Purpose : The purpose of this study was to compare the marginal fit of monolithic zirconia restorations fabricated form the conventional and the digital impression technique. Materials and methods : Ten patients were restored with monolithic zirconia restorations fabricated from the digital and the conventional impression technique. Before definitive insertion, silicone replicas were produced from all twenty crowns. The silicone replicas were cut in three sections; each section was evaluated at two points. The measurement was carried out by using a measuring microscope (Olympus BX 51) and I-Solution. Data from the silicone replica scores were analyzed by Shapiro-Wilk test for normal distribution and the t-test for equality of two population's mean. All tests were performed with ${\alpha}-level$ of 0.05. Results : The average marginal gaps of monolithic zirconia restorations were $133.81{\pm}36.46{\mu}m$ for the conventional impression technique, $90.07{\pm}9.47{\mu}m$ for the digital impression technique. No statistical differences were found between the two impression techniques Conclusion : Both prostheses presented clinically acceptable results with comparing the marginal fit.
Nineteen stimulus photograghs varied in hue and color scheme of one clothing style of Korean dress worn by a female were used to investigate the effect of color color scheme and structure on impression formation for Korean dress. Subjects were 77 male and 86 female undergraduate and graduate students. The stimuli c9onsisted of two sets(cool and warm) of four similar color schemes two sets (cool and warm in Chima color) of five contrasting color schemes and one extra stimulus triad 3 hue base. Structures were de-fined by color schemes of Kit.Korum toward the color schemes of Jokori and Chima. Stimu-lus photogragh selected from Korean dress fashion magazines was managed and varied in hues and color schemes to Kit Korum Jokori and Chima according to Korean Standard Color through scanning and Adobe photoshop 3.0 program and then pictured through slide printer(HR-6000). Each subject assessed 19 stimulus color photographs with incorporated 7 point semantic differential response scale. The data were analyzed by frequency mean factor analysis t-test ANOVA and Scheffe test. Results indicate impression ofrmations are af-fected by clothing cues. 1) Four factors emerged to account for dimensional structure of impressions of female features on Korean dress. These four factors were titled as(1) preference.evaluation (2) individuality.attention (3) youth and (4) friendshio. The preference.evaluation factor was the largest including eleven adjectives and accounting for 29.62% of the variances. 2) Almost every clothing cue(color, color scheme, structure) had some effects on im-pressions formed But the color of Chima did not form the effects on impression of prefer-ence.evaluation factor. The effect of related color scheme was the most influential clothing cue on impressions of preference.evalation factor and friendship factor whereas the ef-fect of contrasting color scheme was the most influential clothing cue on impressions of indi-viduality.attention factor and youth factor. The effect of cool color of Chima was the most influential clothing cue on impression of indi-viduality.attention factor whereas the effect of warm color of Chima was the most influen-tial clothing cue on impressions of youth factor and friendship factor. The effect of Jokori/Chima.Kit.Korum structure was the most influential clothing cue on impressions of pref-erence.evaluation factor and youth factor whereas the effect of Kit.Korum/Jokori.Chima structure was the most influential clothing cue on impressions of individuality.attention factor and friendship factor. 3) The interaction effects were appeared among clothing cues. Significant interaction effects between color schemes(similar and contrasting) and colors of Chima(cool and warm were appeared on impressions of prefer-ence.evaluation factor imdividuality.atten-tion factor and friendship factor, Significant interaction effects between color schemes (similar and contrasting) and structures (Jokori.Chima.Kit.Korum; Jokori.Kit.Koru-m/Chima;Jokori/Chima.Kit.Korum;Kit.Korum/Jokori.Chima) were appeared on impressions of preference.evaluation factor youth factor and friendship factor. Signifi-cant interaction effects between colors(cool and warm) and structures were appeared on impressions of individuality.attention factor youth factor and friendship factor. Sighifi-cant interaction effects between colors(cool and warm) and structures were appeared on impressions of individuality.attention factor youth factor and friendship factor. Significant interaction effects among clothing cues(color color schemes and structures) were appeared on all impression factors. The friendship factor was the most friquently affected impression factor by interaction effects among clothing cues. In summary the clothing was used as nonverbal cues in the effect on impression for-mation of female dressed in Korean dress. it concluded that color schemes worked as cen-tral traits and colors of Chima and structures worked as peripheral traits in the formation of impression of the female clothed in Korean dress. hence organizing our impressions with respect to the parts of the Korean dress in re-lation to the whole holistic perceptual pro-cess Gestalt approach was used and supported.
This paper describes study of design specifications of restaurant/cafe signboard for new generation. Signboard is an important element in restaurant/cafe, especially for sensitive new generation, that affects image of and first impression on it. The design elements of a signboard that were chosen for analysis were background color, lettering, and letter color, which were found to have strong influences on impression of signboard in questionnaire survey. Using different combination of these design elements, fifteen samples were created for subjective evaluation. 30 pairs of adjectives which were shown to be related to signboard significantly in the first evaluation were used by fifteen subjects, twelve men and three women. Subjective evaluations were carried out by semantic differential methods, and then analyzed by using multivariate analyses. Among three design elements, the background color affected impression of signboard most significantly. The relationships between design elements (item/category) and subjective impressions were suggested using quantification theory I, which could be used as design guidelines when designing restaurant/cafe signboard with specific human sensibility ergonomic characteristics.
is designed to study the college women's desirable clothing behavior in campus, and to find out the difference in person perception according to appropriate or inappropriate clothing. Detailed object is to find out the following differences according to appropriate and inappropriate clothing in campus: 1) formation of impression 2) inference of value. Addi\ulcorner tionally the difference in person perception according to major, grade and preference group are studied. For data collection, 460 college women who are attending Ewha Woman's University are included, and convenience sampling method is used. Frequency, percentage, mean, factor analysis, t-test, ANDV A. duncan test, correspondent analysis are used for data analysis. The result are as follows: 1) Wearer's impression is devided into four factors: appearence evaluation, personality evaluation, ability and activity. 2) There are significant differences in impression formation and value inference according to situational appropriateness. 3) There are significant differences in person perception according to major, grade and preference group.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study compared to evaluation of repeatability of scanning abutment tooth stone model and impression applied CAD/CAM ISO standard in dentistry. Methods: To evaluate repeatability of scanning abutment tooth stone model, were repeatedly scanned to obtain 11 data via 3D stereolithography (STL) files. 10 data (STL files) were compared with the first 3D data (STL file), and the error sizes were measured by using 3D superimposing software(n=10). Also, the repeatability of scanning abutment tooth impression was evaluated with the same procedure. Independent t test was performed to evaluate the repeatability of scanning abutment tooth stone model versus impression through root mean square(RMS) and standard deviation(SD)(${\alpha}=0.05$). Results: $RMS{\pm}SD$ with regard to repeatability were $14.7{\pm}2.5{\mu}m$, $17.1{\pm}4.0{\mu}m$, respectively, with scanning abutment tooth stone model and impression(p=0.129). Conclusion: This study results showed a little different repeatability of scanning abutment tooth stone model and impression applied CAD/CAM ISO standard in dentistry, will suggest futures good studies and clinical advantages.
The purposes of the study were 1) to extend the cognitive categorization theory in an attempt to explain the of garment category, fashionability, and wearer's body types on impression formation, and 2) to find out structures of wearer's impressional dimension and wearer's professional image. The research included a quasi-experiment and survey. The experimental design was a $2^{3}$full factorial design of 3 independent variables. The experimental materials developed for the study were a set of stimuli and a response scale. The stimuli consisted of 8 drawings made by 3 independent variables (garment category, fashion level, wearer's body type). Result were as follows: 1) Garment category, fashionability and wearer's body type had significant effects on impression of the 5 factors-evaluation, potency, appearance, sociability and good-bad, with exception of wearer's body type which was nonsignificant to the potency factor. 2) Garment category was most effective on the evaluation and the potency. However wearer's body type was most effect on the appearance factor and fashionability variable was most effective on the good-bad factor. It was conclued that the results supported the cognitive categorization theory on impression formation and a cognitive categorization hypothesis of clothes.
Purpose: The purpose of the study was a quantitative evaluation of common errors in digital impression procedure using CEREC$^{(R)}$ AC system. Methods: Two-hundreds digital impression data comprising 174 inlays, 26 onlays by CEREC$^{(R)}$ AC in-office CAD/CAM system were obtained from a dental clinic. One evaluator assessed errors of the digital impression data and divided into five categories of errors: inappropriate scanner positioning (ISP), improper handling with a scanner (IHS), irregular powder arrangement (IPA), improper cavity preparation (ICP), and insufficient scanned data (ISD). Results: The most common errors were IPA(21%), and ISP and ISD were followed by 17% respectively. IHS was found in 14.5% of all digital impression data. ICP comprising only 6.5% was the rarest. Conclusion: Most errors were due to inaccurate manipulation with an intraoral scanner or improper cavity preparation for scanning. A deliberate manipulation to prevent common errors mentioned may deliver an optimal result in the digital impression procedure.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of uniform's color and motif on nurse's impression formation. The experimental design was 5×3×2(uniform color×motif ×perceiver's gender) factorial design with a between-subjects design. The experimental materials developed for the study were a set of stimuli and a response scale. The subjects were 738 undergraduate students of Daejon and Chungnam province. The SPSS package was used for data analysis which includes factor analysis, two-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test, and Cronbach's α to measure the reliability. Results were as follows; The image or the stimulus was consisted of the 4 different dimensions(evaluation, sociability, ability, potency). All the independent variables showed some significant impression effects on selected dimensions. The motif and perceiver's gender also showed significant main effects as well as some interaction effects with the color variable on some selected impression dimension and the impression effects of the three variables in relationship to perceiving nurses' images. On a conclusion, these results supported the Gestalt theory.
We developed a facial image generating technique that can manipulate facial impressions. The present study applied this impression transferring method to higher-order impressions such as "elegance" or "attractiveness" and confirmed the psychological validity of this method using the semantic differential method. Subsequently, we applied this method to two types of cognitive experiments. First, we examined the contributions of texture and shape on the facial impressions by using those face images for which the impressions have already been quantitatively manipulated based on this method. Second, we used such stimuli to examine the effect of facial impressions and attractiveness on the "mere exposure effect." Thus, we concluded that the impression transfer vector method is an effective tool to quantitatively manipulate the facial impressions in various cognitive studies.
Opera house acoustics were subjectively evaluated in order to investigate the effect of performance stage views on the audience's perception of the seat acoustics in an opera house. Nine seats from an existing opera house were selected for the auditory and/or visual experiments according to seating area distribution and acoustical parameters such as RT and $1-IACC_{E3}$. The recorded music, convolved from the impulse response, was presented with and without visual images of the stage. Subjects were asked to assess the auditory/visual descriptors and overall impression of the music at each seat. The results showed that good visual input helps produce a favorable impression of the acoustics, but a limited view degrades acoustical impression. The acoustical parameters in the tested seats were also investigated to find the relationship between the acoustical parameters and the visual/sound impression.
