An accurate evaluation of educational process is a promise for the progress of education, because evaluation provides a meticulous idea of what has actually been achieved as a result of education. However, for all its significance in the educational fields, there are not many discussions about evaluation in South Korea. We believe that in order to overcome this discrepancy, diverse evaluation theories along with a discussion about the merits or demerits or each theory should be introduced in South Korea. We propose that Eisner's educational evaluation model may suggest alternative ways of perceiving evaluation. Eisner's educational evaluation model, named educational connoisseurship and criticism, emerged as an approach to educational evaluation from the methods used in art and literary criticism.

Big ideas are overarching principles that help students to build a holistic understanding of domain-specific knowledge and assimilate individual facts and theories. This study aims to design a standard-based integrated science curriculum framework based on Big Ideas. The core contents were extracted by analysing the 2009 National Science Standards curriculum of primary and middle schools. Four Big Ideas, 'diversity,' 'structure,' 'interaction,' and 'change,' were generated after the process of examination and categorization of core contents. The scientific facts, disciplinary concepts, and interdisciplinary concepts of every scientific domains included in each Big Idea are represented as a knowledge pyramid. Essential questions guiding the direction of curriculum design were proposed on each Big idea. Based on the framework, teaching modules for 'structure' were developed for grades 5~6.

Economic evaluation methodologies for railway investments of China and Korea are comparatively analyzed. Chinese procedures specified in the new economic evaluation manual of 1997 were compared with those of Korea based on the economic evaluation manual of 1982. As expected those procedures reflect general economic requirements of the respective countries. Several differences in the specification are also noted. Details of the specification of Chinese procedure far exceed Korean specification, while Korean manual is rich of explanation on the fundamental theory. Differences in the procedure of calculating benefits of investments are most conspicuous, and specific requirements of carrying out a optimum opening year analysis in Korean procedure is notable. Despite of these differences in the procedure, two methodologies share same objective of ensuring selection of economically and financially sound railway projects. Both procedures of China and Korea, however, limit their evaluation scope on railways alone. Therefore, they are needed to expand scope of evaluation to encompass the idea of multi-modal or inter-modal evaluation, which will eventually contribute to build truly efficient national comprehensive transportation system.

Value Engineering(VE) at design phase(so-called Design-VE) becomes quite a compulsory solution for better customer satisfaction, cost reduction, higher product performance, and, eventually, insured predominance in the competition. Unlike intended, however, the customer requirement on Design-VE has not been fully reflected in reality. Furthermore, the Design-VE occasionally does not progress in regular sequence; Preparation for measuring customer requirement - Function analysis - Idea creation. Therefore, this study suggests Axiomatic Design Theory to be adopted in Design-VE process expecting that the functions required by the customer could systematically reflected in VE process. Post-occupancy Evaluation(POE) is also represented as a method to measure and arrange the customer requirements. The customer satisfaction Design-VE process creates ideas defining functions in more detailed, to reflect the concrete user requirement. This approach helps function analysis and idea creation linked closely because function and idea are developed zigzag (i.e. function - idea - function...) in being decomposed into level down. The application of the process proposed by this study will be helpful to improve the customer requirement measurement and clarify a link between functions and ideas.

This year of 2009 is the 420th anniversary for the high treason case in the year of ox (year 1589). Until now, there is an endless discussion still progressing about Jeong, Yeo Rip. The evaluation of such individual varies widely according to the viewpoint of each individual. However, the problem is that such confusion or issue is exaggerated under the pretense of his idea's progressivity. The true identity and ideology of Jeong, Yeo Rip will become clear once we review such fact from the origin. This article considered abstract and ideological evaluation of occasion and took its approach thoroughly based on the historical research of literature. Until now, some parts academic world have denied and argued about the fabrication about every details of Jeong, Yeo Rip and event of high treason in the year of ox while accepting the habitual sentence spoken by such individual without a doubt. They have exaggerated Jeong, Yeo Rip as an 'Incompleted Revolutionist' or 'Individual of Revolutionary Ideology'. However, it is imprecise to speak about the terminology of 'Revolutionary'. His ideology is simply elucidating the principal of original Confucianism or a new interpretation of the principle of Confucianism. Jeong, Yeo Rip wanted to contradict the system of national school based on the Zhu-xi's ideology and returned to the principle of original Confucianism. His idea of utopia based on the Confucianism arouse out of the intention of reviving the spirit of original Confucianism. His antagonistic propensity to Zhu-xi's ideology or political idea has transcended the principle of justification based on Sung Confucianism and was also logical and realistic. He was forced on to the deadly circumstance since the society of Joseon Dynasty couldn't accept such logical and progressive idea and deemed him to be nothing more than a disturbing element for the society.

The purpose of this study is to present the objective evaluation semantic scale of avant-garde design. Apparel majors were asked to express associative vocabulary, design development, and final design intentions for the avant-garde, and the final 70 copies were used for analysis. The results found the item style was shown often in the order of dress, coat, and combination of shirt and pants. In order, the silhouettes appeared as atypical, complex, square, and triangular; the decorations appeared as feathers, frills, and round sculptures; and the idea method appeared as extreme, association, and removal method. In examining the relations of associative words and idea designs, the dress had relations with associative words such as 'peculiar,' 'futuristic,' 'fancy,' 'Comme des Garcons,' and 'deconstruction.' As for the relationship between the idea design and the expression image vocabulary, it was found that 'one piece' recalled 'huge,' 'volume,' 'abundant,' 'peculiar,' and 'unknown,' while 'coat' recalled 'huge,' 'big silhouette,' and 'padding.' In conducting the word cloud technique, the overall design showed the central keywords were 'huge,' 'big silhouette,' 'unbalance,' 'feather,' 'structural,' 'unknown,' and 'frill,' in order.

It is booming to use computer and information owing to the information society. As software applications have grown, so too has the importance of software quality. Therefore, software quality measurement and evaluation are necessary to satisfy the users who are using computers. The ISO/IEC 9126 defines six quality characteristics and twenty-one subcharacteristics including forty inter quality characteristics. We developed software measurement and evaluation technique using the check list in accordance with the ISO/IEC 9126 in design phase. We applied idea and concept of Total Quality Management in order to evaluate and measure the quality of software. Namely, it is the concept such as "you should do it right the first time." or "you have to build quality in the process." We executed the quantitative evaluation of software, also had shown the distinctive result in order that users and developers can find the errors easily. We evaluated the quality of academic softwares in order to verify developing technique at S college. As a result of the evaluation, this college has found it necessary to maintain the software as soon as possible because academic systems are not adequate for users at this present time.

This study was conducted to understand the environmental and ecological function of habitat through evaluation of water environment, soil environment, vegetation characteristics, macro-invertebrate characteristics, and visual habits environment evaluation (SVAP) in Hongdong stream located in Hongseong-Gun, Chungnam Province, and hereafter to utilize the results for the habits reconstruction and improvement project. As the results of water quality analysis, BOD, COD, T-P was almost below the standard quality from upper stream to down stream. The construction of small reservoir, wetland and water purification facility, and the management of non-point pollution are proposed to improve these problems. The soil texture was sandy soil, which is unfitted with vegetation development. The construction of shallows and bogs, and induction of soil sedimentation and biotope formation are proposed to improve these problems. In the plant flora, total 90 kinds were observed with 81 species and nine varieties in total 36 families and 85 genera, and the naturalization rate was higher at down area than upper area. As the results of macro-invertebrate fauna survey, total 26 species and 297 individuals in 20 families and 22 genera were collected. Peltodytes sinensis, Chironomidae sp., and Culicidae sp., which are observed at polluted environment, were collected as dominant species. An appropriate vegetation management party idea is necessary, and it is done an idea in consideration of the soil and a physical characteristic. Visual habits environment evaluation (SVAP) result was mostly determined with below normal (Fair) grade. Pollution source interception, purification pond establishment, and various bog establishment are proposed to improve these problems. With the above results, the ecological environment was determined with bad condition, and the improvement of biotope was urgently needed through sustainable monitoring and management of streams habitat in rural area.

This paper is very exploratory and addresses the issue 'Is a general quality model of software possible?'. If possible, how specific can/should it be?' ISO 25000 Series SQuaRE is generally regarded as a general quality model which can be applied to most kinds of software. Usability is one of the 8 characteristics of SQuaRE's Product Quality Model. It is the main issue associated with SQuaRE's Quality in Use Model too. it is the most important concept associated software quality since using is the only ultimate goal of software products. Playability, however, is generally regarded as a special type of usability, which can be applied to game software. This common idea contradicts with the idea that SQuaRE is valid for most kinds, at least many kinds, of software. The empirical evidences of this paper show that SQuaRE is too specific to be a general quality model of software.

Adaptive optics(AO) removes or compensates the distortion caused by a turbulent atmosphere or medium. A wavefront sensormeasures the distortion, on which the correction of AO is based. A new idea of pupil plane wavefront sensing, which consists of a relay lens and a pyramidal-shaped prism, was previously proposed. This paper reviews the idea of pupil wavefrontsensing and presents prism, was previously proposed. The simulation shows that pupilwavefront sensing provides full wavefront sensing when the intensity peak of PSF is located within half of the Airy radius from the apex of the sensor. Adding to this, the sensor is shown to have optimum sensor output with a finite bevel size of the pyramidal prism.
