  • This paper is to explore the success factors of the online public grievance redressal system in the Nepal. It empirically tests the conceptual path model developed by DeLone and McLean which consists of six social perception variables with regard to citizen's intention to use the system. The estimates from 577 respondents support all the 13 hypotheses generated from D&L model. People's attitude and social norms are the two most important factors on the continuous usage of the system. It is suggested that the social factors are as much important as technological aspects when it comes to the e-government implementation. It is also suggested that the government should pay more attention to human factors in upgrading the design and development of e-grievance system in the foreseeable future.

  • Chronic kidney disease (CKD) in children is associated with various complications, including poor growth and development, mineral bone disorder, cardiovascular disease, kidney failure, and mortality. Slowing down the progression of CKD is important since CKD is often not curable. Prospective cohort studies have been conducted to understand the progression and outcomes of CKD in children, and these studies have identified non-modifiable and modifiable risk factors. Recognition of known risk factors and early intervention are important to delay the progression of kidney function decline in children.

  • The building construction projects include a variety of risk factors due to uncertainties. To succeed in the projects, it is important how risks are managed. Risk management is composed of identification, analysis and response. Especially, the risk analysis is important to objectively calculate significance of risk factors. This paper evaluates a method to find priorities of risks using the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process). The method has some defects; (1) the consistency becomes weak as the number of pair-wise compared risks is large, and (2) the input and output procedures are complex when risks are added to or removed from a risk database. Thus the paper adopt the PROMETHEE(Preference Ranking Organization METHod Enrichment Evaluations) analysis process which is able to overcome the limitation of the AHP restricted to 9 risk factors. The PROMETHEE method makes the procedure of risk analysis simple, when the risk factors pull out and put in the risk database. The purpose of this study is to prove the possibility of the PROMETHEE analysis process by being compared with AHP.

Methods: The subjects were 545 adolescents (295 from small and medium-sized cities and 250 from rural areas). The data was analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson corelation coefficients, and multiple regression with IBM SPSS 19.0 program. Results: The factors influencing the risk behaviors of adolescents in small- medium cities were school, peer risk factors and community risk factors, self- control among protective factors, positive communication with parents, positive peer associations, these variables explained 42.0%. The most important variable explaining the risk behaviors of adolescents in small- medium cities was positive communication with parents, followed by community risk factors, peer risk factors, positive peer relationships, school and self-control. The factors affecting the risk behaviors of rural adolescents were school, personal risk factor, peer risk factor, self- control factor, which explained 38.5% of the risk behaviors of adolescents in rural areas. Among them, the most important variable explaining risk behaviors was personal risk factors, followed by peer risk factors, school, and self-control. Conclusion: These finding suggest a need to develop a strategy to improve positive communication with parents for adolescents living in small- medium cities and a strategy to reduce personal risk factors and peer risk factors for rural adolescents.

  • This study investigates the potential components for academic research collaboration, and the factors that make it possible to achieve higher academic productivity. The components include collaboration factors and a collaboration model. We use two major collaboration factors to develop a framework for understanding the mechanisms that influence academic research collaborations: motivational factors and mediating factors. Motivational factors include self-motivation and trust whereas mediating factors are collaboration orientation and peer support. We analyze the effect for use of e-collaboration with research performance, reward, and satisfaction with e-research output. A survey of academicians was conducted, and by using the factor analysis and the structural equation model with SPSS 20 AMOS, we illustrate the possible influence of these factors on research performance and satisfaction. We discovered that both motivational and mediating factors play important roles on the success of academic research. This study offers several implications for academicians. We develop a parsimonious research model, which is related to e-collaboration in academic research. This unique model offers academicians to achieve good publication output from the research team. The motivational factor, self-motivation and trust, are important factors which has received positive impact of mediating factor collaboration orientation and peer support. Our research sheds light on the crucial factors for use of e-collaboration which offer the ultimate effect on performance and satisfaction with e-research output. Satisfaction motivates people to work more and more on the field of their interest, thereby influencing the performance of academicians. Rewards should be distributed according to performance of the individual, which will motivate the person to become more enthusiastic for his work of interest. Our evidence suggests that in understating the collaborative process, one must account for the context in which the collaboration occurs, the motivation of the collaborators, the scope and nature of the project, the roles and activities undertaken, and interpersonal processes such as trust. Researchers' motivations for engaging in collaboration were both instrumental and intrinsic.
