Elementary Teachers' Perception on Policies related to ICT for Future Education (미래교육을 대비한 정보관련 정책들에 대한 초등교사의 인식)

  • A variety of educational policies have been implemented to educate outstanding individuals who will lead the future and to adopt supporting systems. For the successful implementation of educational policies, it is crucial to identify the perception of teachers as main agents of education. This study conducted a survey with elementary teachers in Chungcheongbuk-do. The purpose of this study was to investigate teachers' perception on the major policies related to ICT(i.e., STEAM, Smart Education, Software Education, e-textbook, and EdudataSystem). This study also compared the distribution of teachers' perception on the policies. The results of the study indicated that teachers had relatively positive perception on the importance and the necessity of the policies. On the other hand, it was found that the levels of teachers' training experiences and readiness for teaching related to ICT were relatively low. In addition, the patterns of teachers' perception on STEAM, Smart Education and Software Education were similar. Based on the results, the study suggested that appropriate support and educational strategies for effective implementation of policies should be established.

The Influences of Restaurant Consumers' Electronic Word-of-Mouth(E-WOM) Information Communication on Product Perception Risk, Benefit and WOM Effect

  • Purpose - This study is intended to look into the influences of restaurant consumers' e-WOM information communication on product perception risk, benefit and WOM effect. Research design, data, and Methodology - To achieve this, a survey was empirically carried out to 426 restaurant consumers. Results - The findings are as follows. First, the influence of e-WOM on product perception risk showed that WOM information sender characteristics, WOM information recipient characteristics and online community had a statistically significant positive influence on product perception risk. Second, the influence of e-WOM on product risk benefit showed that WOM information sender characteristics, WOM information recipient characteristics and online communication had a statistically significant positive influence on product risk benefit. Third, WOM risk perception had a statistically significant positive influence on WOM acceptance. Fourth, WOM risk benefit had a statistically significant positive influence on WOM effect. Conclusions - As for the above-mentioned findings, the communication between e-WOM sender and recipient had a positive influence on the product evaluation and attitude change in the restaurant industry, and the WOM effect had an influence on the financial performance and non-financial performance. The communication attaches importance to a direct using and tasting experience due to the nature of restaurant industry when it is simultaneously performed as a positive mechanism between sender and recipient through each channel of these factors. But the e-WOM culture can lead to the WOM effect when both sender and recipient share the persuasive communicability in reality that diversifies communication methods, having a positive influence on the management performance.

A Study of Effects of Characteristics of Cosmetics Manufacturers' Uniform Design on Perception of Service Quality and Customer Satisfaction: Focusing on Women in Their 20s (화장품업체 유니폼디자인 특성이 서비스품질 지각과 고객만족도에 미치는 영향: 20대 여성고객을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to the recognize the importance of uniform design and provide empirical data to companies after getting the effects of uniform design in cosmetics companies on service quality perception and customer satisfaction. For this, a preliminary survey was conducted against 30 college women (aged 20s) from 'K' University, and effective samples were obtained from 250 people. In terms of a research method, collected data were coded and analyzed using SPSS. The respondents' characteristics were analyzed using descriptive statistics. For reliability analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ was used. For a validity test, factor analysis was performed. In addition, correlation analysis was carried out to examine multicollinearity among variables. The analysis results found that the characteristics of uniform design have a positive effect on service quality and customer satisfaction. Among the characteristic of uniform design, however, functionality wasn't confirmed in a relational test. This kind of result was obtained because the uniform was mostly analyzed from customers' perspective, not from the wearer's standpoint. It is expected that the study results would be helpful in establishing brand identity through the improvement of the importance of uniform design.

  • Purpose - This study was intended to provide implications for the importance of color to airlines where the image customers feel about the business is paramount. The importance of colors shown by the airline crew, an important human resource for airlines as contact workers, was investigated. We wanted to present suggestions by investigating and comparing the difference in customer attitude regarding the color of uniforms of the airline crew. Research design, data, and methodology - A survey was conducted to examine differences in perception of airline uniform color, with the research that suggests that the customer's attitude to uniform color will vary. The difference in the perception of passengers according to the colors of the airline uniforms was determined by conducting an empirical analysis. Results - Customers have a different attitude about the color of the uniform of airline's flight attendants' uniform. Full service airlines (FSC) generally have a bright, calm, neat, and heavy-handed feeling, while low-cost carriers (LCC) have a distinctive, dynamic, energetic, and cheerful feeling. Conclusions - An empirical analysis of the study found that customers' attitudes vary by uniform color for each airline. It has also been revealed that Airline's uniform color can communicate the company's goals it wants to convey.

Health Beliefs and Breast Self-Examination among Female University Nursing Students in Turkey

  • Background: The aim of this study was to determine the health beliefs and knowledge about breast self examination (BSE) and the actual BSE habits of female university nursing students. Materials and Methods: The study sample recruited 189 nursing students who agreed to participate in the study. Descriptive statistics, the Mann-Whitney U test, one way ANOVA test, t test and Pearson correlation analysis were used to analyse the data. Results: 83.1% of nursing students had knowledge about breast cancer (BC) and BSE in the study. BSE was practiced by 70.4% of nursing students; 21.8% of them performed BSE regularly. A fear of developing BC was an incentive for 85% of nursing students to practice BSE. The confidence subscale scores in the third and fourth years of students' university education were higher, and the barrier subscale score in these same years was lower than their first years of study. Perception of benefit of nursing students experiencing breast-related discomfort exerted a positive effect. Nursing students with lower perception of barriesr performed BSE regularly. In conclusion, nursing students' years of university study, breast cancer knowledge, history of breast cancer in family, and BSE practice status were factors affecting their health beliefs. Conclusions: These study results indicate the importance of developing education and training programs which educate not only nursing students but all women about breast cancer, its symptoms, the importance of early diagnosis and of regular BSE.

Perception on Outcomes and Challenges of Vocational Education Division CSAT by Industry Department Teachers of Specialized Vocational High School (수능 직업탐구 영역의 성과와 과제에 대한 공업계열 특성화고 현장 교사의 인식)

  • The purpose of this study was to inquiry of perception on outcomes and challenges of vocational education division CSAT by industry department teachers of specialized vocational high school. Therefore, it is highly desirable that researchers to survey what are the biggest outcomes of vocational education division CSAT and positive ripple effects of outcomes, what are the biggest challenges of vocational education division CSAT and importance of challenges undertaken 10 years. The survey included 100 industry department teachers of specialized vocational high school on 9 region from Korea. The analysis of survey results was by regions, industry department teacher's career of specialized vocational high school. The results are as follows. The biggest outcomes of vocational education division CSAT was extension of opportunity on continuing education and supply a demand for entrance university on specialized vocational high school students. The biggest positive ripple effects of the outcomes was also extension of opportunity on continuing education and supply a demand for entrance university on specialized vocational high school students. The biggest challenges of vocational education division CSAT and importance of challenges was not to use vocational education division CSAT score for the entrance on the most universities.

Korean Family’s Perception of the Importance of the Quality of Restaurants according to Family Life Cycle (가족생활주기에 따른 외식업소의 품질 요소별 중요성 차이)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the customer’s perception of the importance of restaurant quality by using a developed SERVQUAL model. In particular, it was intended to provide the basic information for nutrition education for family’s eating out. the data were collected through the survey over 440 families who have lived around the apartments in Kyongju and Seoul. The structure questionnaire included 35 items evaluating the quality of restaurants, adapting SERVQUAL model and adding other factors related to restaurant and the general characteristics of the families. The data were analyzed using SPSS 10.0 WIN program for descriptive analysis, a chi-square test and Pearson’s correlation test. The major results were as follows: From the factor analysis, the 35 items related to the quality of restaurant have been categorized into 10 factors, ie., ‘Health’, ‘Reliability’, ‘Employee’, ‘Food’, ‘Facilities’, ‘Product’, ‘Empathy’, ‘Access’, ‘Comfort’, and ‘Safety’. From the analysis of the correlation between family life cycle of four steps and 10 factors, four factors such as ‘Health’, ‘Facilities’ (p<0.001), ‘Comfort’ (p<0.01) and ‘Product’ (p<0.05) showed statistical significance. ‘Health’ and ‘Product’ factors marked the highest score in the family with senior couple live without children or single, but the lowest score in the family with young couple without children or single. ‘Facilities’ and ‘Comfort’ factors showed the highest scores in the family with under elementary school children, and the lowest scores in the family with over elementary school children.

Job Satisfaction and Perception of Importance-Performance among Nutrition Counseling by Nutrition Teachers in Kyungbuk Area (경북 지역 학교 영양 교사의 영양 상담 시행에 따른 직무만족도와 중요도-수행도 조사)

  • The purpose of this study was to assess the practical nutrition counseling system by investigating job perception and satisfaction among school nutrition teachers in Kyungbuk area. One hundred and fifty school nutrition teachers were surveyed and 128 answered(85.3%). Data were analyzed by frequency(%), $x^2$-test, and pearson's correlation analyses. Nutrition teachers in elementary schools conducted nutrition counseling more than those in middle schools. In descending order, the reasons for not conducting nutrition education were lack of time, inadequate system for the nutrition counseling, lack of curriculum and lack of facilities. Respondents thought that reduced workload was important to conduct nutrition counseling. However, nutrition counseling should be actively utilized as teachers showed high satisfaction. Therefore, systematic support from related departments combined with effective nutrition counselling methods for nutrition teachers should be continuously provided.

Effectiveness of Computer-tailored Intervention Program;Focused on the Program to Promote Breast-Feeding (컴퓨터-맞춤형 중재 프로그램의 효과;모유수유 증진을 위한 프로그램을 중심으로)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of an computer-tailored intervention program to promote breast-feeding. Method: A quasi-experimental design was used assigning forty pregnant women to the experimental group (computer-tailored intervention condition) and the control group (no-intervention control condition). Thirty-three participants completed pretest and posttest questionnaires and 19 participants assigned to intervention condition received personal feedback tailored by computer program. Result: Participants in the experimental group showed higher mean score of 'perception of the importance of breast-feeding'. Significant differences in internal health locus of control was found between the participants in the experimental group and the control group. Participants in the experimental group exceeded controls on intention of breast-feeding. Participants in the control group more often felt that the length of program contents they received was somehow longer. Conclusions: The use of a computer-tailored intervention improved the perception of the importance of breast-feeding and the internal health locus of control. The intention of breast-feeding was increased through the personal feedback tailored by computer even though participants felt that the length of program contents of tailored feedback was not longer.

  • An advance in digital technologies and an introduction of HDTV contents production systems have made innovative changes in a TV broadcasting program and video production environment. The role of HD contents production experts is particularly getting more important to have a competitiveness in digital video production. It is necessary to develop a professional training and reeducation program that is based upon the perception of production experts. In this paper, we ed the perception of video production professionals and analyzed their requirements. With a DACUM job analysis method, 9 job duties and 71 tasks were retrieved to establish a research model. Then the performing frequency, importance, and difficulty in video editor's duties were analyzed and discussed.
