Thought-action fusion (TAF) is a tendency to blindly assume causal relations between their thoughts and external reality. On the other hand, cognitive fusion (CF) is a tendency to take internal experiences, such as thoughts and feeling, literally rather than view them as random events. However, these two terms are often confusedly used and, in fact, have conceptual overlaps. Therefore, this study aimed to identify their distinctive features through a comprehensive review of the definition, origin, measurements and clinical implications especially on the understanding of obsessive-compulsive symptoms. The cognitive-behavioral concept of TAF is confined to erroneous and maladaptive beliefs about the connection between thoughts and behaviors. The CF is a broader construct that entails taking thoughts and feelings as facts and engaging or struggling with them such that the quality of life is lowered. They also have different theoretical backgrounds, developing processes and therapeutic approaches. From the perspective of the obsessive-compulsive disorder, both concepts have been studied as mid-structures for this illness. Recently, the effectiveness of psychological therapies related to these concepts such as defusion therapy has been tested. However, it is yet still in its infancy. In the future, complementary advances between the two concepts with studies on biological substrates is needed.

The sensors of aircraft are necessity for mission performance and fusion process of data from them is applied for increase of mission efficiency and decrease of aircraft pilot workload. Data fusion is applied and developed to provide pilot a series of more processed data format about a specific target from sensors in aircraft. Military aircraft currently in operation are linked with a tactical data link such as Link-16 to display improved tactical situation to pilots to increase mission efficiency. By fusing the sensor data with improved accuracy obtained as the sensors' performance mounted on the aircraft become higher and the tactical situation information received through the tactical data link, it provides the pilot with a highly reliable tactical situation and mission environment, and expects efficient mission performance and high survivability. In this paper, a fusion architecture to produce fused data with realtime information from the sensors and data through a tactical data link is shown.

Recently, SPECT/CT system has been applied to many diseases, however, the application is not extensively applied at pulmonary disease. Especially, in case that, the pulmonary embolisms suspect at the CT images, SPECT is performed. For the accurate diagnosis, SPECT/CT tests are subsequently undergoing. However, without SPECT/CT, there are some limitations to apply these procedures. With SPECT/CT, although, most of the examination performed after CT. Moreover, such a test procedures generate unnecessary dual irradiation problem to the patient. In this study, we evaluated the amount of unnecessary irradiation, and the usefulness of fusion images of pulmonary disease, which independently acquired from SPECT and CT. Using NEMA PhantomTM (NU2-2001), SPECT and CT scan were performed for fusion images. From June 2011 to September 2010, 10 patients who didn't have other personal history, except lung disease were selected (male: 7, female: 3, mean age: $65.3{\pm}12.7$). In both clinical patient and phantom data, the fusion images scored higher than SPECT and CT images. The fusion images, which is combined with pulmonary vessel images from CT and functional images from SPECT, can increase the detection possibility in detecting pulmonary embolism in the resin of lung parenchyma. It is sure that performing SPECT and CT in integral SPECT/CT system were better. However, we believe this protocol can give more informative data to have more accurate diagnosis in the hospital without integral SPECT/CT system.
We have now constructed a novel recombinant baculovirus producing fusion protein with Autogrqha c.uliforrzica nuclear polyhedrosis virus (AcNPV) polyhedrin and green fluorescent protein (GFP). The fusion protein expressed by the recombinant baculovirus in insect cells was characterized. The GFP gene was introduced under the control of polyhedrin gene promoter of AcNPV, by fusion in the front or back of intact polyhedrin gene. The recombinant baculoviruses were named as Ac-GFPPOL or Ac-POLGFP. respectively. As expected, the 56 kDa fusion protein was expressed in the recombinant virus-infected cells. Interestingly. however, the fluorescence of GFP in the cells infected with Ac- POLGFP was only detected within the nuclei. and that was observed as polyhedra-like granular particles. In the microscopy of cells infected with Ac-GFPPOL, furthermore, GFP was detected in both cytoplasm and nuclei although most of GFP were present within the nuclei. However, fusion protein produced by recombinant virus did not form polyhedra although the fusion protein was fused with polyhedrin and GFP. It is suggested that difference of GFP location in the infected cells appear to be involved in the region of polyhedrin in the fusion protein, and the polyhedrin in the fusion protein might be responsible for the polyhedra-like granular particles present within nuclei.

Study Design: Retrospective study. Purpose: Lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration is an important cause of low back pain. Overview of Literature: Spinal fusion is often reported to have a good course for adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS). However, many studies have reported that adjacent segment degeneration is accelerated after lumbar spinal fusion. Radiography is a simple method used to evaluate the orientation of the vertebral column. magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the method most often used to specifically evaluate intervertebral disc degeneration. The Pfirrmann classification is a well-known method used to evaluate degenerative lumbar disease. After spinal fusion, an increase in stress, excess mobility, increased intra-disc pressure, and posterior displacement of the axis of motion have been observed in the adjacent segments. Methods: we retrospectively secured and analyzed the data of 15 patients (four boys and 11 girls) with AIS who underwent a spinal fusion surgery. We studied the full-length view of the spine (anterior-posterior and lateral) from the X-ray and MRI obtained from all patients before surgery. Postoperatively, another full-length spine X-ray and lumbosacral MRI were obtained from all participants. Then, pelvic tilt, sacral slope, curve correction, and fused and free segments before and after surgery were calculated based on X-ray studies. MRI images were used to estimate the degree to which intervertebral discs were degenerated using Pfirrmann grading system. Pfirrmann grade before and after surgery were compared with Wilcoxon signed rank test. While analyzing the contribution of potential risk factors for the post-spinal fusion Pfirrmann grade of disc degeneration, we used generalized linear models with robust standard error estimates to account for intraclass correlation that may have been present between discs of the same patient. Results: The mean age of the participant was 14 years, and the mean curvature before and after surgery were 67.8 and 23.8, respectively (p<0.05). During the median follow-up of 5 years, the mean degree of the disc degeneration significantly increased in all patients after surgery (p<0.05) with a Pfirrmann grade of 1 and 2.8 in the L2-L3 before and after surgery, respectively. The corresponding figures at L3-L4, L4-L5, and L5-S1 levels were 1.28 and 2.43, 1.07 and 2.35, and 1 and 2.33, respectively. The lower was the number of free discs below the fusion level, the higher was the Pfirrmann grade of degeneration (p<0.001). Conversely, the higher was the number of the discs fused together, the higher was the Pfirrmann grade. Conclusions: we observed that the disc degeneration aggravated after spinal fusion for scoliosis. While the degree of degeneration as measured by Pfirrmann grade was directly correlated by the number of fused segments, it was negatively correlated with the number of discs that remained free below the lowermost level of the fusion.
This study aims to analyze importance and performance factors on the quality of wellbeing fusion menu of fusion restaurants to provide helpful information for building up a detailed marketing strategy and present considerations for sales increase and more efficient business results. Importance on menu quality scored a higher level than performance on the whole in fusion restaurants. Notably, in regard to attributes of menu quality, it was found that respondents put higher stress on 'taste of food', 'sanitary of food', 'cleanliness of vessels', 'quality of menu' and 'freshness of food' than anything else. Wellbeing fusion menu which has an high intake frequency rate includes 'green vegetable noodles with black bean sauce', 'sweet pumpkin salad', 'salmon salad', and 'shrimp vegetable gratin' in that order. On the other hand, the intake frequencies of 'ovened green perilla gratin', 'pomegranate dressing tofu', 'bacon roll with glutinous rice powder', and 'pomegranate dressing bacon' were rated very low. In terms of the IPA analysis on wellbeing fusion menu quality, it was important to continuously maintain 'taste of food', 'sanitary of food', 'cleanliness of vessels', 'freshness of food', 'quality of menu', 'diet menu(low fat, low calories)', 'vegetable menu', 'nutrition of food', 'variety of menu' etc. Such items as 'price', 'distinction with existing food', and 'environment-friendly organic agriculture food material' are in need of intensive care and operation.
As movies and dramas which show traditional clothes and fusion clothes are getting popular these days, lot of people are paying attention to these dress and ornaments. And as for the domestic collections which seem to reflect this trend, various fusion style clothes are getting widely adopted by people. Therefore, this study analyzed and considered the clothes designs when the country started to open itself to other countries, by selecting a movie titled "YMCA baseball team", a movie to ascertain vigorous historical verification, and by conducting the prior study and using the DVD capture program. This study is meaningful in that based on the comparison study on the costumes, it clarifies the degree of costumes(clothes) acceptance at the point of nation's opening to other countries, which is the source of fusion style, and further shed light on the role that the movie costumes will play. From this study, we can get the following conclusions. First, through the theoretical background it can be known that when the country opened itself to outside world the dress and ornaments of the time was adopted in a top-down way, namely, first adopted by the royal family and the upper class, which could have easy access to the western civilization and institutions, and then the low class later. Second, in the movie titled 'YMCA baseball team' the costumes were designed through the strict and thorough historic verification, and it can be confirmed that various dress and ornaments adopted at the time of nation's opening to the outside world centered around the clothes design for new women. Third, 'YMCA baseball team is evaluated as a movie that reproduces that time well and as a media that provides an effective clue to the dress and ornaments adopted by the public when the country opened itself to the outside world.
Materials manufactured by powder metallurgy (PM) are widely used in various applications such as water pump, shock absorber, and airplane components due to the reduction in the cost and weight. In this study, tribological properties of carbon steel subjected by surface treatment were investigated. The main purpose is to increase the strength and improve the tribological properties by reducing pores that formed by PM. Moreover, the surface treatment was carried out at room and high temperatures (RT and HT). The surface roughness of the untreated (NON) and treated (AFTER) samples was measured. It was found that the surface roughness was reduced after both the RT AFTER and HT AFTER compared to RT NON sample. The tribological properties of the samples were performed against bearing steel ball under dry conditions. The friction coefficient of the RT NON samples was reduced by 22% and 56% RT AFTER and HT AFTER, respectively. The wear volume of the RT NON sample was also reduced by 43% and 87% RT AFTER and HT AFTER, respectively. Tribocorrosion tests were also performed and it was found that the surface of the RT AFTER, HT AFTER samples was less corroded compared to RT NON sample. The HT AFTER sample demonstrated a relatively higher corrosion potential in comparison with the RT AFTER samples. Hence, it was confirmed that after surface modification the surface roughness and hardness of the samples were significantly improved resulting in improvement in tribological and tribocorrosion behaviors of PM carbon steel.
The dynamic change of background and moving objects is an important factor which causes the problem of occlusion in tracking moving objects. The tracking accuracy is also remarkably decreased in the presence of occlusion. We therefore propose an active fusion model which is robust against partial occlusions that are occurred by background and other objects. The active fusion model is consisted of contour-based md region-based snake. The former is a conventional snake model using contour features of a moving object and the latter is a regional snake model which considers region features inside its boundary. First, this model classifies total occlusion into contour and region occlusion. And then it adjusts the confidence of each model based on calculating the location and amount of occlusion, so it can overcome the problem of occlusion. Experimental results show that the proposed method can successfully track a moving object but the previous methods fail to track it under partial occlusion.
This study has proposed a data fusion method based on the Dempster-Shafer evidence theory The Dempster-Shafer fusion uses mass functions obtained under the assumption of class-independent Gaussian assumption. In the Dempster-Shafer approach, uncertainty is represented by 'belief interval' equal to the difference between the values of 'belief' function and 'plausibility' function which measure imprecision and uncertainty By utilizing the Dempster-Shafer scheme to fuse the data from multiple sensors, the results of classification can be improved. It can make the users consider the regions with mixed classes in a training process. In most practices, it is hard to find the regions with a pure class. In this study, the proposed method has applied to the KOMPSAT-EOC panchromatic image and LANDSAT ETM+ NDVI data acquired over Yongin/Nuengpyung. area of Kyunggi-do. The results show that it has potential of effective data fusion for multiple sensor imagery.
