Synchronization of Moving objects and VR images (매칭 모듈을 이용한 이동 객체와 VR 영상의 동기화)

  • Recently, VR and AR are emerging as an area of interest in ICT. In virtual reality to feel like a real, many people are looking for them because of its charm. However, the motion of the VR image and the moving object are not synchronized exactly, and a problem of feeling nausea is also occurring. The problem should be solved by the application of Attraction in the VR system. In this paper, we propose a module that minimizes delay time by synchronizing movement of VR image and moving object. The proposed module calculates the moving distance using the direction and the acceleration sensor that the user views through the VR device. The module proposed in this paper will pay attention to the fact that the movement of the attraction moves along a fixed path, so that the accurate travel distance can be calculated.

  • Due to the recent rise of a need for 3 dimensional geospatial information on urban areas, general interest in aerial multi-view cameras has been on an increase. The conventional geospatial information system depends solely upon vertical images, while the multi-view camera is capable of taking both vertical and oblique images taken from multiple directions, thus making it easier for the user to interpret the object. Through our research we developed a prototype of a multi-view camera system that includes a camera system, GPS/INS, a flight management system, and a control system. We also studied and experimented with the camera viewing angles, the synchronization of image capture, the exposure delay, the data storage that must be considered for the development of the multi-view camera system.

  • Recently, as digital broadcasting and internet are spreaded out of the world, we can easily use informations with less restrictions of time and space. According to the current trends, concerns for the ways of representing multimedia data has been rapidly increased, and users demand the services with integrated document that takes not only simple text and image but also time varying audio-visual data. Therefore, in 1998, W3C presented an international standard, SMIL in order to solve multimedia object representation and synchronization problems. By using SMIL, various multimedia elements can be integrated as a multimedia document with proper view in a space and time. Using this SMIL document, we can create new internet radio broadcasting service that delivers not only audio data but also various text, image and video. In this paper, we describe on a SMIL document editor for the common users to be able to represent time varying multimedia data with special layout and synchronization of time and space.

  • Automobile sunroof buffeting is the tonal noise of low frequency around 20Hz. It occurs due to the acoustic feedback process between the shear layer detached from the leading edge of sunroof opening and the Helmholtz resonator-like property of a car cabin. In this paper, PIV visualization technique is applied to the unsteady flow field around sunroof opening of an SUV in the full-scale automotive wind tunnel in order to find out buffeting mechanism. A phase-marking PIV measurement method, in which image and sound pressure are recorded simultaneously, and a phase-rearrangement post-processing program were developed for capturing noise-related velocity fields without expensive synchronization systems. Through this study, some characteristics of the real-car sunroof shear layers under various deflector conditions were identified and these results can provide insights into the noise reduction mechanism of the tube-type deflector.

Development of Digital Particle Holographic System for Measurements of the Characteristics of Spray Droplets (분무 액적 특성 계측을 위한 디지털 입자 홀로그래피 시스템의 개발)

  • This study presents development of digital particle holographic system and its application to spray field to measure three-dimensional velocities and sizes of spray droplets. A double exposure hologram recording system with synchronization system for time control was established and digital holograms can be recorded in a short time interval. To process recorded holograms, the correlation coefficient method was used for focal plane determination of particles. To remove noises and improve the quality of holograms and reconstructed images, the Wiener filter was adopted. The two-threshold and image segmentation methods were used in binary image transformation. For particle pairing, the match probability method was adopted. The developed system was applied to spray field and three-dimensional velocities and sizes of spray droplets were measured. The measurement results of digital holographic system were compared with those made by laser instruments, PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer), which proved the feasibility of in-line digital particle holographic system as a good measurement tool for spray droplets.

  • Neural Oscillator can be applied to oscillatory systems such as the image recognition, the voice recognition, estimate of the weather fluctuation and analysis of geological fluctuation etc in nature and principally, it is used often to pattern recoglition of image information. Conventional BPL(Back-Propagation Learning) and MLNN(Multi Layer Neural Network) are not proper for oscillatory systems because these algorithm complicate Learning structure, have tedious procedures and sluggish convergence problem. However, these problems can be easily solved by using a synchrony characteristic of neural oscillator with PLL(phase-Locked Loop) function and by using a simple Hebbian learning rule. Resynchronization of Modified JPEG Using a Power Allocation Scheme in a Direct Sequence CDMA System

  • In this paper, we discuss recovery schemes for errors occurring when image data encoded with variable length coding (VLC) is transmitted through additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) and multiple-access interference in direct sequence code division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems. VLC such as JPEG is so sensitive to channel errors that severe degradation in decoded images occurs even if only one or two bits have errors. This is due to the loss of synchronization at the image decoder. We propose a resynchronization scheme using a power allocation method in wireless DS/CDMA transmission. Through simulation, we know that the proposed method has a more robust resynchronization capability and higher objective and subjective quality than the conventional method.

Image Watermarking Robust to Geometrical Attacks based on Normalization using Invariant Centroid (불변의 무게중심을 이용한 영상 정규화에 기반한 기하학적 공격에 강인한 워터마킹)

  • This paper proposes a digital image watermarking scheme, which is robust to geometrical attacks. The method improves image normalization-based watermarking (INW) technique that doesn't effectively deal with geometrical attacks with cropping. Image normalization is based on the moments of the image, however, in general, geometrical attacks bring the image boundary cropping and the moments are not preserved original ones. Thereafter the normalized images of before and after are not same form, i.e., the synchronization is lost. To solve the cropping problem of INW, Invariant Centroid (IC) is proposed in this paper. IC is a gravity center of a central area on a gray scale image that is invariant although an image is geometrically attacked and the only central area, which has less cropping possibility by geometrical attacks, is used for normalization. Experimental results show that the IC-based method is especially robust to geometrical attack with cropping.

  • Multimedia synchronization model for distributed, continuous or discrete media that was guaranteed high quality of service is requited in developing multimedia application software. In this paper we have specific object controller which is called dynamic key media that is changed by user event generation. This becomes media whose event occurrence and periods can't be predicted. For event occurrence not only audio but also text and image can be chosen for key media and performs its role. Object controller transfers information for next transition. The proposed model offers high qualify of services by permitting maximum allowed jitter and skew in playout time and verified its effectiveness by simulation.

  • In this Paper, we present a new 3D viewing device based on field-sequential stereoscopic system. To extract signals for synchronization, common field-sequential stereoscopic system should insert extra equipment in the system(usually PC), or use internal signal of the system with software drivers. It causes several problems such as inconvenience, compatibility with hardware or OS, and reversed view of left and right image. In this paper, we propose new system that uses photo sensor sensing the light stimulus on the screen to extract synchronization and R/L distinction signals. This system will solve these problems and moreover it can operate in the internet or HDTV.
