A Fast Processing Algorithm for Lidar Data Compression Using Second Generation Wavelets

  • The lifting scheme has been found to be a flexible method for constructing scalar wavelets with desirable properties. In this paper, it is extended to the UDAR data compression. A newly developed data compression approach to approximate the UDAR surface with a series of non-overlapping triangles has been presented. Generally a Triangulated Irregular Networks (TIN) are the most common form of digital surface model that consists of elevation values with x, y coordinates that make up triangles. But over the years the TIN data representation has become an important research topic for many researchers due its large data size. Compression of TIN is needed for efficient management of large data and good surface visualization. This approach covers following steps: First, by using a Delaunay triangulation, an efficient algorithm is developed to generate TIN, which forms the terrain from an arbitrary set of data. A new interpolation wavelet filter for TIN has been applied in two steps, namely splitting and elevation. In the splitting step, a triangle has been divided into several sub-triangles and the elevation step has been used to 'modify' the point values (point coordinates for geometry) after the splitting. Then, this data set is compressed at the desired locations by using second generation wavelets. The quality of geographical surface representation after using proposed technique is compared with the original UDAR data. The results show that this method can be used for significant reduction of data set.

무선 인지 기술(Cognitive Radio using ITMA)을 이용한 국내 환경에 적합한 MB-OFDM UWB 시스템 (Cognitive Radio Using ITMA for MB-OFDM UWB System of Korea)

  • 본 논문에서는 MB-OFDM UWB 시스템의 간섭 회피 기술로서 무선 인지 기술(Cognitive Radio)을 사용하였다. 간섭 신호를 측정하기 위한 방안으로 FCC에서 제안한 무선 인지 기술의 간섭 온도 모델(Interference Temperature Model) 사용한다. 간섭 온도 측정을 통하여 MB-OFDM UWB 시스템의 채널 용량(Channel Capacity)를 계산한 후 간섭 상황을 해결하는 방안을 제시한다. 계산 과정에 해당하는 인지 엔진(Cognitive Engine)의 연산 알고리즘으로 사용될 유전 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 본 논문에서 제안한 국내 환경에 적합한 무선 인지 기술(Cognitive Radio using Interference Temperature Model Access)을 이용한 MB-OFDM UWB 시스템은 현재 문제가 될 수 있는 UWB 통신 시스템의 간섭문제를 해결하는데 좋은 성능을 보여주고 있는 것을 확인하였다.

DSMC 방법을 사용한 KM 잔류추력 밀도장 시뮬레이션 (Simulation of KM Plume Density Field by Residual Thrust Using DSMC Method)

  • KSLV-I 2단에 탑재된 위성은 KM과 충돌하지 않도록 오염 및 충돌 회피 기동(CCAM)을 수행하게 된다. 이때 위성이 KM 잔류 추력 Plume의 밀도가 충분히 낮은 영역을 통과해야만 오염을 피할 수 있으며, 이를 확인하기 위해서는 Plume 유동장의 정확한 예측이 필수적이다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 희박기체 유동해석에 사용되어 그 정확도가 검증된 DSMC 기법을 사용하는 러시아 ITMA 연구소의 SMILE Code를 이용하여 위성과 분리된 KM의 잔류추력에 의한 Plume의 밀도장을 시뮬레이션 하여 분포를 예측하였고, 그 결과의 신뢰성을 확인하기 위하여 KM 노즐 내부의 밀도장은 Fluent의 결과와 비교하여 그 타당성을 입증하였다.

Performance Measurement and Analysis of Intranet using DPE-based Performance Management System

  • The modern telecommunication networks are composed of various network-type and are managed by various management technologies, such as TMN, SNMP, TINA etc. Furthermore, the network user's needs of real-time multimedia services are rapidly increasing. In order to guarantee the user-requested quality-of-service(QoS) and keep the network utilization at maximum, it is required to manage the network performance continuously after the network is deployed. The performance management function should provide the useful information for the network expansion and the capacity reallocation in the future. In this paper, we propose a DPE-based performance management architecture for the integrated management of the heterogeneous network elements with TMN and SNMP. We propose an approach to provide the Intranet traffic monitoring and analysis function using layered network management concept and distributed processing technology. The proposed architecture has been designed and implemented based on multiprocess and multithread structure to support concurrent processing. To manage the traffic according to the Intranet service categories, we implemented an ITMA(Intelligent Traffic Monitoring Agent) with packet capture library. With the proposed architecture, we could measure and analyze the real Intranet traffic of Yeungnam University.
