Chirp spread spectrum method using both time and frequency component is fit to time varying channel such as powerline channel. The used chirp symbol based on the CEBus standard is the unit symbol which sweeps from 100kHz to 380kHz over a 25㎲. To evaluate the performance of between Chirp-SS and DSSS, we measured the bit error rate under Gaussian channel. Simulation result is shown that Chirp-SS has a about 3[dB] gain of SNR than DSSS. To verify the performance of implemented modem, it is made up the powerline channel environment. After adding several noises to it, we examined the receiving status of modem. The implemented modem is able to receive the signal over the powerline channel with having several noises and capacitive loads.

In this paper, we describe the design, implementation and evaluation for a multimedia conferencing system with intramedia and intermedia synchronization support between audio and video. The synchronization mechanism proposed here is capable of dynamically adapting to various network conditions thus providing an optimized QoS. In realizing the system based on this mechanism, NeVoT on Mbone is used for audio and VIC for video. Furthermore a synchromization controller is designed and realized with a unique process in supporting intermedia synchronization. Each media agents handling its media stream are modified with intramedia synchronization function. And a communicative function between media agents and synchronization controller is added as well for intermedia synchronization function. Each media agents function reports its buffering status to the synchronization control process which in turn send out optimized buffering delay value thus supporting intermedia synchronization. The realized system is configured and tested on Ethernet and ATM network where performance measurements were performed and its effective synchronization support has been assured.

This paper presents an Intelligent Balance Beam Controller(IBBC) which can estimate the inertia of load automatically. Balance Beam controller is a kind of construction tool which can control the attitude of the load hanging in the air such as a beam carried by crane. In our previous work, Balance Beam had been built to control the object in air using a mechanical gyro system having a position controllable gimbal structure. In field application the load inertia for operation is not easy to figure out because the weight and shape which determines the inertia, varies depending on the object to be carried. Therefore it is difficult for a worker to operate a Balance Beam and an accident could be caused occasionally. We designed an automatic load estimator to measure the inertia of arbitrary load by using an angular velocity sensor that is installed on the Balance Beam. Simulation results and current status for implementation are presented.

The outlines of seismic PSA implementation standards and seismic hazard evaluation procedure were shown. An overview of the cause investigation of seismic motion amplification on the Niigata-ken Chuetsu-oki (NCO) earthquake was also shown. Then, the contents for improving the seismic hazard evaluation methodology based on the lessons learned from the NCO earthquake were described. (1) It is very important to recognize the effectiveness of a fault model on the detail seismic hazard evaluation for the near seismic source through the cause investigation of the NCO earthquake. (2) In order to perform and proceed with a seismic hazard evaluation, the Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization has proposed the framework of the open deliberation rule regarding the treatment of uncertainty which was made so as to be able to utilize a logic tree. (3) The b-value evaluation on the "Stress concentrating zone," which is a high seismic activity around the NCO hypocenter area, should be modified based on the Gutenberg-Richter equation.

We developed a RFID system to effective management and monitoring for school assert. In this paper, RFID system implemented a two way which are control to 13.56MHz for in/outbound order and 2.45GHz for positioning tracking and monitoring. We also make up the contents and database utilizing the labview tool in pc. In addition, the developed system can obtain simultaneously the information from several RFID reader at real time so that it is possible to track the position system, the path moving and the status of asserts in the school. Especially, 2.45GHz system has a function to prevent a assert theft. It is observed from the various and practical experiment that the proposed system is useful for assert management and monitoring.

It is essential for any public institution to establish a systematical scheme and a management system to maintain the contents and securities of its ever-expandingweb-site with efficiency. The general users want a reliable system and a simple and stress-free web environment, and expect the public institutions to maintain the accuracy and conformity of information they provide to the public. In かis study, 1 examined a web-site owned by a certain governmental research institute for the current maintenance status and problems to seek an effective and easy-to-use scheme for both users and web managers. Based on what I teamed from my study, 1 moved on to design a web integration system and tested it on the above mentioned web-site for analysis.

This paper aims to draw out the practical lessons for City Brand as aspect of urban spatial by urban regeneration project in Korea. Image of the City and City Brand is the most important element for the competitiveness of modern cities. This paper discusses the guide line or strategy of City Brand, its current status in Korea. It also examines the present Urban Regeneration in Korea, identifies the problems encountered in implementation, and suggests the solutions for strengthening urban competitiveness such as a City Brand. Also it emphasized that well planned invisible and physical environments, including story and land-mark facilities, are also crucial in making City Brand more attractive and competitive.

This empirical study examines the current status of TqM implementation in Korean service industry The data were collected from employes in hotels located in Seoul, korea with the questionnaire. The several statistical method such as t-test multiple regression were used for analysis. The major findings include the followings : First TQM practices have become common in Korean hotel industry. Second, There exist significant TQM factors which effect on customer satisfaction. For the high level hotel group supplier management, quality data management employee relations, and training are important factors for customer satisfaction while top management role and employee relations are significant factors for low level hotel group.

In the embedded system, external device interface that operates serial protocol with lower speed than the general computers is used commonly. This paper describes I2C bus protocol that is a bi-directional serial bus with a two-pin interface. The I2C bus requires a minimum amount of hardware to relay status and reliability information concerning the processor subsystem to an external device.

In this paper, to realize the network management function in automated manufacturing network Mini-MAP, the network management requirements are analyzed and the network management system is implemented on the basis of this analysis. The implemented management system which has both local management and remote management mechanism is considered as a single domain on the Mini-MAP network. Here, the remote management functions consist of network status, monitoring and remote operations and the local management functions have parameter display and network self testing. The MAP network controller is designed according to the MAP version 3.0 specifications and IEEE 802 standards. the operations of network management system are certified througth the test environments which consists of the implemented network adaptor and softwares for Mini-MAP.
