.

  • A digital RDA(Retrodirective Antenna) system is a retransmit system that received signal without prior information turn back by estimated phase of the signal to received direction. The RDA can decrease consumption of power by increase of directivity because signal concentrates on received direction compare to omni-direction antenna which transmit power all direction. Generally, the RDA is known to show better performance than the single-antenna system in multi-path environment. However, the RDA occurs performance degradation in serious ISI channel. In this paper, to solve this problem, we propose retrodirective antenna combined with turbo equalizer combined which can compensate serious ISI channel, we increase the BER performance through proposed retrodirective antenna combined with turbo equalizer in serious ISI channel.

A experimental Study on the Reinforced Coil Development for the Efficiency Improvement of a Single Phase Induction Motor (단상유도전동기의 효율 개선을 위한 강화코일 개발에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The efficiency of system with a built-in coil is improved as (1) the total coil flux increases, (2) the space distribution of coil flux is closer to the sinusoidal wave and (3) the direction of coil flux flow becomes more inherent with the original direction at the same condition. Every turn RC(Reinforced Coil) is composed of OC having original region and two IC's strengthening bidirectionally the inner part flux in order to maintain the symmetry with origin. This way we will realize the inherent flux direction and the sinusoidal closeness as well. Accordingly RC type is obtained by connecting the pure OC's and RC's in just turns to be closer to sinusoidal flux wave. We proved experimentally the usefulness of reinforced coil to improve the efficiency of SPIM.

Direction Sensor Design for Reducing Perforation Risk in Endoscopy (천공부작용 해소용 내시경 Direction Sensor 설계)

  • Due to the development of endoscopic technology, endoscopic diagnosis and procedures have been actively performed. However, due to the increase in colorectal cancer and the effect of government's early cancer screening project, the number of endoscopic diagnosis and procedures has increased, thus medical accidents such as perforation and bleeding are increasing. Therefore, efforts to reduce such medical accidents are needed. In this paper, we propose a method to provide the direction information of the endoscope and the force applied to the probe in real time. We also propose and evaluate an interpolated complementary filter considering the very slow movement of the endoscope probe. The proposed interpolated complementary filter showed 34.6% and 27.6% performance improvement. The expected user interface for applying the proposed method to the endoscopic system is also presented. This shows that the proposed method is applicable to endoscopy system.

Performance analysis of DOA estimation and beamforming in 3-dimensional array antenna for GPS receiver (GPS 수신기를 위한 3 차원 배열 안테나의 도래각 추정 및 빔 형성 성능 분석)

  • This paper deals with the performance analysis of 3-dimensional array antenna by DOA estimation and beamforming in GPS receiver for performance improvement by interference elimination. The array antenna in GPS receiver can improve the system performance by estimating DOA of arriving signal direction, making the main beam for desired direction and elimate the jammer signal by nulling while keeping the GPS signal direction by spatial filtering. In this paper, we propose five types of 3-dimensional array antenna and analyze the estimation error via MUSIC algorithm which is used for the estimation of DOA of arrived signal and beamforming performance. In analyzing DOA performance, we measure DOA estimation error, while in analyzing beamformig performance, we measure BER. In beamforming performance analyzing, we use various jammer power and the existence of GPS signal and angle spread. By performing through the computer simulation, Curved (B) 7-element antenna in proposed 3-dimensional array antenna exhibits the superior performance in the DOA estimation, estimation error, BER characteristic and angle spread compared to the rest four array antenna types.
