Fruits of Rubus coreanum (Korean name: Bog-bun-ja) have been used in oriental traditional medicine as the remedies for impotence, pollution, premature ejaculation and frequency of urination etc. It is known to have phenolic compounds as an astringent. By means of chromatographic methods, four hydrolyzable tannins were isolated from the fruits of R. coreanum. The structures of these compounds were established as gallic acid, 2,3(S)-HHDP-D-glucopyranose, sanguiin H-4 and sanguiin H-6 on the basis of physicochemical and spectroscopic evidences.

Realizing the scope of utilizing by-products of silk cocoons by applying appropriate methods is the immediate crave to optimize returns. The nutritive value of pupae suits for human diet, feed for poultry, carps, fish, rabbits, piggery and dogs. The pupal skin, fat, oil, cocoon palade have applications in oleo chemical, soap, glycerin, cosmetic, artificial fibres, membranes and n-triacontanol isolation. The pupal proteins Chitin, Shinki fibroin, Serrapeptidase, glucosamine are latent precursors of post surgical, anti-carcinogenic, anti-inflammative, anti-bacterial, anti-histaminic, gastric, hepatitis, pancreatitis, leukocytopenia, neurological, ophthalmic, blood pressure, cardiac and diabetic medicines and for preparation of vitamins A, E and K. The silk and its proteins sericin and fibroin are potentially used for wound healing, diabetes, impotence, sinusitis, arthritis, edema, cystitis, epididymitis, tissue regeneration, cancer, post-surgical trauma and used as anti-oxidatives, bio-adhesives, ultra violet screens and bio-active textiles. The waste cocoons can be used in making art crafts like garlands, carpets, overcoats, decoratives and greeting cards. The in-depth research towards utility optimization and make aware this reality to sericulturists, reelers, weavers, traders, entrepreneurs, policy makers etc., is the upright want of the today's Sericulture industry.

A direct connection between certain lifestyle factors and an increased risk of cancer has already been established. Despite well-documented associations, controversial messages on causes of cancer often appear without taking into consideration their impact on the general population. While mainstream coverage of cancer research is clearly welcome, consideration must be given to the risk of transmitting provocative messages with serious negative consequences for cancer research and public health. We must avoid becoming a breeding ground for the misinterpretation of scientific information. Polemical results can stimulate scientific research and progress, but controversial messages encourage confusion and impotence in an increasingly disoriented population. The correct communication of health messages is at least as important as research on risk factors.

Clinical study on one case of climacteric syndrome induced hysterectomy climacteric syndrome is symptoms of physical, mental, physiological in menopausal period. Importance of treatment of climacteric symptoms was on the rise recently. I have treated one patient who has mental depression, anxiety, impatience, impotence, palpitations, facial flushing, abdominal pain in the menopausal period in Dongshin University Oriental Hospital. I took acupunture, moxibustion, cupping, and also I made herbal medicine-gamiguibitang(加味歸脾湯). As a result, I got a good effect through above methods. So I came to write this case report.

'O Ga Pi Ip' has been used in Korea to cure rheumatism, neuralgia, edema, dematopathy, and impotence. The botanical origin of the crude drug has not been confirmed pharmacognostically. To clarify the botanical origin of 'O Ga Pi Ip', the morphological and anatomical characteristics of the leaves of Acanthopanax species growing in Korea and Japan, A. chi-isanensis Nakai, A. Koreanum Nakai, A. rufinerve Nakai, A. senticosus (Rupr.et Maxim). Harms, A senticosus (Rupr.et Maxim.) for inermis Harms, A. seoulense Nakai, A sessiliflorus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Seem, A. divaricatus Seem, A. sieboldianum Makino were compared. As a result, it was determined that 'O Ga Pi Ip' was the leaf of A. sessiliflorus (Rupr. et Maxim.) Seem, A chiisanensis Nakai, and A. koreanum $Nakai_I$.

Leriche syndrome ia a common entity which causes ischemia of the lower extremities. Since the introduction of aortic resection and homograft replacement by Oudot in 1951, reconstructive procedures to restore distal blood flow by either endarterectomy or, later, with prosthetic graft have become standardized. Recently we experienced a case of Leriche syndrome. A 50 year-old male patient admitted with intermittent claudication, impotence, and symmetrical atrophy at lower extremities. Aortogram revealed complete obstruction at infrarenal abdominal aorta and Doppler sonogram revealed only minimal blood flow at left femoral artery.Successful surgical treatment was accomplished with endarterectomy at proximal left renal artery and a bypass from abdominal aorta at the level of both renal arteries to both external iliac arteries with bifurcated Gore-tex vascular graft. After bypass operation, we did palpate with arterial pulse at both popliteal artery.He was recovered without complication.

Rubus coreantim (Rosaceae), which has been used in oriental traditional medicine as the remedies for impotence, pollution and premature ejaculation, bet-wetting and frequ ency of urination. is a fruit drug cultivating throughout southern Korea. The leaves of Rubus coreanum were extracted with 80% acetone. The extracts were separated by Ambellite XAD-2, Sephadex LH-20. MCI-gel CHP 20P and Cosmosil 75 C$_{18}$ OPN. And three flavonoids were isolated. The structures of these compounds were elucidated as quercetin-3-O-${\beta}$-D-glueuronopyranoside(l). quercetin-3-O-${\beta}$-D-glueuronopyranosyl methyl ester(2), quercetin-3-O-${\beta}$-D-xylopyranosyl-(2${\rightarrow}$1)-${\beta}$-glucopyranoside(3) on the basis of physicochemical and spectroscopic evidences.

The dried fruit of the Rubus coreanus, which is well-known in Korea and referred to as 'Bokbunja,' has been employed as a traditional medicine for centuries. This crude drug has been utilized in Korea for the management of impotence, spermatorrhea, enuresis, asthma, and allergic diseases. Our previous study demonstrated that the ethanol extracts of R. coreanus have anti-inflammatory effects. The principal objective of the present study was to conduct a comparison of the anti-inflammatory effects of the ethanol extracts of R. coreanus and R. occidentalis; here, we tested the unripe (URCE), half-ripened (HRCE), and ripened fruits (RCE) of R. coreanus, and the unripe (UROE), half-ripened (HROE), and ripened fruits (ROE) of R. occidentalis. We found that URCE, UROE, HRCE, and HROE reduced the production of nitric oxide and prostaglandin $E_{2}$ as well as pro-inflammatory cytokines in lipopolysaccharide-stimulated RAW264.7 murine macrophages. Interestingly, the R. coreanus extracts showed stronger inhibitory effects on the production of these inflammatory mediators than the R. occidentalis extracts.

By LC/MS/MS, the analytical method of sildenafil and its analogues (homosildenafil, vardenafil and tadalafil) used as used medical treatment of impotence was established. electrosprary ionization (ESI) and atmospheric pressure chemical ionization (APCI) as a ionization method were applied. Several parameter were varied and the sensitivity and reproducibility were compared. In LC/ESI-MS method, capillary voltage, cone voltage, extractor, entrance and RF lens to create appropriate productr ions for multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) were variable parameter, but the formation of the other product ions except the precursor ion could not detect. And the value of entrance, collision energy, exit, corona voltage, cone voltage, extractor, RF lens, cone gas, and desolvation gas in APCI mode were varied, only the creation pattern of fragment ions by the change of RF lens value were detected, and the limit of detection was decreased due to the increase of S/N. Ten millimole ammonium formate (pH 4.8):acetonitrile=70:30 by isocratic elution in HPLC system was shown the maximum sensitivity in MS, the detection limit of sildenafil, homosildenafil, vardenafil and tadalafil obtained by ESI-MRM were 0.10, 0.025, 0.025, and $0.25{\mu}g/mL$ at S/N>5, respectively.

Erectile dysfunction (ED), also known as impotence, is the inability to attain and sustain an erection firm enough to have sexual intercourse. Frequent ED may be a symptom of health problems including heart disease, obesity, alcoholism, stress, smoking, and depression, that need treatment. This study aimed to effect of complex extract (CPL) including Cornus officinalis on sexual function factor in the erectile dysfunction rat model. The erectile dysfuction rat model was induced by cimetidine (500 mg/kg in 5% ethanol, oral injection 2 weeks). Rats were oral administered with different concentration of CPL in rat erectile dysfunction model. As a results, sexual function factors (NO, cGMP) significantly improved in CPL treated groups (CPL-300, 600, 900 mg/kg) compared to CON group. Serum testosterone was increased in a dose-dependent manner after CPL treatment. Furthermore, administrations of CPL restored lumen areas of the prostate in the erectile dysfunction rat model. These results indicated that CPL alleviated erectile dysfunction by increasing sexual function factor and testosterone in rat model. CPL could be used to natural treatement for erectile dysfunction. However, further study is required to identify active ingredient and its mechanism of erectile dysfunction.
