This paper starts with the assumption that in order for hanbok to be made known to the world as a cultural code representing Korean beauty, it must first be made familiar among Koreans with opportunities for widespread use of hanbok in a way which forms an understanding with the fashion sense of young generations, and that wearing hanbok must be promoted. We observe the contents and problems of past hanbok festivals and provide methods to promote the wearing of hanbok among the population, creating an occasion for mingling with various cultures in hanbok events which may be experienced by the general population, and developing hanbok as a tourist item and promoting the hanbok industry through standardized hanbok festivals. Globalization of hanbok most occur through a combination of related academic fields, division of roles in fields of expertise, and a scientific understanding of hanbok. The re-creating of traditional hanbok will allow for affirmation of Korean image, a rediscovery of the value of Korean culture, and the establishment of cultural identity. The development of such global designs will form a foundation for hallyu wave culture within popular culture.
The culture of Korea shows political and religious discrimination by changed the era, but in the culture the inherent spirit of Koreans has been more specific at various angles to. But in the last several decades looking at the domestic furniture design field, the introduction of Western technology with high-tech, the mechanical plastics of modern Western European furniture, and imitations have been flooded. Owing to them our spirit were soon altered and made to face the current leads to confusion. Fortunately, in the latest national and international design fair the domestic furniture companies are breaking the ambiguous identity of the design in the meantime they keep studying and developing of our spirit and the demands of the times. Moreover, a new awareness and heightened interest on Korean traditional and stylish furniture are more elevated. At this moment, a study on the Connectivity of Aesthetic Consciousness Appearing in Korean Traditional Architecture and Furniture is required to overcome the today's confusion and to establish identity and the direction of the domestic furniture industry. Thus, this paper purposes to present the new direction for domestic furniture industry by researching and analyzing on the Korean traditional architecture and traditional furniture with the Korean spirit and a sense of beauty.

This thesis is to discuss and prove the identity of the acts of the library and the character of the library which regards these as its objects. And this study is analyzed in view of per ceptual problems and scientific problems and scientific problems, in order to make clear the character of the acts of the library. In these processes, some basic propositions are extracted. First, culture can be found in arranged order. Second, human being can create culture by the acquisition of accmulated culture. Third, an individual is purposely related with culture. Fourth, culture is antonomous to mankind. And in this thesis, library science is defined as the systematic formation of mankind's pursuing acts, and to identify this definition, some theoretical models of library science have been offered as follows : Model I 1. Theory of making culture assets informative. 2. Theory of making culture assets empirical; that of imformation treatment. 3. Theory of medial acts of librarians. Model II 4. Theory of organic systems of libraries. Model III 5. Theory of guiding school activities. 6. Theory of extending the inhabitants' interests of communities. 7. Theory of a kind of resources in social improvement. Model IV 8. Theory of a means of principal approach to the succession of culture. In conclusion, this study is to prove that acts of libraries are the universal ones of those human being that are gualified to be the unique means to the creation of culture and, library science is a science that shapes concepts and rules to describe, to make explanation and to foretell these acts.
Daily dance Ganggangsullae is recommended for youth to help their diet, improve their team life and know Korean culture. Its performance costumes were fusion hanbok and casual wear shown at the Second Daily Dance Ganggangsullae Contest Conference of Myeongryang Battle Festival in 2013. A fusion hanbok shows the Korean traditional spirit, but it is not practical. Casual wear is practical, but it does not show any Korean identity. Therefore, their combination is needed to reflect the Korean identity and practicality. For this, a literature review and an online search were conducted for the history, purpose and dance motion of daily dance Ganggangsullae. And photographs of participating teams were gathered from Jeonnam Information & Culture Industry Promotion Agency. Goguryeo costumes were used for design motifs. Four designs were sets of T-shirts and pants for the summer. Style 1 is designed using sam, jikryeong, go, round and triangle pattern with rippled cotton. Colors were from Wang Huiji's mural painting. Style 2 is designed using dansuui, beonryeong, go, round and quadrangle patterns with rippled cotton. Colors were from a Deokheungri mural painting. Style 3 is designed using sam, round ryeong, go, quadrangle patterns, prints with cotton jersey and denim. Colors were from a Gamsinchong mural painting. Style 4 is designed using dansuui, jikryeong, go, a flame pattern, a bow and arrow shape with cotton, knit and jersey. Colors were from a Muyongchong mural painting. This study is helpful to anyone who wants to develop Korean-style performance costumes.
The purpose of this research is to analyze male oriented military culture and gender discrimination. It examined whether the experience of military service would affect the attitude of Korean college students, gender role identity, and sexism by classifying 317 college students into three groups; males who have completed military service, males who haven't completed military service, and a female group. Research results are as follows: First, in general military experience did not enhance awareness of gender identity nor affect attitudes toward gender discrimination, but significantly enhanced masculinity in some males who completed military service was a major factor in strengthening masculinity and benevolent sexism. Second, males who completed military service and women had a more positive view of the military than males who had yet to serve in the military. Third, regardless of military experience and gender, military experience was perceived to enhance benevolent sexism towards women. Fourth, all three groups showed a strikingly positive correlation in hostile sexism and benevolent sexism. However, they did not show a significant difference in the correlation of groups. Tough these results indicate that deep-rooted gender discrimination in Korean society is enhanced by military experience, it also confirms the significance and impact of the reality of the military ideology.

Architectural space consists of the interior and the exterior. The layout and form of architectural space has a great variety of characters by region and culture. In other words, it can be understood which has a priority between the interior and the exterior in developing the layout and the form of architectural space. Belonging to the culture area of Chinese characters with Korea, Japan has maintained its own identity. It has an identity in the layout and form of architectural space as well. Therefore, the architecture and architectural theories of the two countries were compared and analyzed with priority given to the traditional architecture extending to the contemporary architecture, also the backgrounds of architecture and architectural theories of two countries were examined in this study. This study shows that each country has different characters in how to introduce nature, how to expand space and how to compose windows, including the view of nature and the cult of space. As a result, the space in Korean architecture has relatively the exterior-oriented character but in Japan architecture spatial character is interior-oriented. The interior-oriented character can be relevant to the word ‘reduction’ and the exterior-oriented character to ‘extension’ after all. This article attempts to define identity, role and functions of a university museum and to suggest specialization of the university museum in the perspective of culture, arts, and science. A university museum is defined as a center for the service of the university community and its development which acquires, researches, communicates, exhibits and educates, for purposes of eduinfotainment,29 material evidence of people and their environment. The target user of the today's university museum are not only professors, students, university workers, but also university neighbourhood such as the related professionals, patrons, parents, school children and villagers. A multi-dimensional and multi-purpose university museum can be established and managed in a real world and / or a cyber world in the perspective of culture, arts, and science. Based on a ubiquitous system30 in a cyber world vis-a-vie a real world, the university museum can be easily utilized by users anywhere, anytime and any device. In order to specialize the university museum in the perspective of culture, arts and science, it is desirable that the university museum director with the CEO of the university community promote the specialization of the university museum based on philosophy and strategies of university community management after they definitely evaluate the components and resources of the university museum such as human powers, museum collections, organizational, technological, capital, spacial and symbolic resources, The specialization of the university museum should be projected and executed in the direction of maintaining the typical scope of museum activities and managing the effective museum management. Specializing the university museum in the perspective of culture, arts, and science can contribute not only to establish the identity of the university community and to perform role and functions of the university museum but also to encourage academic development, to revaluate the brand of the university community and to promote the marketing for the university.
In times when identity-principles dominate through culture-industry, it appears to be the idea of the perfect identity-knowledge which Hegel had required for philosophy to become true. By being produced, cultures, according to the principle of production for production itself, became commodities which can be exchanged in the market. So what cannot be exchanged in the market is excluded as worthless and useless. As culture-industry gets rid of room for the new and the experience of it, the experience of what is new became impossible. In such degrees the consciousness is reificated, and the freedom as autonomy becomes an empty concept. But if there is not the freedom of will, conscious thought will not be possible, and human beings will degenerate into a simple species. Nevertheless, freedom which becomes meaningless in reality is an essential element for a human being to be human, so in the times when consciousness is reificated by means of the culture-industry, as the autonomous art awakens a reificated consciousness, it will be the antidote of a reificated consciousness which makes free thought and action possible. In this sense, this study will try to justify the aesthetic experience as shudder through the experience of what cannot be exchanged that becomes possible with critics regarding the constructive imperfection of identity-knowledge. Then it will argue that the aesthetic experience as shudder makes the autonomous art possible.

This paper investigates how Korean newly-composed pieces (Changjak Gukak) can be used as good cultural contents to publicize a characteristic and nowness of Korean culture in the era of globalization, focusing on the works of composer Seong-Cheon Lee. LEE Seong-Cheon is a typical Changjak Gukak composer who academically and creatively speculated Korean tradition and identity. In his works, traditional ones, natural-thematic ones, nationalistic ones, and Korean literary-thematic ones are the works which have a possibility to use cultural contents with respect to the Korean traditional culture and identity. This study dealt with the fact that newly-composed pieces based on traditional music can play a significant role in expanding Korean cultural contents between tradition and modern.
