NOW(Network of Workstations) is considered as a platform for running parallel programs by many people. One of the fundamental problems that must be addressed to achieve good performance for parallel programs on NOW is the determination of efficient job scheduling policies. Currently most research on NOW assumes that all the workstations in the NOW have the same processing power. In this paper we consider a NOW in which workstations may have different computing power. We introduce 10 classes of space sharing-based scheduling policies that can be applied to the NOW with heterogeneous computing power. We compare the performance of these scheduling policies by using the simulator which accepts synthetically generated sequential and parallel workloads and generates the response time and waiting time of parallel jobs as performance indices of various scheduling strategies. Through the experiments the case when a parallel program is partitioned heterogeneously in proportion to the computing power of workstations is shown to have better performance than when a parallel program is partitioned into parallel processes of the same size. When the owner returns to the workstation which is executing a parallel process, the policy which just lowers the priority of the parallel process shows better performance than the one which migrates the parallel process to a new idle workstation. Among the policies which use heterogeneous partitioning and process priority lowering, the adaptive policy performed best across the wide range of inter-arrival time of parallel programs but when the load imbalance among parallel processes becomes very high, the modified adaptive policy performed better.
The Officially Announced Land Price System has a limit, that is required to be able to reflect changes in land constantly every year, to implement Land Characteristic Survey for calculating land price during a specific period and human resources with limited. The purpose of this study is to apply the 'National Territory Space Usage status Survey' method to survey part of the territorial feature status information inside of selected the target sites, considering the core survey items (land category, the state of land use, altitude difference, standard site inclusion, etc) in the areas surrounding Yeonshinnae Station in which three dongs (Galhyeon-dong, Daejo-dong, Bulgwang-dong) of Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul share borders with. Based on the given budget, the manpower and period was taken into consideration to sort a total of 2,041 lots and conduct surveys on all sites. This study will be able to diagnose the efficient idle human resource utilization and work process construction plan through pilot projects specialized for providing real estate information services in preparation for cases in which national territory information survey projects that provide various business model, as well as major future core projects of the corporation will be carried out.

Rural spaces are increasingly valuable as areas for introducing renewable energy infrastructure to achieve carbon neutrality. Rural areas are the living grounds of rural residents, and the balance of conservation and development for rural areas is important for the introduction of reasonable facilities. In order to maintain a balance between development and preservation and to introduce reasonable renewable energy facilities, it is necessary to develop a current status survey and an effective survey method to utilize a space capable of introducing renewable energy facilities such as idle land and vacant houses. Therefore, this study was conducted to verify the readability using an unmanned aerial vehicle, and the main results are as follows. The detection of photovoltaic power generation facilities using unmanned aerial vehicles was effective in analyzing the location and area of photovoltaic panels located on the roofs of buildings, and it was possible to calculate the expected power generation by region through the area calculation of photovoltaic panels. The vacant house detection can be used to select an investigation target for an vacant house condition survey as it can identify damage to buildings that are expected to be empty houses, management status, and electricity supply facilities through aerial photos. It is judged that the unmanned aerial vehicle detection capability can be utilized as a method to improve the efficiency of investigation and supplement the data related to solar power generation facilities and vacant houses provided by public institutions. Although this study detected the status of solar power generation facilities and vacant houses through high-resolution aerial image analysis, as a follow-up study, automatic measurement methods using the temperature difference of solar power generation facilities and general characteristics of vacant houses that can be read from the air were investigated. If the deriving research is carried out, it is judged that it will be possible to contribute to the improvement of the accuracy of the detection result using the unmanned aerial vehicle and the expansion of the application range.
Along with changes in the industrial structure, revitalizing decrepit or abandoned industrial-age infrastructures are actively under way on a global scale. This study was motivated by an interest in investigating currently idle industrial infrastructures and revitalizing the abandoned passenger ferry terminal in Geoje's Jangseungpo and surrounding areas. The main aims of this study were to examine regional features for the purpose of establishing urban renewal plans and field opinions of the local residents on how to proceed with the restoration of the passenger ferry terminal. To this end, this paper looked into previous case studies of converting decrepit industrial infrastructures into new cultural venues, depending on each region's special circumstances. This paper's findings are as follows: First, as a result of this investigation, the author found that in all cases in Korea and elsewhere revitalization focused on creating modern cultural spaces appropriate for the region while retaining its traditional value. At the same time, they sought sustainable cultural and economic revival. Second, as a result of the investigation on Geoje City's local characteristics, the author found that the surrounding areas' commercial districts were depressed after the terminal's closure. At the time of the investigation, the city government was trying to reopen the terminal as a major port offering multiple international ferry destinations while attracting tourists. Third, as a result of the surveys on the local residents, it was found that more than half of the residents were in agreement with the city government's plan to reopen the terminal and expressed their wishes that they want the terminal to have other uses such as cultural venues. Based on these research results, the author makes proposals, including expanding the passenger ferry terminal and offering cultural spaces within and near the terminal, based on the local residents' opinions and in reflection of local circumstances. As part of this effort, the author also recommends a new brand name and design plan for the new passenger ferry terminal so that Geoje City can improve its local community value.

Car sharing, which is considered as a good example of innovation in the transportation sector, is a type of use in which a plurality of people share a single vehicle for a short period of time. It is divided into various types, NFP (Not For Profit) operated by a non-profit organization, B2C (Business to Customer), which is operated by a company, and Peer to Peer (P2P), which is directly connected to an individual. Among them, P2P car sharing is a method of sharing personal vehicles owned by individuals. It has the merit of reducing traffic congestion and providing for efficient traffic demand management by reducing the purchase rate of additional vehicles and minimizing the number of idle ones. This study examines the introduction of P2P car sharing in order to develop a traffic demand management policy and facilitate the transition to a sustainable transportation system. The spatial extent of the study consisted of apartment complexes in Seoul. In apartment complexes, it is possible to minimize the level of expenditure, such as operating expenses, by utilizing the APT management office and there is no difficulty in securing the necessary parking space. Therefore, apartment complexes were selected as the spatial range.

A stacking yard of a container terminal is a space for temporarily storing the containers that are carried in or imported until they are carried out or exported. If the containers are stacked in an inappropriate way, the efficiency of operation at the time of loading decreases significantly due to the rehandlings. The remarshaling is the task of rearranging containers during the idle time of transfer crane for the effective loading operations. This paper proposes a method of planning for remarshaling in a yard block of an automated container terminal. Our method conducts a search in two stages. In the first stage, the target stacking configuration is determined in such a way that the throughput of loading is maximized. In the second stage, the crane schedule is determined so that the remarshaling task can be completed as fast as possible in moving the containers from the source configuration to the target configuration. Simulation experiments have been conducted to compare the efficiency of loading operations before and after remarshaling. The results show that our remarshaling plan is really effective in increasing the efficiency of loading operation.

The studies were carried out to develop an urban forest aromatic bath in the idle space within city area for handicapped persons, patients and city workers, who having less chance to visit the natural forest aromatic bath. The environmental conditions were checked in the experimental double vinyl house where native and exotic aromatic woody and herbaceous plants were growing with minimum energy input in the periods of mid-winter and mid-summer. The growth and photoperiodic responses of the plants to the low and high temperatures were observed during winter and summer respectively. The most of herbaceous plants in the double vinyl house with the controlled minimum night temperature of $-2^{\circ}C$ had no winter injury but did not grow and started the growth in April. The exotic herbs such as Catnip faassen's(Nepeta x faassenia) and Lemon bergamot(Monarda citriodora) grew better in the longer photoperiodic conditions. The growth rates of Abies koreana, Thuja koraiensis and Pinus sylvestriformis in the early spring were affected mainly by the night minimum temperature and less affected by the photoperiodic conditions during winter. The native aromatic herbs such as Robdosia japonica, Molsa punctulata, Agastache rugosa and Codonopsis lanceolata showed stimulatory growth at the 16 hours day-length in case of the high temperature vinyl hose. The height and root collar diameter growth of pine seedlings were inhibited in maxim temperatures over $40^{\circ}C$ during summer.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of a comparative process so that students majoring in urban planning and design can develop the ability to present non-physical alternatives along with the ability to present alternatives to a physical environment to solve urban problems. A total of 30 students majoring in urban planning and urban design were analyzed for their satisfaction with their majors, intention to find a job related to their majors, and academic achievement. This was done after conducting a comparative course of living-lab projects utilizing idle space in a region in connection with a major education course for about a year. For the analysis, the four-group design used by Solomon was used to find the differences between students who participated in the class and those who did not. The analysis showed that the students who participated in the comparative course of the living-lab project were highly satisfied with their major and their intention to find a job related to their major. The results of this study suggest that the process of cultivating the ability to work with local residents and merchants to present physical and non-physical alternatives to solve local problems by utilizing the means of living lab projects has a positive effect on the students' attachment to their majors and their self-esteem.
In Korea, the urban studies of geography have mainly dealt with such a series of research as system of urban place and internal structure of urban area. The existing studies have been carried out with ecological approach. Ecologists, now a days, regard organiation and transfor-mation of the urban space as the process of invasion, succession, and segregation. However it is more proper that cities should be considered not as fragmantary objects, as some ecologists insist, but as synthetic ones in social structure. This research, with adopting a case of the renewasl of central area in Seoul, tried to make it clear that the formation and transition of the city is a product of social structure and examined polical and economic logic which exists in variation of urban space in detail. The results of this study are as follows; Urban renewal of central area is closely related with production and reproduction in capitalist society. In urban center, as business activities had increased since 1973 due to decen-tralization of production process, the necessity of reorganizing the land use in existing central area accordingly increased. The urban renewal program of central area in Seoul was inrroduced under such situation. The urban renewal of central area reflecting the capital logic has changed the central area with six hundred year's tradition. From the urban renewal of central area, not only was the central area, which traditionally had been mixed with various fun-ctions, simplified into the unitary area of busi-ness, but also physical landscape changed. As the land lot in renewal area expanded into regular shape, buildings became larger and taller. The program tremendously raised the price of related area. Aiming at these profits caused by the raised price, a great number of capitalists participated in the program. And as the benefit ratio of the manufacture sector continuously dropped with the economic recession, the pro-gram was carried out much more vigorously. That was because the idle capital accumulated during the recession was invested in property sector and was self-proliferated. The urban renewal raised the land value of central area and drove out the people living in this area. The people moved into the whole parts of the city resulting diffused squatter settlements. And the urban changes in central area were results of the policy of municipal authorities, who supported and systematized the changes lawfully and administratively, as well as reali-zation of capital logic. Due to the renewal policies of central area in Seoul, much more renewals by the only capitalists were carried out than those by the people themselves living in that area. The integration of land ownership in the law of urban renewal shows the reason of that. Moreover, the law allows the third deve-loper to participate in the tasks and admits the land expropriation rights. The municipal autho-rities guaranteed the profitability of the tasks through finacial aid, tax benifit, and relaxation of regulations for construction. As examined above, the changes in the land use of urban space have been led not by the ecological process of development of the city itself, but by the restructuring of capitalism and the intervention of the government authorities.

Pollinators are organisms that carry out the pollination process of plants and include Hymenoptera, Lepidoptera, Diptera, and Coleoptera. Among them, bees not only pollinate plants but also improve urban green spaces damaged by land use changes, providing a habitat and food for birds and insects. Today, however, the number of pollinating plants is decreasing due to issues such as early flowering due to climate change, fragmentation of green spaces due to urbanization, and pesticide use, which in turn leads to a decline in bee populations. The decline of bee populations directly translates into problems, such as reduced biodiversity in cities and decreased food production. Urban beekeeping has been proposed as a strategy to address the decline of bee populations. However, there is a problem asurban beekeeping strategies are proposed without considering the complex structure of the socio-ecological system consisting of bees foraging and pollination activities and are therefore unsustainable. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the socio-ecological system of honeybees, which are pollinators, structurally using system thinking and propose a green space planning strategy to revitalize urban beekeeping. For this study, previous studies that centered on the social and ecological system of bees in cities were collected and reviewed to establish the system area and derive the main variables for creating a causal loop diagram. Second, the ecological structure of bees' foraging and pollination activities and the structure of bees' ecological system in the city were analyzed, as was the social-ecological system structure of urban beekeeping by creating an individual causal loop diagram. Finally, the socio-ecological system structure of honey bees was analyzed from a holistic perspective through the creation of an integrated causal loop diagram. Citizen participation programs, local government investment, and the creation of urban parks and green spaces in idle spaces were suggestedas green space planning strategies to revitalize urban beekeeping. The results of this study differ from previous studies in that the ecological structure of bees and the social structure of urban beekeeping were analyzed from a holistic perspective using systems thinking to propose strategies, policy recommendations, and implications for introducing sustainable urban beekeeping.
