  • This study is to grasp the variousness of clothing worn by elderly women with the ideal self-image by group and by finding out the characteristics of higher-image groups and lower-image group. The object of this study was a total of 488 elderly women above full 55 from an elderly women and who lived in downtown Pusan ionnaire. For statistical disposition, the analysis of factors and frequency was carried out. The results of this study are as follows : 1. As a result of the analysis of realistic self-image and ideal self-image, the realistic self-image was derived as 5 factors-voguishness, loftiness, freshness, feminality, activeness and the ideal self-image as 4 factors-activeness, loftiness, feminality, voguishness. 2. The perceptive age according to age in the realistic self -image reflects that though the 50' s percept the 50' s, the 60' s percept the 50' s and the 70' s the 60' s and also in the ideal self-image, it shows the same result. 3. The degree of satisfaction of build in the realistic self-image appeared that the 50's unsatisfied, the 60's and the 70's felt so, and in the ideal self-image, the 50's and 60's unstisfied, the 70's so. 4. The ideal image according to age in both the realistic self-image and the ideal self-image of clothing appeared that all the 50' sand 60' s wanted a good impression and the 70' s wanted a gentle impression. 5. The frequency of doing a make-up by age in all elder women according of the realistic self-image of clothing showed that the case of doing a make-up when going out only was the greatest number and also in the ideal self-image, it agrees to the same.

  • Region of interest (ROI) is the most informative part of a medical image and mostly has been used as a major part of watermark. Various shapes ROIs selection have been reported in region-based watermarking techniques. In region-based watermarking schemes an image region of non-interest (RONI) is the second important part of the image and is used mostly for watermark encapsulation. In online healthcare systems the ROI wrong selection by missing some important portions of the image to be part of ROI can create problem at the destination. This paper discusses the complete medical image availability in original at destination using the whole image as a watermark for authentication, tamper localization and lossless recovery (WITALLOR). The WITALLOR watermarking scheme ensures the complete image security without of ROI selection at the source point as compared to the other region-based watermarking techniques. The complete image is compressed using the Lempel-Ziv-Welch (LZW) lossless compression technique to get the watermark in reduced number of bits. Bits reduction occurs to a number that can be completely encapsulated into image. The watermark is randomly encapsulated at the least significant bits (LSBs) of the image without caring of the ROI and RONI to keep the image perceptual degradation negligible. After communication, the watermark is retrieved, decompressed and used for authentication of the whole image, tamper detection, localization and lossless recovery. WITALLOR scheme is capable of any number of tampers detection and recovery at any part of the image. The complete authentic image gives the opportunity to conduct an image based analysis of medical problem without restriction to a fixed ROI.

  • Color image segmentation is useful for fast retrieval in large image database. For that purpose, new image segmentation technique based on the probability of pixel distribution in the image is proposed. Color image is first divided into R, G, and B channel images. Then, pixel distribution from each of channel image is extracted to select to which it is similar among the well known probabilistic distribution function-Weibull, Exponential, Beta, Gamma, Normal, and Uniform. We use sum of least square error to measure of the quality how well an image is fitted to distribution. That P.d.f has minimum score in relation to sum of square error is chosen. Next, each image is quantized into 4 gray levels by applying thresholds to the c.d.f of the selected distribution of each channel. Finally, three quantized images are combined into one color image to obtain final segmentation result. To show the validity of the proposed method, experiments on some images are performed.

  • Large-scale retrieval algorithm is problem for visual analyses applications, along its research track. In this paper, we propose a high-efficiency region division-based image retrieve approaches, which fuse low-level local color histogram feature and texture feature. A novel image region division is proposed to roughly mimic the location distribution of image color and deal with the color histogram failing to describe spatial information. Furthermore, for optimizing our region division retrieval method, an image descriptor combining local color histogram and Gabor texture features with reduced feature dimensions are developed. Moreover, we propose an extended Canberra distance method for images similarity measure to increase the fault-tolerant ability of the whole large-scale image retrieval. Extensive experimental results on several benchmark image retrieval databases validate the superiority of the proposed approaches over many recently proposed color-histogram-based and texture-feature-based algorithms.

  • This paper proposes a method utilizing image compression and transmission method for image segmentation in order to reduce the time required in the process of analyzing the image information that has in the image compression process. Many studies of existing with respect to the image segmentation are being studied as a way to split a lot of a particular part in the image. We divide full image into the N equal parts. And it is compressed using the field coding. This will reduce the time-consuming than using the conventional method.

  • Bokeh effect is a stylistic technique that can produce blurring the background of photos. This paper implements to produce a bokeh effect with a single image by post processing. Generating depth map is a key process of bokeh effect, and depth map is an image that contains information relating to the distance of the surfaces of scene objects from a viewpoint. First, this work presents algorithms to determine the depth map from a single input image. Then, we obtain a sparse defocus map with gradient ratio from input image and blurred image. Defocus map is obtained by propagating threshold values from edges using matting Laplacian. Finally, we obtain the blurred image on foreground and background segmentation with bokeh effect achieved. With the experimental results, an efficient image processing method with bokeh effect applied using a single image is presented.

  • In this paper we propose the CBIR algorithm which is based on a novel image block method that combined both color and edge feature. The main drawback of global histogram representation is dependent of the color without spatial or shape information, a new image block method that divided the image to 8 related blocks which contained more information of the image is utilized to extract image feature. Based on these 8 blocks, histogram equalization and edge detection techniques are also used for image retrieval. The experimental results show that the proposed image block method has better ability of characterizing the image contents than traditional block method and can perform the retrieval system efficiently.

  • The position detection of overlapping area in the interframe for image stitching using auto and cross correlation function (ACCF) and compounding one image with the stitching algorithm is presented in this paper. ACCF is used by autocorrelation to the featured area to extract the filter mask in the reference (previous) image and the comparing (current) image is used by crosscorrelation. The stitching is detected by the position of high correlation, and aligns and stitches the image in shifting the current image based on the moving vector. The ACCF technique results in a few computations and simplicity because the filter mask is given by the featuring block, and the position is enabled to detect a bit movement. Input image captured from CMOS is used to be compared with the performance between the ACCF and the window correlation. The results of ACCF show that there is no seam and distortion at the joint parts in the stitched image, and the detection performance of the moving vector is improved to 12% in comparison with the window correlation method.

  • In fractral decoding procedure, the reconstructed image is obtained by iteratively applying the contractive transform to an arbitrary initial image. But this method is not suitable for the fast decoding because convergence speed depends on the selection of initial image. Therefore, the initial image to achieve fast decoding should be selected. In this paper, we propose an initial image estimation that can be applied to various decoding methods. The initial image similar to the original image is estimated by using only the compressed data so that the proposed method does not affect the compression ratio. From the simulation, the PSNR of the proposed initial image is 6dB higher han that of ones iterated output image of conventional decoding with Babaraimage. Computations in addition and multiplication are reduced about 96%. On the other hands, if we apply the proposed initial image to other decoding algorithms, the faster convergence speed is expected.

  • Block based LCD backlight nonideality and crosstalk compensation methodologies are proposed based on the analysis of backlight profiles and image pixel homogeneity. Large computation complexity required in the conventional compensations is minimized without the degradation of image qualities by optimizing image block size, image area inside the block to be excluded from the compensation computation and the required backlight range to be computed. The optimization results of computation complexity as well as image qualities are verified for the proposed compensation by real image data simulations.
