A computer simulation with predict the fuel injection rates and the fuel injection pressure behaviors in diesel engine fuel injection systems would by very useful in designing or improving fuel injection systems. In this paper we developed computer program in order to predict the behaviors of the fuel injection rate and the injection pressure for Electronic Hydraulic Ultra-High Pressure Fuel Injection System. We've applied the continuity and momentum equations for the hydraulic phenomena and the dynamics of individual components of the Electronic Hydraulic Fuel Injection System. To solve all the equations numerically we've applied the Runge-kutta IV method. Water hammer equations were applied for the hydraulic pipe solution, and the method of characteristics was employed in our calculations. The simulation results were compared with the experimental results for: Accumulator pressure, Injection pressure and unjection rate. As a result, The simulation results agree very well with our experimental results. We found that a large accumulator and the high speed solenoid valve were required, and the compression volume of the fuel had to be as small as possible in order to acheive ultra-high pressure fuel injection.

Biopharmaceuticals, with their ability to treat many unmet needs, are seen as promising medications in diabetes mellitus, growth hormone deficiency, chronic renal failure, cancer, and rheumatoid arthritis. However, almost all biopharmaceuticals should be administrated by injection; IV, IM, and SC. In addition, these treatments are long term, and patients should receive frequent injections for many years. Patient compliance is therefore of critical importance to ensure treatment benefits. Therefore, the goal of drug product development should be focused on improving patient compliance by reducing injection-associated pain as well as stable formulation development. This review will suggest the kinds of factors that should be considered to minimize injection pain with regard to formulation, device, and injection procedures focused on SC injections.
Electrostatic capacitance measurement method in a fine hose was proposed, in which two ring-type electrodes were disposed on the hose in the direction of fluid flow instead of the conventional face-to-face electrodes. With the proposed electrode structure, we realized a Ringer's solution exhaustion detector for an IV(invasive vein) injection set. On a 4 mm-diameter hose of IV set, we disposed two ring-type electrodes of 10 mm width at a distance of 5 mm each other and obtained 0.72 pF and 2.51 pF for air and 10 % dextrose Ringer's solution in the hose, respectively. The capacitance between the two electrodes varied with the hose-wraparound coverage of electrode as well as the width of electrode and the distance between the electrodes. For hose-wraparound electrode coverage of 75 %, the capacitance varied from 0.62 pF to 1.98 pF with the Ringer's solution level between the two electrodes. A charge amplifier converted the capacitance. variation into electric signal and a comparator was used to detect whether Ringer's solution was exhausted or not. The result was delivered to a host using a RF transmitter with 320 MHz carrier frequency.
General pharmacological properties of LB-00014, an erythropoietin which was produced by recombinant DNA technique in Biotech Research Institute, LG Chemical Ltd. were examined. The administration of LB-00014 (60, 600, 6000 IU/kg, iv) in mice had no effect in general behavior and central nervous system, and no influences on normal body temperature, writhing syndromes induced by 0.7% acetic acid solution and chemoshock produced by strychnine and pentetrazole solution. LB-00014 (60, 600, 6000 IU/kg, iv) given to anesthetized rabbits showed no effect on blood pressure of carotid artery and respiration rates, and it did not influence the responses produced by injection of acetylcholine or epinephme. The administration of LB-00014 (601, 600, 6000 IU/kg, iv) in rats had no effect on the plasma prothrombin time, activated partial thromboplastin time and hemolytic action. The platelet aggregation induced by collagen in human plasma was not influenced by LB-00014 (10, 100, 1000 lU/kg, iv). It showed no direct effect at 100 and 1000IU/m1 in isolated stomach fundus and uterus of rats and ileum of guinea-pig, and it also had no inhibition of contraction produced by acetylcholine, oxytocin, serotonin and histamine in the above-mentioned preparations. It did not influence gastric secretion, pH and acid output at 6000 IU/kg, iv in rats, but showed a significant increase in intestinal propulsion of mice at 6000 IU/kg, iv. Its administration (60, 600, 6000 lU/kg, iv) caused no effect on urine and electrolyte excretion in rats. These results indicate that LB-00014 does not exsert any of serious pharmacological effects.

The injection of spins into nonmagnetic semiconductors has recently attracted great interest due to the potential to create new classes of spin-dependent electronic devices. A recent strategy to achieve control over the spin degree of freedom is based on dilute ferromagnetic semiconductors. Ferromagnetism has been reported in various semiconductor groups including II-Ⅵ, III-V, IV and II-IV,-V$_2$, which will be reviewed. On the other hand, to date the low solubility of magnetic ions in non-magnetic semiconductor hosts and/or low Curie temperature have limited the opportunities. Therefore the search for other promising ferromagnetic semiconducting materials, with high magnetic moments and high Curie temperatures (Tc), is of the utmost importance. In this talk, we also introduce new pure ferromagnetic semiconductors, MnGeP$_2$ and MnGeAs$_2$, exhibiting ferromagnetism and a magnetic moment per Mn at 5K larger than 2.40 ${\mu}$B. The calculated electronic structures using the FLAPW method show an indirect energy gap of 0.24 and 0.06 eV, respectively. We have observed spin injection in MnGeP$_2$ and MnGeAs$_2$ magnetic tunnel junctions through semiconducting barriers.
A rapid and sensitive chemiluminescence (CL) method using flow-injection (FI) has been developed for the determination of mandelic acid which is based on the enhancement of mandelic acid to the CL intensity of ${Ru(bipy)_{3}}^{2+}$-Ce(IV) system. The enhancement effect was dependent on the concentration of mandelic acid, based on which, CL system was established for the determination of mandelic acid. The concentrations of ${Ru(bipy)_{3}}^{2+}$+, Ce(IV), and $H_2SO_4$ were optimized. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the linear range and detection limit are 1.46-342.0 ${\mu}g/ml$ and 0.072 ${\mu}g/ml$, respectively. The correlation coefficient (R) was 0.99732. The utility of this method was demonstrated by determining mandelic acid in capsules and human urine sample.
The efect of acute renal failure (ARF) on the pharmacokinetics o sulfobromophthalein (BSP) was investigated in order to elucidate if renal failure modifies the hepatic metabolism of drugs. ARF was induced by intravenous (iv) injection of uranyl nitrate (UN) to rats (5 mg/kg) five days before the experiment. Area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC)of BSP after portal vein (pv) injection increased by 2-fold and total body clearance ($CL_1$) decreased one half (p <0.01) in UN-induced ARF (UN-ARF) rate compared to the control rats. But the plasma disappearance of BSP after iv injection did not differ significantly between control and UN-ARF rats. Since BSP is excreted via the liver, $CL_1$ represented the approximate hepatic clearance of BSP. Therefore, the decrease in $CL_1$ represented the approximate hepatic clearance of BSP. Therefore, the decrease in $CL_1$ represents a decrease in hepatic intrinsic clearance ($CL_{int}$) for BSP since plasma free fraction ($f_p$) of BSP was not affected by UN-ARF. The content of hepatic cytoplasmic Y-protein, which catalyzes BSP-glutathione conjugation and limits the trasfer of BSP from blood to bile, increased significantly (p < 0.01), however its binding activity (BA) for BSP was decreased significantly (p <0.01) by UN-ARF. The decrease in $CL_{int}$might have some correlation with the changed characteristics of hepatic Y-protein, specifically its decreased BA for BSP.
This study focuses on part quality and cycle times under gas-assisted injection molding (GIM) of box shape molded parts. The position of the gas channel was established near to parting line at the end of last locations to fill. Applied hot runner and valve gates, the gas was introduced directly into the mold cavity via gas pin. As GIM was applied, the conclusion reached as follows. I) The quality of appearance was improved by reducing sink marks and scratches of texture. ii) The reliability was improved by preventing warpages and reinforcing rigidity through optimum gas channel layout. iii) It is enable to use small size of injection molding machine step by step as GIM was accomplished low pressure and reduced clamp forces against CIM. iv) The productivity were improved by reducing cycle times.

Objectives: The purpose of this study was to examine the single-dose intravenous toxicity of Guseonwangdo-go glucose 5% pharmacopuncture (GWG5). Methods: Forty Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into four groups of five males and five females per group: an intravenous (IV) injection of 1.0 mL of normal saline solution per animal was administered to the control group; IV injections of 0.1, 0.5, and 1.0 mL of GWG5 per animal were administered to the experimental groups (G: 0.1, G: 0.5, and G: 1.0). Observation of clinical signs and body weight measurements were carried out for 14 days following the injections. At the end of the observation period, hematological, biochemical, and histopathological tests, as well as necropsy examinations, were performed on the injected parts. Results: No mortalities or adverse clinical signs were observed in any of the groups. The body weights of all groups continuously increased. In the hematological and the biochemical tests, females in G-0.1 had minimal changes, but those changes were not dose dependent. On necropsy examination, no abnormalities were observed. In the histopathological test, focal inflammatory cell infiltrations were observed in two female rats, one in the control group and one in G-1.0. Also, one female rat in the control group had an epidermis crust. These changes were concluded to have been caused by the insertion of the needle into a vein. Conclusion: The above findings suggest that the lethal dose of GWG5 administered via IV injection is more than 1.0 mL per animal in both male and female rats. Further studies are needed to establish more detailed evidence of its toxicity.

Intravenous injection is the most frequent invasive treatment for inpatients and is widely used for parenteral nutrition administration and blood products, and more than 1 billion procedures are used for peripheral catheter insertion, blood collection, and other IV therapy per year. Intravenous injection is one of the difficult procedures to be performed only by trained nurses with intravenous injection training, and failure can lead to thrombosis and hematoma or nerve damage to the vein. Accordingly, studies on auxiliary equipment capable of visualizing the vein structure of the back of the hand or arm are being published to reduce errors during intravenous injection. This study is a study on the performance difference according to the number of LEDs irradiating the 850nm wavelength band on a vein detector that visualizes the vein during intravenous injection. Four LED PCBs were produced by attaching NIR filters to CCD and CMOS camera lenses irradiated on the skin to acquire images, sharpen the acquired images using image processing algorithms, and project the sharpened images onto the skin. After that, each PCB was attached to the front end of the vein detector to detect the vein image and create a performance comparison questionnaire based on the vein image obtained for performance evaluation. The survey was conducted on 20 nurses working at K Hospital.
