This paper aimed to explore research trends for the conceptualization of IT humanities. Reflecting domestic and international references which focused on the possibility of the integration of digital technology and humanities, the authors examined the beginning, background, and relevant concepts of IT humanities to figure out the meaning and the research trends. In addition, using the search word "IT humanities," the authors analyzed network topics of the keywords retrieved from 1,566 KCI and 64 SCI journal articles published since 2001. The concept of IT humanities in the previous studies has tended to associate with competencies that allow considering various fields of IT based on the lens of humanities perspectives. The result of the topic modeling revealed four groups as fields to be integrated with IT humanities, methods of implementation, connections of literature or culture, and creations of IT humanities. Instead of instrumentalization or merger by one stance of IT or humanities, it is imperative to collaboratively work for the generation of a new viewpoint through mutual respect of disciplines.

We consider IT equipment industry, especially IT equipment exports, in Korea. Currently IT equipment exports are about 30% of the total exports in Korea. Furthermore the amount of IT equipment exports continues to increase. The impact of IT equipment exports to Korea economy must be large enough. However the research on this impact analysis is not found easily. In this paper we analyze the economic repercussion effects of IT equipment exports from 2002 to 2005 by using the Input-Output Analysis. The status of IT equipment exports in Korea is summarized. The extensive results on various levels of IT equipment industry are proposed.

In this paper, the function factors contributing to ITA/EA functions in their organizations, are suggested. Also the reasons to the construction of IT governance system and their effects on the their organizations are discussed and the relationships are verified by empirical model. From the survey, the data of the 227 respondents were collected and regression analysis was performed for validating the research model. ITA/EA functions consist of the IT infrastructure systemization, ITA/EA business process support, IT investment efficiency factors. And the factors of IT resource and performance management, IT process management, IT service management are included to IT governance. The main analysis results described significantly are shows as follows. At first, IT resource and performance management factor is effected by the ITA/EA business process support factor and IT investment efficiency factor. In similarly, IT service management factor is also affected by the factors such as ITA/EA business process support, IT investment efficiency, and IT infrastructure systemization. In additional analysis, IT investment efficiency factor in official sectors, ITA/EA business process support factor in private sectors respectively are described as the significant factors on the IT governance.

Information technology convergence has been recognized one of the key drivers in the industry perspective. Korea government established IT convergence policy in 2008 and has been implementing it to the core industry such as automotive, shipbuilding and defense industries. This research analyzes various IT convergence issues based on an operation of defense IT convergence center, one of the industry IT convergence centers. Defense IT convergence issues are as follows : the methods for introducing rapid changing IT to military area, rapid deployment procedures of verified commercial technologies and products, regulations for using of domestic software promotion and so on. We define the concept of defense IT convergence and propose the framework and processes for applying IT to our defense sector as one of industries. Also, we establish various business models in the military perspective using defense IT convergence framework. In this paper, we focus the development of defense IT convergence through the alignment of national IT convergence policy and propose various business models established through operating a defense IT convergence center.

Employing firm-level data during the period of 1980-2006, this paper analyzes the R&D efficiency of IT SMEs. We focus on comparing the R&D efficiency of IT SMEs with that of large-sized IT firms and non-IT SMEs. The results are summarized as follows. First, the R&D investment of IT SMEs has not been increased since 2000. In IT manufacturing industry, the portion of the R&D investment of IT SMEs is no more than 10.6% in 2005. Second, we analyze the innovation capacity of SMEs with the number of the patent application. The result is similar with the trend of R&D investment. The portion of the patent application of SMEs has not been increased since 2000. Third, the R&D efficiency of non-IT firms is higher than that of IT SMEs regardless of the firm size. The R&D efficiency of non-IT SMEs is over three times as large as that of IT SMEs. Meanwhile, The R&D efficiency of the large-sized non IT firms is 1.86 times as large as that of IT large-sized firms. Finally, we estimate the R&D elasticity and compare between IT manufacturing and service industry. The result shows that the R&D elasticity of IT service industry is higher than that of IT manufacturing industry, regardless of firm size.

IT convergence technology can boost the advancement of weapon systems and efficient operation for the military reformation in Korea. This study investigated IT firms' concern about the defense acquisition process for IT-convergent systems and the role of IT firms in the process with Focus Group Interview and in-depth interview on executives of IT firms, and classified the concern to three major issues. They are the clarification of IT firms' role in the defense IT-convergent efforts, the establishment of the control tower for defense IT convergence, and reasonable estimation of software development cost in the defense acquisition process.

In this study, we empirically examine cross-sectional determinants of IT personnel size of Korean listed companies from year 2004 to year 2009. Also, cross-sectional determinants of IT personnel size involved in managing internal control over financial reporting (hereafter, "ICFR") were examined. IT personnel or IT workers are recognized as critical intangible resources comprising firm's IT capability. Although IT personnel are regarded as important resources, there are not much information about factors explaining the size of firms' IT personnel. Fortunately, the Korean governmant regulates that every listed companies should dislclose the number of IT workers and ICFR-related IT personnel in their annual reports. This study utilizes the mandatorily disclosed IT personnel data to analyze cross-sectional determinants of korean listed companies' IT personnel size. Empirical results show that profitability, uncertainty, leverage, industry types are statistically significant factors associated with the size of IT personnel.

In order to promote the IT business efficiently, the Preliminary Feasibility Study has been conducted since 2004. It is to verify the feasibility of a large-scale IT project in advance and to determine whether to reflect the budget. It is more difficult to analyze the benefits of the IT project than other projects, because the IT project is carried out by combining tangible and intangible assets and human resources. For this reason, the Standard Guideline for Preliminary Feasibility Study in the IT field suggests a framework to support in estimating the benefits of the IT project. However, it includes the following problems : 1) level discrepancy among the benefit categories, 2) lack of types of benefit items, 3) no consideration of benefit inducing factors. So the framework is facing a low utilization. This study develops a new framework through a three-step research process. The new framework can be used not only for preliminary feasibility studies but also for estimating the benefits of general IT projects.

최근 기업들의 IT 의존도가 커지는 동시에 시스템 간과 비즈니스 프로세스와의 연계성 및 통합의 관점이 중요해짐에 따라 다양한 IT 서비스와 자산들을 효과적으로 관리하기 위한 IT 거버넌스 활동의 중요성이 대두되고 있다. 이러한 기업자원의 일원인 정보자산의 중요성이 증대되고 있는 반면에, 국내 IT 거버넌스의 활동에 대한 연구 및 사례가 부족하여, 국내 기업환경에 기반한 IT 거버넌스 연구의 필요성이 요구되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 IT 거버넌스와 관련된 다양한 활동들을 체계적으로 분석함으로써, 국내기업의 성공적인 IT 거버넌스의 구현 및 운영을 위한 향후 시사점과 발전방향을 제시할 수 있는 사례분석 프레임워크를 제시하여 국내 기업의 IT 거버넌스 현황 파악에 연구목적을 두었다. 본 연구를 통해 국내 기업의 IT 거버넌스 활동 의사결정 체계와 성공적인 IT 거버넌스 수행을 위한 시사점 및 활동방안을 제시하며 향후 IT 거버넌스를 파악하고 분석하기 위한 평가척도 및 Reference 역할로 활용하는데 그 의의를 두고 있다.

Recently many companies have increased their investment in IT because they are increasingly interested in taking advantage of IT and they recognized that it was a very important strategic resource that any organization should manage. That means that the members of a company or an organization realized the importance of IT specialists' coordinating and working in partnership with the business employees to ascertain the high quality and productivity through IT services. While the company looks at IT cost reduction, there is a pressure from users for more support and service from IT departments. That means IT service providers have to offer improved service quality at reasonable cost. To solve the contradictory problem, this paper proposes the application of IT service management. If the IT service management is implemented properly, an organization can attain the tangible and intangible results which are profitable and effective. In Korea, studies on IT service management have focused only on getting a certification and development issues, and there are few papers which accomplished empirical studies. From the viewpoint of Resource-based theory, this study reviews the definition of IT service management and its elements. It has demonstrated empirically how IT service management can have an impact on IT service management performance. As a result, IT service management plays a role in adding and improving the practical use and efficiency of IT service management. In conclusion, this study contributes to support and show the critical point of the previous literatures about IT service management and offers the new practical implications for business sectors.
