  • Purpose: This study sought to verify the usefulness of mini-implant and surgical steel wire in the treatment of mandibular fracture through the objective identifi cation of the change of bone structure and bone density before and after reduction by evaluating radiological change through fractal analysis when mandibular fracture is treated using mini-implant and surgical wire. Materials and Methods: This study looked at 45 patients (males: 38, female: 7) diagnosed with mandibular fracture in the oral and maxillofacial surgery division of Chung-Ang University Dental Hospital and who received open reduction and intra-osseous fi xation. Result: The average fracture dimension values were higher for the group of the patients who had mini-implants and surgical wire treatment. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study on the usefulness of the reduction technique using mini-implant and surgical steel wire in the treatment of mandibular fracture through the fractal analysis method, the reduction technique using mini-implant and surgical steel wire is regarded as an effective method of minimizing the gap between mandibular fracture fragments.

  • This paper investigates the identification and modeling of a climate greenhouse. Given real climate data from greenhouse installed in the LAPER laboratory in Tunisia, the objective of this paper is to propose a solution of the problem of nonlinear time variant inputs and outputs of greenhouse internal climate. Based on fuzzy logic technique combined with least mean squares (lms) a robust greenhouse climate model for internal temperature prediction is proposed. The simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the identification approach and the power of the implemented Takagi-Sugeno Fuzzy model based Algorithm.

Marketing to Asian Americans: The Impact of Acculturation and Interpersonal Influence on Ethnocentric Consumer Preferences (문화변용과 대인영향력이 민족중심적 소비자 선호도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 - 아시아계 미국인을 중심으로 -)

  • The acculturation of ethnic minorities is an increasingly important issue. This paper explores the role of two factors which may be related to Asian Americans' development of preferences for ethnic or non-ethnic shopping: level of acculturation and susceptibility to interpersonal influence. Several prior studies have found that strength of ethnic identification (a measure of level of acculturation) accounts for differences in consumption patterns among immigrant groups. The results of this study suggest that ethnic identification is not a unidimensional construct. Instead, two construct, ethnic identification and consumer socialization are found to be relatedto the level of influence exerted by culturally consistent in-group than "American." A strong positive relationship is found between ethnic identifi.cation and ethnocentric purchasing preferences. In contrast, no significant direct relationship between level of.consumer socialization and ethnocentric preferences is found. Implications for marketers are discussed.

  • This study was conducted to develop a traceability system for systematic animal identifi- cation to increase efficiency of animal production, post production and processing to ensure that quality and sanitary meat products reach the consumers of the entire country. The new animal identification traceability system was designed for easy management, data collection and storage considering bar code, registration number and farm number.Specifically the system aimed 1) To provide standard radio frequency technology identification (RF-ID) for livestock management, standard of ear tag, microchip and ear tag identification equipment, 2) To guarantee meat product label thereby safeguarding the consumers 3) To give incentives to farmers for producing quality meat products and 4) To provide unified system for national livestock management. Results of the research which started in July 2003 which was used by several farmers’ cooperatives and Department Store revealed the feasibility of using the RF-ID system although much will be done to conform to global nomenclatures.
