Automated Inspection System Using Image Processing Technology for Automotive Components (영상처리 기법을 이용한 자동차부품의 자동검사시스템 개발)

  • This paper presents an integrated and automated inspection system using image processing technology for the automotive engine assembly process. The system make it possible for the inspected data to be entered directly from the machine vision into the statistical process control system. Such direct entry enables the prompt preparation of corrective actions against process problems. An IVP-150 machine vision board is installed within the PC for image processing, and a template matching technology is implemented to precisely verify quality factors. The developed system showed robustness to the problems of noise, distortion, and orientation.

  • Recently SMT is used widely to place the SMD on bare board which is very small and highly integrated. And that is one of the issue directly in the electric products assembly process and especiallly in the field of optimizing electric product's performance, automatically tuning method which is highly demanded in the electronics industry. To tune product's performance, variable resistances's resistivity should be changed until it has good performance characteristics. In this paper to automatically regulate the 8mm camcoder's performance, it is proposed variable resistence's center position and orientation detection algorithm by image processing, which has very precise and accurate result. And we found optimal conditions which can have effects on image acquisition process. And real time processing is done by DSP to detect vr's center and orientation. This results make it possible to utilize proposed image processing algorithm and system directly in electronics industry.

  • DR (Digital Radiography) system will be the best candidate for next generation x-ray diagnosis system. DR system will replace x-ray film by computer monitor and provide various merits like reduced processing time, easy recording, remote diagnosis and etc. In this paper, we propose the pre-processing algorithm which is designed to compensate dead and defected pixel for x-ray detector panel. We also designed DSP(Digital Signal Processor) based DR image processing board for real-time processing of suggested algorithm.

  • In this paper, we installed three high brightness red, green, and blue LED in one socket and made one pixel unit. And we also developed the full-color display board module and control unit which can express various images such as text, graphics, video image with the combination of pixel units and a number of modules. LED display driver module have a driver circuit within the combination of the RGB pixel dot on unit area. These modules of the existing form can be high priced because of implementation a fixed resolution in specific space and installation space. To overcome these shortcomings, we developed a LED driver and LED pixel modules free in array at random pitch intervals. Display board module of this paper enabled to display smoothly video image which have many data processing quantity through dragging data speed up 36 frames per second. Also there are an effect which is provided more clear image because of improving the flickering of the existing display board.

  • In this research, an Electronic White Board Control System is developed that stores and prints the data written on the white board. This control system is constructed using an embedded single board PC, whose function is the acquisition(from CCD image sensor system), processing and storing of the data on the screen. The properties of this system are as follows: 1. The system is able to move the screen on the right and left. 2. The system is able to output the data written on the screen to a connected printer. 3. The system is controlled by an external remote PC connected to the system by serial line as well as by the keys on the control panel.   • An automated system using a embedded board is required to generate the notation input of the offline Go game. This paper integrates shape and color information of the objects on the Go game board for light-insensitive processing and reduces the computation step. This paper combined the detection of obstacles using connected components with the computation of canny edge detection and HSV-based detection. As a result, the processing time is reduced in the embedded environment so that reliable notation can be automatically stored even in real-time play environment.

  • In this paper, we proposed the adaptive local sigma filter reducing noises generated by an image sensor. The small noises generated by the image sensor are amplified by increased an analog gain and an exposure time of the image sensor together with information. And the goal of this work was the system design that is reduce the these amplified noises. Edge data are extracted by Flatness Index Map algorithm. We made the threshold adaptively changeable by the luminance average in this algorithm that extracts the edge data not in high luminance, but just low luminance. The Local Sigma Filter performed only about the edge pixel that were extracted by Flatness Index Map algorithm. To verify the performance of the designed filter, we made the Window test program. The hardware was designed with HDL language. We verified the hardware performance of Local Sigma Filter system using FPGA Demonstration board and HD image sensor, $1280{\times}720$ image size and 30 frames per second.

  • The goals of this papper are not only to maximize of performance but also to reduce the response time for the real-time printed alphabets recognition system using the backpropagation algorithm in the artificial neural network. The Genesis board and MIL(Matrox Image Library) package were used to real-time acquisition, processing and display of images. Through this experiment proved the possibility of real-time recognition processing by comparing response times of the system and proposing the method to reduce of order of the output vectors.

  • This study was conducted to develop an imaging processing system of inoculation processing of a lily callus. The image processing system was composed of a camera, a image processing board, and etc. And the illuminance always decided by setting up 55W/3 wavelength lamp respectively on all aspects and the side was maintained by the lighting part. The image characteristic was examined according to each frame of RGB,therefore the culture vessel was able to be separated with B frame. The required time was 2.2 seconds in one cycle from the image acquisition to obtaining the result. The recognition rate of the container was 100%, and the result of image processing showed that the recognition success rate of lily callus was 93%.

  • Compact Camera Module(CCM) is widely used in PDA, Celluar phone and PC web camera. With the greatly increasing use for mobile applications, there has been a considerable demands for high speed production of CCM. The major burden of production of CCM is assembly of lens module onto CCD or CMOS packaged circuit board. After module is assembled, the CCM is inspected. In this paper, we developed the image capture board for CCM and the imaging processing algorithm to inspect the defects in captured image of assembled CCMs. The performances of the developed inspection system and its algorithm are tested on samples of 10000 CCMs. Experimental results reveal that the proposed system can focus the lens of CCM within 5s and we can recognize various types of defect of CCM modules with good accuracy and high speed.
