In order to prepare basic data for research on the protection of emotional workers in Pyeongtaek with the support of Pyeongtaek City, this study conducted a survey centered on 104 counselors classified as emotional laborers. Based on the results of the survey centered on 104 emotional workers, basic research data on the difficulties of emotional workers can be prepared, and protection methods for emotional workers who are currently interested in each local government can be found. As a result of selecting a sample centering on counselors in Pyeongtaek City for a survey on the actual condition of emotional workers, and conducting a survey based on the selected samples, it was found that emotional workers did not find their rights to human rights and were not protected even in the workplace. Currently, a bill to protect emotional workers is being announced, but it is not protected, so it is confirmed that system improvement is necessary. This study focused on 104 items that were significant through pre-processing among the recovered questionnaires. It was analyzed using SPSS, R, and it was confirmed that there is a need for a regulation that can provide an institutional device in Pyeongtaek City. In this study, it is judged that it is necessary to prepare a protective device for emotional workers by selecting more samples corresponding to the occupational group of emotional workers.
This study was to investigate the relationship of VDT(visual display terminal) work condition and fatigue severity in the financial office workers. Questionnaires were completed by 662 persons in VDT workers of Post Office from January to May 2006. Multidimensional Fatigue Scale(MFS) that was developed in Korea Occupational Safety &Health Agency to estimate the degree of fatigue was used for study. In results, 149 persons(22.5%) in VDT workers were felt low fatigue severity, 351 workers(53.0%) were middle, and 162 workers (24.5%) were high. So it was appeared that one in four VDT workers felt the high fatigue severity. And woman VDT workers felt more fatigue severity than man. Also, fatigue severity was increased with increasing work time. Our findings suggest that VDT workers in financial office need proper health program to prevent occupational fatigue and disease.

The purpose of this study was examine and clarify the recognition according to gender of sexual harassment in the office. The samples were consisted of 250 employees in a seoul headquarter and 13 branches of S bank. the data were analyzed using percentage, frequency, mean, 1-test, F-test and ANOVA. The results of this study were as follows; 1) female workers recognized sexual harassment as severe problem, but male workers as minor and trivial things. 2) workers recognized the cause of sexual harassment as female low position in the office and sexual distinction 3) workers recognized sexual harassment type as visual, verbal and physical harassment. 4) workers recognized the main assaulters of sexual harassment as male senior workers and co-workers. 5) worker recognized place of harassment as times of workers' dining together. 6) worker recognized the victim of sexual harassment was apt to experience anger, hurt of self-respect, shame and embarrassment. 7) female workers recognized necessity of sexual education but male workers none of it.
Objectives : The direction for qualitative improvement of our country's workers' by arranging data necessary for improving oral health program and system aiming to promote workers' oral health in the future is suggested in this study. Methods : The questionnaire by self-administrated method, which was selected by convenience sampling method, was carried out from October 4th to December 31th, 2011 targeting 424 workers from 6 working places in Jellabuk-do Province. Results : 1. It was indicated that workers' interest in oral health is higher than moderate and that workers are perceiving oral health as one of critical problems and thinking that the level of their oral health knowledge is low and oral health status is under moderate. 2. It was indicated that the rate of workplace oral screening is high, but the dissatisfaction ratio with workplace oral examination is high. Non-screening of medical treatment was indicated to be the highest after oral examination. 3. Factors of having influence upon the workplace oral examination included age, marital status, appearance, educational level, work-life term, and average monthly household income. Conclusions : It is judged to be likely important to make them have positive attitude toward oral health care through the accurate publicity of workplace oral examination and education on prevention of oral disease by reflecting workers' high interest in oral health.
Background: Radiation exposure can occur as a result of occupational activities utilizing sources of radiation. The average level of occupational exposure is generally similar to the global average, but some workers receive more than this. In this study, the occupational exposure data for workers in Korea to check the recent trend of radiation exposure. Materials and Methods: The data collection and analysis are carried out by two separate periods based on the United Nations Scientific Committee on the Effects of Atomic Radiation (UNSCEAR) survey. One is the year 2003 to 2014 for a recent survey, and the other is 2015 to 2019. All available data were collected by annual reports from radiation dose registry organizations. Results and Discussion: The annual dose over the record level to the total workers did not change much compared with the total increasing number of workers in this period. The dose to the nuclear fuel cycle field has a tendency to decrease. It resulted from the efforts of radiation dose reduction with high technology introduced to this area. Also, it is important result that the radiation dose to the workers in radiography is remarkably reduced. Conclusion: The number of radiation workers and average doses were analyzed for occupational categories in Korea. It still needs cooperative efforts between the dose registry organizations for the efficient dose management of Korean radiation workers.
The history of occupational health in Korea s covered the era of the Republic of Korea after the Liberation from the Japanese colonialism. But the number of Korean workers exceeded about 2 millions at the times of liberation in 1945, so that it is expected that many occupational health problems inflicted Korean workers under the Japanese colonialism. The authors reviewed medical literatures, administrative documents, and other available data which were published under the colonial state, and collected things which had reference to the health status of Korean workers. The results were as follows : 1. Nutritional status of Korean workers was supposed to be inferior to that of general population, some students, and poor inhabitants in a remote mountain villages. 2. It was supposed that the constitution of Korean workers was near lower limit of average build of contemporary Koreans. 3. The accidents rate in mines was significantly high but decreasing year after year, and the most important cause of accidents was the fall of roof in the mine. The medical facilities and equipments for miners were supposed to be not sufficient in the mines and workshops. 4. Some occupational disease including silicosis, noise-induced hearing impairment, and decompression disease were known. But, overall incidence or prevalence of these diseases could not be identified. 5. On the whole, the fatalities of acute infectious diseases of Korean workers were higher than those of Japanese inhabitants in Korea and Korean inhabitants. The prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis of Korean workers was increasing with every passing year. 6. The medical personnels and facilities were so deficient that most Korean workers were out of adequate medical use. We discussed only a part of the health status of Korean workers under the Japanese colonialism, so it would be necessary to have a better grasp of details of occupational health policy and health status in the era of afflicting.
The purpose of this study was to identify the attitudes of non-commercial foodservice dietitians toward hiring older workers who are over fifty-five years of age. Questionnaires were sent to 600 members of Korea Dietitians Association who are working in Seoul, Korea, Data from 233 usable responses were analyzed using the SAS package program. The study showed that dietitians do not have a favorable perception of hiring older workers. Dictitians responded older workers have more serious accidents than younger workers(under age 30). In addition, they think than older workers are harder to train, find it more difficult to adapt to adapt to new ways of working, and are slower in their work. On the positive side, the response did show that dietitians realize that older workers are not absent from work as frequently than younger workers and that they are more cooperate than younger workers. The data also showed that those dietitians who had more positive experience with older workers also perceive the workers in more positive way than those dietitians that have had a negative experience with older workers(p<0.001). Finally, dietitians who are working in industrial foodservice showed more positive attitudes toward older workers than the dietitians who are working in hospital and school foodservice(p<0.01).

This study aims to analyze research trends related to the exhaustion of hotel employees and social workers and present the tasks and directions of future exhaustion research for hotel employees and social workers. To this end, 423 candidates for registration and registration of the Korea Research Foundation from 2012 to 2022 and master's and doctoral dissertations (178 papers) were analyzed according to the research period, research topics, research subjects, and research methods. As a result, from 29 papers in 2012, 49 studies were published in 2013, and 53 studies in 2020, indicating that they are gradually rising. Second, job burnout was the highest among hotel employees and social workers, followed by interpersonal relationships, practice, career, techno, safety accidents, and job burnout. Third, hotel employees and social workers were the highest among the subjects related to the exhaustion of hotel employees and social workers, followed by hotel employees and social workers. Fourth, quantitative research was conducted the most as a method for the exhaustion of hotel employees and social workers, and qualitative research was conducted a lot. According to these research results the study suggests that it is necessary to rediscover the meaning of research on burnout of hotel employees and social workers, which directly affects hotel employees and social workers, and to find ways for hotel employees and social workers to feel less burnout.
Purpose. With the continuous spread of the AIDS virus and other sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) throughout Asia, it has become imperative for HIV/AIDS prevention outreach programs to stress the need for using prophylactics as one form of protection. This is particularly true for commercial sex workers. This pilot study was conducted to investigate the rate of condom use among the commercial sex workers in Korea and reasons why they frequently do not wear condoms during sexual intercourse. Methods. Fifty female commercial sex workers who worked in the Yong San area were recruited while outreach was performed and forty eight responses were analyzed due to two incomplete questionnaires. The data were collected on June 28, 2004 as part of an outreach program for condom use promotion. Results. The subjects ranged in age from 21 to 45 years. Nearly half of the subjects ($47.9\%$) did not consistently use condoms. The major reason for not using protection was clients' reluctances for using condoms. When condoms were used, the subjects preferred lubricant-rich and less painful condom during intercourse. Conclusion. Due to the inconsistent use of condoms, it is clear that many commercial sex workers and clients are susceptible to sexually transmitted diseases. Therefore, it is important to not only educate commercial sex workers, but also to educate their pimps and clientele about the importance of condom use. In general, it is recommended that practical strategies and a policy for condom use promotion be developed.

The aim of this paper is to consider the process of supplying trained workers with knowledge and skills for upcoming business opportunities and the process of training apprentices to be prepared to meet future demands in an IT service firm. As the demand for new workers fluctuates, a firm should employ a buffer workforce such as apprentices or interns. However, as a result of rapid business development, the capacity of the buffer may be exceeded, thus requiring the company to recruit skilled workers from outside the firm. Therefore, it is important for a firm to map out a strategy for manpower planning so as to fulfill the demands of new business and minimize the operation costs related to training apprentices and recruiting experienced workers. First, this paper analyzes the supply and demand of workers for the IT service in a knowledge-intensive field. It then presents optimal human resource planning strategies via the familiar method of stochastic process. Also, we illustrate that our model is applied to the human resource planning of an information security service firm in South Korea.
