  • In this paper, we propose a cross-correlation property and a related technique based on the validity of image block in a public watermarking and we embed messages into the high frequency band in the DCT domain because of its imperceptibility and fragility. As a result, we were able to inspect the identity of valid block between error corrected original images and watermarked images through experiments. And we confirmed the viability of this cross-correlation as an application for future public watermarking.

  • In this paper block based blind secure gray image watermarking scheme based on discrete wavelet transform and singular value decomposition is proposed. In devising the proposed scheme, security is given high importance along with other two requirements: robustness and imperceptibility. The use of discrete wavelet transform not only improves robustness but the selection of bands with high tolerance towards noise caused an improvement in terms of imperceptibility. The robustness further improved due to the involvement of singular vectors along with singular values in watermark embedding and extraction process. Finally, to achieve security, the selected DWT band is decomposed into smaller blocks and random blocks are chosen for modification. Furthermore, the elements of left and right singular vectors of selected blocks are chosen based on their dependence upon each other for watermark embedding. Various experiments using different images as host and watermark were conducted to examine and validate the proposed technique. Additionally, the proposed technique is tested against various attacks like compression, affine transformation, cropping, translation, X shearing, scaling, Y shearing, filtering, blurring, different kinds of noises, histogram equalization, rotation, etc. Lastly, the proposed technique is compared with state-of-the-art watermarking techniques and their comparison shows significant improvement of proposed scheme over existing techniques.

  • Multi-level has advantage to express image in all levels with different images. This paper proposes digital watermarking built-in technique to transform color image to YCbCr color space to guarantee robustness and imperceptibility of the watermark in the various expression of color images, and to hide multi-level data which shows spread spectrum from low resolution to whole resolution for the Y-signal of multi-level. In color signal, Y-signal and low resolution built-in watermark has risk to be visible, but it can guarantee the robustness of watermark in various colors and transformed images. As a result of the experiment, wavelet compression image with built-in watermark showed robustness and imperceptibility of watermark.

  • Most existing wavelet-based multiplicative watermarking methods are affected by geometric attacks to a certain extent. A serious limitation of wavelet-based multiplicative watermarking is its sensitivity to rotation, scaling, and translation. In this study, we propose an image watermarking method by using dual-tree complex wavelet transform with a multi-objective optimization approach. We embed the watermark information into an image region with a high entropy value via a multiplicative strategy. The major contribution of this work is that the trade-off between imperceptibility and robustness is simply solved by using the multi-objective optimization approach, which applies the watermark error probability and an image quality metric to establish a multi-objective optimization function. In this manner, the optimal embedding factor obtained by solving the multi-objective function effectively controls watermark strength. For watermark decoding, we adopt a maximum likelihood decision criterion. Finally, we evaluate the performance of the proposed method by conducting simulations on benchmark test images. Experiment results demonstrate the imperceptibility of the proposed method and its robustness against various attacks, including additive white Gaussian noise, JPEG compression, scaling, rotation, and combined attacks.

  • Text steganography combined with natural language generation has become increasingly popular. The existing methods usually embed secret information in the generated word by controlling the sampling in the process of text generation. A candidate pool will be constructed by greedy strategy, and only the words with high probability will be encoded, which damages the statistical law of the texts and seriously affects the security of steganography. In order to reduce the influence of the candidate pool on the statistical imperceptibility of steganography, we propose a steganography method based on a new sampling strategy. Instead of just consisting of words with high probability, we select words with relatively small difference from the actual sample of the language model to build a candidate pool, thus keeping consistency with the probability distribution of the language model. What's more, we encode the candidate words according to their probability similarity with the target word, which can further maintain the probability distribution. Experimental results show that the proposed method can outperform the state-of-the-art steganographic methods in terms of security performance.

  • This paper presents a secure and blind adaptive audio watermarking algorithm based on Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD). The audio signal is divided into frames and each one is decomposed adaptively, by EMD, into several Intrinsic Mode Functions (IMFs). The watermark and the synchronization codes are then embedded into the extrema of the last IMF. The experimental results show that the proposed method has good imperceptibility and robustness against signal processing attacks.

  • We propose a new watermarking scheme that can be used to embed multiple bits and also resilient to JPEG compression and geometrical transforms such as scaling, rotation, and cropping, based on off-axis holographic watermark that allows multiple watermark recovery without original content(cover image). The holographic watermark is that Fourier transformed digital hologram is embedded into cover image in the spatial domain. The proposed method has not only increased robustness with a stronger embedding but also imperceptibility of the watermark in the evaluation process.

  • Digital watermarking is imperceptible and statistically undetectable information embeds into digital data. Most information in digital audio watermarking schemes have used binary random sequences. The embedded binary random sequence distorts and modifies the original data while it plays a vital role in security. In this paper, a binary random sequence to improve imperceptibility in perceptual region of the human auditory system is proposed. The basic idea of this work is a modification of a binary random sequence according to the frequency analysis of adjacent binary digits that have different signs in the sequence. The canonical signed digit code (CSDC) is also applied to modify a general binary random sequence and the pair-matching function between original and its modified version. In our experiment, frequency characteristics of the proposed binary random sequence was evaluated and analyzed by Bark scale representation of frequency and frequency gains.

  • For copyright protection of digital contents, we employ watermarking techniques to embed watermark signals into digital host data. In this paper we propose an adaptive watermarking algorithm for three-dimensional (3-D) mesh models. Watermark signals are inserted into vertex coordinates adaptively according to changes of their position values. While we embed strong watermarks in the areas of large variations, watermarks are weakly inserted in other areas. After we generate triangle strips by traversing the 3-D model and convert the Cartesian coordinates to the spherical coordinate system, we calculate variations of vertex positions along the traversed strips. Then, we insert watermark signals into the vertex coordinates adaptively according to the calculated variations. We demonstrate that imperceptibility of the inserted watermark is significantly improved and show the bit error rate (BER) for robustness.

  • High dynamic range (HDR) images are becoming pervasive due to capturing or rendering of a wider range of luminance, but their special display equipment is difficult to be popularized because of high cost and technological problem. Thus, HDR images must be adapted to the conventional display devices by applying tone mapping (TM) operation, which puts forward higher requirements for intellectual property protection of HDR images. As the robustness presents regional diversity in the low dynamic range (LDR) watermarked image after TM, which is different from the traditional watermarking technologies, a concept of watermarking activity is defined and used to distinguish the essential distinction of watermarking between LDR image and HDR image in this paper. Then, a novel robust HDR image watermarking algorithm is proposed against TM operations. Firstly, based on the hybrid processing of redundant discrete wavelet transform and singular value decomposition, the watermark is embedded by modifying the structure information of the HDR image. Distinguished from LDR image watermarking, the high embedding strength can cause more obvious distortion in the high brightness regions of HDR image than the low brightness regions. Thus, a perceptual brightness mask with low complexity is designed to improve the imperceptibility further. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is robust to the existing TM operations, with taking into account the imperceptibility and embedded capacity, which is superior to the current state-of-art HDR image watermarking algorithms.
