During an X-ray examination, the beam of radiation is dispersed in many directions. We believe that managing radiation dose is about providing transparency to users and patients in the accurate investigation and analysis of radiation dose. The purpose of measuring the radiation dose as a function of location is to ensure that medical personnel using the equipment or participating in the operating room are minimally harmed by the different radiation doses depending on their location. Four mobile diagnostic X-ray units were used to analyze the radiation dose depending on the spatial location. The image intensifier and the flat panel detector type that receives the image analyzed the dose by angle to measure the distribution of the exposure dose by location. The radiation equipment used was composed of four units, and measuring devices were installed according to the location. The X-ray (C-arm) was measured by varying the position from 0 to 360 degrees, and the highest dose was measured at the center position based on the abdominal position, and the highest dose was measured at the 90° position for the head position when using the image intensifier equipment. The operator or medical staff can see that the radiation dose varies depending on the position of the diagnostic radiation generator. In the image intensifier and flat panel detector type that accepts images, the dose by angle was analyzed for the distribution of exposed dose by position, and the measurement method should be changed according to the provision of dose information that is different from the dose output from the equipment according to the position.

The author has evaluated the panoramic image clarity of the midfacial anatomic structures in dry skull according to the skull position. The radiopaque markers were attached to the anatomic structures: infraorbial rim, upper and lower borders of zygomatic arch, pterygomaxillary fissure, lateral pterygoid plate, pyriform aperture of nasal cavity, lateral wall of maxilla, orbital floor, infraorbital foramen, and nasal floor. Position of the skull were divided into four groups. standard, 25mm forward, chin-down, chin-up position. The results were as follows: 1. The pyriform aperture of nasal cavity, lateral wall of the maxilla, orbital floor, infraorbital foramen and nasal floor did net cast any discernible image. 2. Nearly all images of midfacial structures were blurred in the chin-up position. 3. The forward position provided good visualization of the maxillary sinus. 4. The chin-down position provided good visualization of the zygomatic arch, pterygomaxillary fissue, and lateral pterygoid plate.
Purpose: To get a 3-D coordinates of intracranial target position was investicated in axial, sagittal and coronal magnetic resonance imaging with a preliminary experimented target localizer. Material and methods : In preliminal experiments, the localizer is made of engineering plastic to avoid the distrubance of magnetic field during the MR image scan. The MR localizer displayed the 9 points in three different axial tomogram. The bright signal of localizer was obtjained from 0.1~0.3% of paramagnetic gadolinium/DTPA solution in T1WI or T2WI. In this study, the 3-D position of virtual targets were examined from three different axial MR images and the streotactic position was compared to that of BRW stereotactic system in CT scan with same targets. Results: This study provided the actual target position could be obtained from single scan with MRI localizer which has inverse N-typed 9 bars. This experiment was accomplished with shimming test for detection of image distortion in MR image. However we have not found the image distortion in axial scan. The maximum error of target positions showed 1.0 mm in axial, 1.3 mm for sagittal and 1.7 mm for coronal image, respectivelly. The target localization in MR localizer was investicated with spherical virtual target in skull cadaver. Furthermore, the target position was confirmed with CRW stereotactic system showed a 1.3 mm in discrepancy. Summary : The intracranial target position was determined within 1.7 mm of discrepancy with designed MR localizer. We found the target position from axial image has more small discrepancy than that of sagittal and coronal image.

In this study an automatic rolling-coil labeling system using robot vision system and peripheral mechanism is proposed and implemented, which instead of the manual labor to attach labels Rolling-coils in a steel mill. The binary image process for the image processing is performed with the threshold, and the contour line is converted to the binary gradient which detects the discontinuous variation of brightness of rolling-coils. The moments invariant algorithm proposed by Hu is used to make it easy to recognize even when the position of the center are different from the trained data. The position error compensation algorithm of six degrees of freedom industrial robot manipulator is also developed and the data of the position of the center rolling-coils, which is obtained by floor mount camera, are transferred by asynchronous communication method. Therefore, even if the position of center is changed, robot moves to the position of center and performs the labeling work successfully. Therefore, this system can be improved the safety and efficiency.

An underwater mooing target position tracking system using image tracking system of CPMC is developed to use in a test basin. Generally the performance tests of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles(AUVs) are conducted in the sea. Some efforts to perform the test in a test basin are exist, because the real sea tests need much time and manpower. And also the real sea tests are high cost. There is a restriction to acquire the position of AUVs using sonar sensor system in the test tank, because many sound reflecters are exist in a test basin. In this paper a position tracking system for underwater mooing target developed to break though this restriction. A Tank-test is conducted to examine the performance of the position tracking system.

This study shows an alternative method for the determination of object's position, based on a computer vision method. This approach develops the vision system model to define the reciprocal relationship between the 3-D real space and 2-D image plane. The developed model involves the bilinear six-view parameters, which is estimated using the relationship between the camera space location and real coordinates of known position. Based on estimated parameters in independent cameras, the position of unknown object is accomplished using a sequential estimation scheme that permits data of unknown points in each of the 2-D image plane of cameras. This vision control methods the robust and reliable, which overcomes the difficulties of the conventional research such as precise calibration of the vision sensor, exact kinematic modeling of the robot, and correct knowledge of the relative positions and orientation of the robot and CCD camera. Finally, the developed vision control method is tested experimentally by performing determination of object position in the space using computer vision system. These results show the presented method is precise and compatible.

This paper proposes a method using the straight line Hough transform(SLHT) that recognizes the position
of DNA band images from the scanner. The method also detects and corrects automatically the leaning
angle of the image. After binarization of a gray-scale DNA band images, the SLHT detects line
components involved in the image and recognizes the position of the image using the cross paints of
the line components assuming the image is in retangular shape. To improve efficiency of reading many
IINA band images through the scanner, this method finds and corrects the leaning angle accurately as
less than -t I degree.
In this paper, the measurement algorithm of PCB alignment error is developed using image processing. The X-Y-$\theta$ table correcting PCB alignment error is driven by drive module based on microprocessor according to calculation results obtained through image processing procedure. In order to recognize the X-Y-$\theta$ position errors, two fiducial points are marked on PCB and two cameras of ultraviolet rays types are used for detection of the points to capture exactly fiducial points under disturbance of illumination change. Through application for a practical screen printer, the precision control using the developed position control system can be realized about 2.5${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in table moving range and 8${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in camera processing precision.

Most of the current 2-D object recognition systems are model-based. In such systems, the representation of each of a known set of objects are precompiled and stored in a database of models. Later, they are used to recognize the image of an object in each instance. In this thesis, the approach method for the 2-D object recognition is treating an object boundary as a string of structral units and utilizing string matching to analyze the scenes. To reduce string matching time, models are rebuilt by means of fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm. In this experiments, the image of objects were taken at initial position of a robot from the CCD camera, and the models are consturcted by the proposed algorithm. After that the image of an unknown object is taken by the camera at a random position, and then the unknown object is identified by a comparison between the unknown object and models. Finally, the amount of translation and rotation of object from the initial position is computed.
Image scaling is used for a variety of real-life applications. In order to evaluate the performance of transform functions, the image quality are compared together before and after processing. For the objective evaluation of the transform functions, the exact criterion of image quality is required, and various aspects approaches are practically performed. However, few researches have been conducted on image quality measurement considering the position of pixels that are skipped or newly generated in the process of the image scaling. Therefore this paper focuses on the objective image quality measurement for positions of skipped or estimated pixels in the image scaling. The proposed method generated new image quality measure considering the positional changes using a conventional measure and evaluated sensitivity about positional changes. Through this experiments, it is observed that conventional image quality measurement is definitely affected by positional changes of a skipped and estimated pixels. It is also confirmed that the proposed method is an objective criterion to represent image quality for positional changes of skipped or estimated pixels. The proposed method can be used as a criterion to evaluate the performance of image restoration or enhancement functions.
