A study of the adaptive de-interlacing up-conversions for enhancement horizontal and vertical edges (수평 및 수직 윤곽선을 개선한 적응 주사선 보간 알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • In this study, for the first time, we propose the ADI(Adaptive De-Interlacing) algorithm, which improves visually and subjectively, horizontal and vertical edges on the image processed by the ELA (Edge Based Line Average) method. The proposed ADI algorithm enlargesthe window size to 5*3 in order to utilize the feature of the continuity of edges, and the adaptive interpolator is employed to decide adaptiely horizontal, diagonal, and vertical edges. Based on the results of the compter simulation, it is confimed that the new ADI algorithm improve the PSNR by 0.5dB in the Lena image with 512*512 size and by 0.4dB in the sequence image of a salesman, respectively. For the horizontal and vertial edges on the still and salesman sequence images, the proposed ADI algorithm has better visulal improvement than the conventional ELA algorithm.

New techniques for the transformation of the logic diagram (논리도변환의 새로운 기법)

  • This paper is concerned with not only the transformation of the logic diagrams to the NAND and the NOR forms but also the inverse transformation deriving the simple Boolean function from a logic diagram. The conversions of the algebraic expression from the AND, OR and NOT operations to the NAND and the NOR operations are usually quite complicated, because they involve a large number of repeated applications of De Morgan's Theorem and the other logic relations. For the derivation of the Boolean function, it becomes difficult because the Boolean function is determined from the De Morgan's theorem in consecutive order until the output is expressed in terms of input variables (9). But, these difficulties are avoided by the use of new techniques, called the TWO-NOTs method and the MOVING-NOT method, that are presented in this paper.

  • Glycolides were polymerized by PPG or Pluronic(PN) to give A-B-A block copolyesters consisting of polyglycolide(A) and polypropylene glycol(B) or polyglycolide(A) and PN (B). Lactones were easily copolymerized with polyethers by ester interchange reaction even in the absence of catalyst. It is because PPG and PN are telechelic polyethers having hydroxy groups on their both ends. When the feed ratio of PPG(M$_{n}$=4,000) and PN(M$_{n}$=11,500) were over 5 and 10 wt% .elative to glycolide, respectively, the polymerization of glycolide took place from the terminus hydroxy groups of PPG or PN to produce the desired A-B-A block copolymers in high yields. The molecular weights of the copolymers, which estimated from the monomer conversions and the feed ratios of PPG and PN, could be controlled by changing the kind of terminus hydroxy of polyether and the feed molar ratio of PPG and PN.   • As the retrieval accuracy of PWV estimates from GPS measurements is proportional to the accuracy of water vapor WMT, the WMT model is a significant formulation in the conversion of PWV from the GPS ZWD. The purpose of this study is to develop a MWMT model for the retrieval of highly accurate GPS PWV using the radiosonde measurements from six upper-air observing stations in the region of Korea. The values of 1-hr PWV estimated at four GPS stations during one year are used to evaluate the validity of the MWMT model. It is compared to the PWV obtained from radiosonde data that are located in the vicinity of GPS stations. Intercomparison of radiosonde PWVs and GPS PWVs derived using different WMT models is performed to assess the quality of our MWMT model for Korea. The result in this study indicates that the MWMT model is an effective model to retrieve the enhanced accurate GPS PWV, compared to other GPS PWV derived by Korean annual or global WMT models.

  • EPCglobal TDT specifies standards on RFID tag representations and conversion rules among them. According to the rule, more than 200 combinations of code conversions are possible. In this paper, we propose a code generation scheme for developing TDT code conversion program, that imports TDT XML specification and generates conversion codes. The proposed scheme makes it easy to develop and to maintain the conversion codes.

  • Carbaryl was degradaded to monomethylamine(MA) by bacterium. which isolated from lake sediment. Its carbaryl degradation was maximized when grown on mineral salt medium conditioning 20 $\mu$M of carbaryl as a sole carbon source at 26${\circ}$C and initial pH 7.0-9.0 Its degradation ability was minimized at initial pH 3.0 and 5.0 The percent conversions { (moles of MA in excess of control / mole of carbaryl added) $\times$ 100} for 10. 20. 40 and 80 $\mu$M of carbaryl were 18.6. 16.1. 18.1 and 11.6 respectively. It suggests that increasing amount of carbaryl added above 80 $\mu$M. the percent conversion should be decreased. The MA production by the bacterium was lineary related to the cultural time. After 7days culture. its percent conversion was 46.2. and this result suggests that a half amount of carbaryl would be hydrolyzed to MA by the bacterium within 8 days.

  • The purpose of this study is to introduce the case of advancement of rural zoning system in a local government of Japan. The Matzgawa county, one of the local governments in Japan, sets up a new zoning system which advanced in using rural resources. In order to develop and revitalize rural region, it is necessary to use all kinds of rural resources, including agricultural as well as non-agricultural resources comprehensively. Also, the classification of agricultural land use should be reformed. The zoning on rural land should be changed to include not only agricultural use but also non-agricultural use, so as to manage comprehensively agricultural land use and its conversions. Furthermore, the land use regulation should be applied to each zone of the agricultural land.

Adaptive Digital Watermarking for Copyright Protection of CAD Data

  • To protect against unlawful reproductions and distribution, the current paper proposes a digital watermarking technique for architectural drawings produced using a CAD system. First, the POLYLINEs are extracted from the drawing; then, an adaptive algorithm is used to embed a watermark in the characteristics of each POLYLINE. Next, the CIRCLEs are embedded using an adaptive watermarking algorithm related to the radius of circle from drawing. The proposed watermarking scheme is robust to various attacks, such as the geometrical transformation. Additionally, the proposed method satisfies the requirement of transparency for CAD program. It used AutoCAD 2002, which is commonly used as a CAD program for experiments. Experimental results confirmed the robustness and invisibility of the embedded watermarks in several conversions of an architectural drawing.

  • This research was aimed at developing new catalytic membrane reactors to be used for : i) partial oxidation of toluene (to benzaldehyde and benzoic acid) ii) oxidative dehydrogenation of propane iii) complete oxidation of propane and toluene. The reactor is particularly useful for the optimisation and the industrial development of heterogeneous catalytic processes, particularly for those processes where it is necessary to control the reactants stoichiometry in the reaction zone. This control limits consecutive reactions, thus obtaining high selectivity with industrially interesting conversions. This presentation will concentrate on the partial oxidation of toluene.

  • This paper is about the suggestion for the development in the commercialization for 3.6kW Class On-Board charger. It is suggesting non-insulation AC-DC Boost Power Factor correction circuit and insulation DC-DC resonant Converter for circuit design. In addition, Input AC voltage in the power supply is DCM control which can be designed to decrease the inductance for the inductor size to be reduced. DCM controls and Interleaved PFC can be designed to decrease the inductor size increasing the power conversions. Also, using the insulation DC-DC resonant converter, the efficiency can be increased. This system is verified using prototype hardware.
