  • The purpose of this study was to find out the most reasonable design in the superstructure of an underground parking lot which needs to be considered with the economic efficiency being influenced on the subdivision price, construction duration, workability and the maintenance of crack and leakage status of apartment house. In this research, we've evaluated the fitness for the superstructure of an underground parking lot by examination of construction constraint, which was based on the calculated data of structural design and quantity survey. The results of this study are summarized as follows. 1. The system of the absent structure of beam is proper structure for economic efficiency, construction duration and workability, but it is disadvantageous at the side of maintenance efficiency because of the many part of large slab. In the opposite direction, the establishing structure of beam has the advantages of structural stability except economic efficiency, construction duration and workability 2. It's required a proper selection for the views being contrary to each other which the owners considers good quality, on the other hand, the contractors consider construction duration and workability. 3. In making a selection for the superstructure of an underground parking lot, we have concluded that it is the most important to choose the proper structure for the demanded performance by contrasting with two system. • This study is significant in determining the reduction of safety accidents by applying PDCA's theory by subdividing it into a case analysis technique for construction sites by PDCA's theory. For this study, accidents accounted for the largest proportion of each type of disaster in the construction site were considered, and safety accidents were reduced through the PDCA theory through prior research. The analysis method of this study derived improvement plans by applying PDCA techniques to plan, implement, confirm, review, and improve disaster accidents at construction sites. The conclusions of this study are as follows. In the plan, first of all, measures shall be taken to prepare a safety management plan, to verify the implementation of the plan, and to verify the degree of implementation by the field manager. In the implementation, first of all, it is necessary to introduce a safety education history system to strengthen the safety education curriculum to suit the site, as long-term work is impossible for field workers depending on field conditions. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the installation of safety facilities, including "work scaffolding" and "conducting prevention facilities" at construction sites. In management review and improvement, the risk assessment system for construction sites needs to be expanded first°.

  • Social infrastructure is the basis of public welfare and should be recognized and managed as important assets. Bridge is one of the most important infrastructures to be managed systematically because the impact of the failure is critical. It is essential to monitor the performance of bridges in order to manage them as an asset. But current analytical methods such as predictive modeling and structural analysis are very complicated and difficult to use in practice. To apply these methods, structural and material condition data collection should be performed in each element of bridge. But it is difficult to collect these detailed data in large numbers and various kinds of bridges. Therefore, it is necessary to collect data of major measurement items and predict the life of bridges roughly with advanced information technologies. When certain measurement items reach predefined limits in the monitoring bridges, precise performance measurement will be done by detailed site measurement. This paper describes the selection of major measurement items that can represent the tendency of bridge life and introduces automated bridge data collection test-bed using wireless sensor network technology. The following will be major parts of this paper: 1) Examining the features of conventional bridge management system and data collection method 2) Mileage concept as a bridge life indicator and measuring method of the indicator 3) Test-bed of automated and real-time based bridge life indicator monitoring system using wireless sensor network

  • The production plan of Precast Concrete members is closely related to the assembly plan of Precast Concrete members, and is an important management factor for the process planning of Precast Concrete construction. This may cause a delay in the construction period due to manufacturing errors occurring in the production process of members and transportation errors according to the production sequence. Therefore, it is necessary to have an efficient production plan for Precast Concrete members that can produce the necessary quantity from the point of assembly of the members and supply them in a timely manner. This study is a basic study for establishing a production plan for Precast Concrete members, and the purpose of the study is to examine the factors that affect the establishment of a production plan for Precast Concrete members. In this study, the influencing factors according to the production method and conditions when establishing a production plan for Precast Concrete members were considered. In the future, correlation analysis among influencing factors will be carried out, and it is expected that it will be used as basic data for schedule management of Precast Concrete construction and derivation of construction period calculation standards.

  • Construction project is necessary element for human life to upgrade the quality and convenience. However, due to its contradictory nature to the environment preservation, environmental pollution and damage, deterioration of natural scenery, noise/vibration, water quality pollution, etc. caused in the process of construction greatly affect the environment. For the building or construction project, its possible impact on environment during construction work and after completion must be predicted at its design phase, which will result in the completion of the architecture convenient for human being with its environmental pollution reduced to minimum level. In this study, the checklist of environmental factors was suggested, which should be taken into account at its design phase in conducting the construction work. Proposed checklist was linked with the developed web-based system for the convenience of users like designer and construction manager, etc. It is expected that the checklist suggested by this study will help the designer and construction manager to continue the steady development from the environmental viewpoint during the design phase.

  • It has been applied using cranes or insertion methods to install heavy structures to strengthen existing railway bridges. These methods are uneconomical because of two reasons. The first one is it is required to construct approach roads for heavy equipment and/or working yard. The second one is the electric lines shall be cutoff during construction. Both require additional construction cost and duration. In this study, new transport equipment was developed which can be applied to heavy structures up to 100 ton. Using this method, the heavy structure can be loaded into the new transport equipment at working yard and transported to the working site. This method can be applied, but not limited to railway bridge or roadbed rehabilitation. It was found that the precious construction can be achieved to install heavy structure using this method. The experimental construction to make non-ballast girder bridge composite with new pc deck slab using this method was carried out for Jewon bridge. The example bridge is in extreme condition because it locates above national road #38 within extreme transition curve and has 10 ‰ slope and skew. The experimental construction results were satisfactory both for safety and construction precision.

  • In case of the construction equipment using by the military camp, such equipments are different from those equipments using at general construction site, of which muffler(silencer) is attached at the passenger seat side, since such equipments are obsoleted, it is great part that a considerably loud noises are continuously diffusing. When working, such noise can be influenced a lot of effects to those working soldiers nearby the equipment, and though it is really terrible loud noise as much as can arise a civil complaints by neighboring civilians, but because its specialty of the military, it is real state that there are many difficulties in establishing an effective soundproof countermeasure due to study shortage and lack of the relevant material regarding to military construction equipment. Accordingly, this study has ever grasped the characteristics of noise by its each frequencies and by distances about those 9 kinds of construction equipments using chiefly by the military camp. As the result, it was known that the military construction equipment is generating the loud noise which can influence bad effect to the workers, and such high sound pressure level of low frequency band can harm even to far distance.

  • The exhaust system, including a muffler, is one of the major sources to generate the radiated noise of construction equipment. In general, the muffler is applied to construction equipment in order to reduce the exhaust noise. Sometimes, however, the higher exhaust noise can be experienced due to the flow effect inside a muffler. So, it is required to consider the flow effect to reduce the exhaust noise level of construction equipment. In this paper, various tests were performed to calculate the flow noise effect inside a muffler. Through a series of tests with respect to a variety of design parameters, a new design program for low noise muffler was developed and applied to reduce the exhaust noise of the construction equipments. These results make it possible to understand the dynamic characteristics of the flow noise and to design the low noise muffler for the construction equipments.
