우리나라 상장기업의 소유구조 결정요인에 관한 실증적 연구 : 패널자료로부터의 근거 (An Empirical Study on the Determinants of Ownership Structure of Listed Companies in Korea : Evidence from Panel Data)

  • 본 연구는 첫째, 우리나라 상장기업들의 소유구조결정요인을 식별하기 위하여 이론적 모형을 설정하고, 상장기업들의 횡단면 자료와 시계열 자료를 결합한 패널자료를 이용하여 이론적 모형을 실증적으로 분석하며, 둘째, 주식시장의 개방이라는 환경 요인이 우리나라에서 소유구조의 결정요인에 영향을 주는가를 확인하고, 주식시장의 개방 전후를 구분하여 기업의 소유구조를 결정하는 요인이 어떻게 변화하였는지를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 본 연구에서 제시된 모형이 상당한 의미를 가지나, 모형의 설명력은 비교적 낮아 제시된 결정요인들이 대주주1인 지분율의 변동을 $9\sim11%$ 정도 설명하고 있으며, 본 연구에서 제시된 타인자본의존도, 배당, 자산특이성, 수익성, 성장성, 위험, 기관투자가 지분율, 재벌여부 가변수 등의 결정요인들이 통계적으로 의미있는 변수가 되고 있으나 다만 규모 변수만이 표본기간에 따라 통계적 유의성과 회귀계수 부호에 일관성을 보이고 있지 못하다. 또한 본 연구에서 제시된 주식시장의 개방이라는 환경적인 요인이 소유구조를 설명하는 의미 있는 변수가 되고 있으며, 주식시장의 개방을 전후 한 시점으로 나누어 소유구조결정요인의 변화를 분석한 결과 주식시장 개방이라는 환경변수는 소유구조결정요인에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있다.

국내 패션 멀티브랜드 스토어의 유형별 전략 및 발전방향 (Classifications and Strategic Directions of Multi-brand Fashion Stores in Korea)

  • This study presents the strategic directions for Korean multi-brand fashion stores by running in-depth industry research and market analysis. Over 20 professionals were selected from Korean multi-brand fashion stores for this study and in-depth interviews were conducted to evaluate related subjects. The results of the study were as follows. First, Korean multi-brand fashion stores could be classified into three criteria: operating ownership, merchandise mix, and store identity. Second, operating ownership criterion was chosen for further investigations of strategies and directions of the multi-brand fashion stores. The operating ownership criterion consists of three types; department store types, specialty store types, and boutique types. Each type deploys different buying practice, organizational strategies, and distribution channels. Lastly, the suggested strategic directions for each type are summarized as follows. The 'department store type' should utilize its strong direct buying capabilities and acquisition of merchandising can be more effectively managed. The store should utilize its strong buying power as a tool to develop new private brands (PBs). For 'specialty store type', two key factors have been derived: market share expansion and positioning themselves to become a new distribution channel. To respond to these factors, the store needs to be perceived as a brand then diversify its business. Strengthening its brand will allow it to expand into a new distribution channel and also enable a strategic partnership with its competitor brands. The factors influencing 'boutique type' is personalization and uniqueness. With an emphasis on the uniqueness of products and merchandising it will be able to implement the role as a personal shopper and stylist to provide a very personalized service to its customers.

ESG Performance and Corporate Value: Evidence from Korean IT Companies

  • Due to the growing importance of ESG management, various studies have been conducted to explore the relationship between ESG performance and corporate value. The purpose of this study is to investigate how a company's ESG performance impacts its corporate value. The research findings indicate that there is difficulty in explaining the relationship between ESG performance of Korean IT companies and firm value in a straightforward manner. However, the results demonstrate that companies with higher profitability, higher foreign ownership, and higher R&D expenditure tend to have a positive impact of ESG ratings on corporate value. Based on these results, we can infer that Korean IT companies can enhance their corporate value by increasing R&D investments to develop innovative products that improve profitability. Additionally, attracting higher foreign investments can also positively influence ESG performance and subsequently increase corporate value. Acknowledging these factors can help companies realize the significance of ESG performance in elevating their overall corporate value.

Quantifying Monetary Value of Float

  • Floats are used by the parties involved in a construction project. The owner may use float by changing order(s) or by executing risk avoidance plan; the contractor may use it for leveling resources or substituting activities' construction methods to reduce costs. Floats are accepted either just as by-product obtained by critical path method(CPM) scheduling or as asset having significant value. Succinctly, existing studies involved in float value does not consider its' changes on project time domain. It is important to identify float ownership and to quantify its' corresponding values. This paper presents a method that quantifies float value of money that changes over project execution. The method which accurately computes the monetary value of float may contributes to resolve conflicts relative to float ownership and/or delay issues among project participants. It compares the difference between the monetary value of total float - on non-critical path in each and every schedule update. It makes use of critical path method (CPM) and commercial software with which practitioners are already familiar.

의료기관의 재무성과에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Affecting Factors on Financial Performance of Medical Institutions in Taegu Metropolitan and Kyungpook Province)

  • This study was performed to assess the financial performance of medical institutions and examine the affecting factors in Taegu metropolitan and Kyungpook province. The major results are as follows ; The liability to total assets was significantly different according to the ownership type of medical institution. It was the highest in the case of juridical person having a special status. The total assets turnover and value added to total assets were significantly different according to the type of medical institution, period of establishment, and ownership type of medical institution. They were higher in the tertiary medical institution, in private hospital and university hospital, and they were increased with establishment period of medical institution. The growth rate of patient revenues were significantly different according to the type of medical institution, period of establishment, and the growth rate of adjusted inpatient days were significantly different by period of establishment. The return on assets and net profit to gross revenues were the highest in private hospital. Private hospital went into the black, but other hospitals went into the red figures. According to the multiple regression analysis for the net profit to gross revenues, ownership type, period of establishment, and management strategy of medical institution were significant It was higher in private hospital and medical institution with prospector management strategy, and it was increased with establishment period of medical institution. In multiple logistic regression analysis for the status of financial performance in medical institution, period of establishment, management strategy of medical institution were significant It was better in medical institution with prospector management strategy and longer period of establishment.

NFT ART의 특성이 지각된 가치에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (Investigating the Influence of NFT ART Characteristics on Consumer Perceived Value: Insights from Purchasing Experience)

  • Purpose: Non-Fungible Token (NFT) ART, based on NFT technology, represents a novel form of art that has recently garnered significant attention in the art market. NFT technology enables the assertion of ownership over digital data, introducing the concept of ownership into the digital realm. As digital data gains ownership, NFT ART is anticipated to be positively viewed as an investment and expected to become more active due to the characteristics of this new technology. Therefore, this study aims to verify the influence of NFT ART characteristics on perceived value. This study contributes to extracting the distinctive characteristics of NFT ART compared to other forms of art and to understanding the perceived value of NFT ART among consumers with purchasing experience. Methods: This study applied structural equation modeling to explore the relationships among the variables using SPSS 26.0 and R program version 4.2.3. A total of 320 questionnaires were retrieved, all of which were adopted as valid analytical samples without missing values. Results: The findings indicate that the decentralization, transparency, and scarcity of NFT ART positively influence the perceived usefulness and enjoyment among consumers, while security does not have a significant impact. This suggests that higher levels of decentralization, transparency, and scarcity in NFT ART enhance perceived usefulness and enjoyment for consumers, significantly influencing the perceived value. Furthermore, it was confirmed that these characteristics are considered important values and perceptions from the consumer's perspective. Conclusion: The research presents positive factors for the activating of purchases among consumers considering buying NFT ART. It emphasizes the necessity of benefits for all participants to activate the art market. Additionally, the perceived value provides crucial insights for inducing active purchasing behavior in the NFT ART market and serves as a foundational study for further research.

촉각적 심상화를 위한 다중감각 단서가 지각된 소유감에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Multi-Modal Cue for Haptic Imagery on Perceived Ownership)

  • 기존 연구들은 단순히 실물을 만지는 것만으로도 그 대상에 대해 심리적 소유감이 형성되고 그 가치를 높게 평가하게 되는 소유효과가 발생한다는 것을 발견하였다. 또한 단순히 만지는 상상을 하는 경우에도 실물을 만지는 것과 같은 효과가 나타난다는 것이 발견되었다. 기존의 촉각적 심상화 연구에서는 실물을 만지는 상상을 하라는 직접적인 지시에 따른 촉각적 심상화의 효과를 밝혔으나 본 연구에서는 실물을 만지는 상상을 하라는 직접적인 지시보다 촉각적 상상을 자연스럽게 유도할 수 있는 효과적인 방법을 탐색해보았다. 상상유도 조건을 상품에 대한 시각적, 촉각적 단서가 일치하는 다중감각 단서 일치 조건, 불일치하는 다중감각 단서 불일치 조건, 상상하라는 직접적 지시 조건, 통제조건으로 조작하여 촉각적 상상의 생생함, 물리적 통제감, 지각된 소유감, 구매의도에 미치는 효과를 비교하였다. 140명의 대학생을 대상으로 실험을 실시하여 분석한 결과, 시각적 단서와 촉각적 단서가 일치하도록 제공한 다중감각 단서는 촉각적 상상을 직접적으로 지시하였을 때보다도 효과적인 것으로 나타났으며 시각적, 촉각적 단서가 불일치한 경우는 효과적이지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 촉각적 심상화 연구에서 한걸음 나아간 시도이며 온라인 쇼핑과 같이 실물을 보거나 만질 수 없는 환경에서의 상품 제시 방법에 대한 함의점을 제공하는데 의의가 있다.

Determinants of Stock Liquidity: Forward-Looking Information, Corporate Governance, and Asymmetric Information

  • The more liquid the capital market, the more attractive it will be for investors to place their money in the capital market. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the factors that influence stock liquidity of manufacturing sector companies listed on the stock exchange in Indonesia. The independent variables used in this study are forward-looking information disclosure, institutional ownership, foreign ownership, and board activity with information asymmetry as an intervening variable and stock liquidity as the dependent variable. The population of this study is manufacturing sector companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange (IDX). Samples are selected based on the random sampling method, and the number of samples is calculated based on the Slovin formula. The sample was 59 manufacturers, and data was annual reports (for 2 years) and stock transactions from 2016 to 2017. The results of the study showed that forward-looking information disclosure had a significant effect on information asymmetry. Information asymmetry and foreign ownership have a significant impact on stock liquidity, whereas information asymmetry mediates the relationship between forward-looking disclosures and stock liquidity. Furthermore, the accuracy of information about the certainty of business activity both now and in the future can instill confidence in stakeholders in interacting and cooperating.

Lessons of Incremental Housing Two Chilean Case Studies: Elemental Lo Espejo and Las Higuera

  • Low-income housing policies in South Korea have been pursued mostly by providing public rental housing for less privileged social groups. In contrast to this notion of housing, this article argues for housing ownership by low-income families. Two examples of this ownership policy are found in Chile. Incremental housing involves an open-ended housing platform, which requires home-dwellers to complete the construction process themselves. This article aims to examine structural, spatial and formal characteristics of the incremental housing projects. Taking the perspective of the home-dweller during the incremental construction process, we evaluate the houses before and after customization. Thus, we use data from field-work conducted for seven months in the Santiago Metropolitan Area of Chile. Using qualitative methods such as observation, semi-structured interviews, and surveys we focus on the Elemental Lo Espejo incremental housing project and then compare it with the Las Higuera housing project. The latter is representative of the incremental houses delivered by the Chilean government. In comparing these two projects, we aim to articulate the lessons of incremental housing with the intention of suggesting possible future developments for a wider-reaching incremental housing program.

  • Public rental apartment has suffered social exclusion problem, stemmed from its closed planing for a very specific range of the disadvantaged population. Thereby, it has been recognized as a disliked residential facility. To alleviate this problem, various approaches have been tried such as ownership-tenant mixture, and different unit size mixture. The purpose of this study is to grasp the expected social relation among neighboring residents according to socially integrative planing elements such as ownership, unit size and family life cycle match. Thirty eight graduate students in architecture and housing field responded to the questionnaire which was specifically made to identify relations of 28 neighboring situations based on $2{\times}2{\times}2$ variable composition. Frequency, percentage and MDS(multidimensional scaling) were used to analyze data. As a result, the order of preferred matchy were identified. The match between rental/small/children group and ownership/middle/children group was turned out to be the most desirable while the match between rental/small/children family group and rental/small/elderly group was found the least desirable. Spatial representations of the relationships among 8 household types were delineated. In conclusion, the definite patterns of the favorable and unfavorable match were found. This result is expected to be used as a reference in developing a strategic match to promote the rental apartments social integration in Korea.
