  • This paper presents direction for efficient software education. Due to the impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the whole world is interested in software education. However, simply teaching how to code is not software education. The thinking abilities used in coding for software implementation are even more important. Therefore, computational thinking is getting great attention. Several institutions suggest factors for computational thinking and encourage to teach in a relevant way based on the suggestion. In this study, the verification of the factors they suggested was conducted through a questionnaire. The total of 419 freshman students of the College of Social Sciences who were taking "Computational Thinking and Software Coding" class participated in the survey at the beginning and the end of the semester. We first analyzed Wing's proposal that summarized the concept of computational thinking, and reviewed the proposal of ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) for defining computational thinking factors for coding education, also checked on the suggestion of Google for factors necessary for software coding. As a result of research analysis, this paper suggests a direction for efficient software education.

A Way of Improving Elementary Pre-service Teachers' Number Sense Based on Computational Thinking (컴퓨팅 사고력 기반 초등예비교사의 수감각 능력 향상 방안)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the elementary pre-service teachers' preferred strategies while they solve problems which require number sense and to study a way to improve their number sense ability based on computational thinking. In a survey with 57 elementary pre-service teachers using the instrument consisting of two different number sense components, they preferred much more the rule-based strategies to the number sense-based strategies, which was consistent with the prior studies[13][14][20]. To change this situation, we present a way to improve their number sense ability by utilizing the analyzed results and the nine computational thinking components which were suggested by CSTA and ISTE(2011).

Secretion of escherichia coli $\beta$-lactamase from bacillus subtilis with the aid of usufully constructed secretion vector

  • The secretion vector with promoter and signal sequence region of neutral protease gene (npr) from Bacillus amyloliquefaciens was constructed by the technique of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). A unique restriction iste was introduced into the 3' of the signal coding region by the synthesis of PCR primer. To demonstrate the function of cloned promoter and signal sequence, we used the E. coli .betha.-lactamase structural gene as a foreign gene. The signal sequence of .betha.-lactamase gene was deleted by Bal31 exonuclease and only mature region was introduced into the secretion vector. Bacillus subtilis cells transformed by the recombinant vector synthesized the fusion protein and were also capable of removing the signal peptide from the original fusion protein, as judged by the assay of .betha.-lactamase activity and secretion into the growth medium by western blotting.

  • 2015 개정 교육과정에 의해 2018년부터 중학교에서 정보 교과가 필수로 수업이 진행되고 있다. 핵심역량으로 정보문화소양, 컴퓨팅 사고력, 협력적 문제해결력이 제시되었고, 특히 컴퓨팅 사고력이 주목받고 있다. ISTE와 미국 컴퓨터과학교사협회(CSTA)에서 정의한 컴퓨팅 사고력의 하위 9가지 영역을 제시하였다. 본 논문은 9가지 영역 중에서 자료 표현 요소에 초점을 두고 학습자들의 자료 표현력 신장을 위해 필요한 개인적 특성으로 사고 패턴에 대한 분석을 실시하였다. 향후 교육적 방법으로 적용이 가능하도록 제언하였다.

The Study of Luppe Smelting with Converting Dust and Slag (제강전로 더스트와 슬래그를 이용한 루페제련에 관한 연구)

  • We smelted thc pellets made by mixing the distilled carbon from wlISte Lires, LD converter dust and slag with reduction process in the revcrberatory furnace. Thc obtained results are as follows 1) The removal mte of zinc appears above 97% after T reducing the pellets at $1300^{\circ}C$ for Ihr and the zinc content in the residue are 0.1~D.2%. 2) Under the mixing condition of 500 g LD dust. 150-200 g LD slag and 30-50 g distilled carbon of waste lires the removal raho of zinc shows above 95%, while t the 50-60% Fe remains in the residue. 3) After smelting at $1350^{\circ}C$ for 3hrs, the recovery ratio of pig iron reduced from lhe p pellets containing 15-20% LD slag and 4.1-7.2% distilled carbon of waste tires appears in the range of 89.3-92%. 4) Tbe c chemical composition of the recovered pig iron is 1.7%C, O.05%P, 0.05%S and balance Fe. 5) Tbe recovered dust from the d dust collcctor alter finishing the reduction rcaction appears as a crude zinc oxide conLaining 60% zinc.

The educational models using enhanced mathematics ICT in the Korean IT environments (21세기 선진형 ICT 수학 교육 방법론 모델)

  • Recently, many advanced countries have used original ICT tools in their educational courses. But Korea didn't have any effective origin ICT tools in our mathematical education, compared with other countries which have developed various tools, for examples, Web-Mathematica and HP Calculator. Although we have the advanced IT environment, the educational environments in mathematics using ICT seems to be not promising. In this paper, we suggest a new mathematics education tools in ICT and the internet environments in Korea, and a teaching and studyingmodel for the teachers, students and classrooms. It is based on the Sage-Math and RPG. Sage-Math which is the software based on the web and RPG(Random Problem Generator) will give a good answer for the future of Korean mathematics ICT education.

The Biological Stability of Immediate Placement of Tapered Implants in Tooth Extraction Sites (발치와에 즉시 식립한 쐐기형 임플란트의 생물학적 안정성에 관한 전향적 연구)

  • Objective : To assess the biological stability of immediate transmucosal placement of tapered implants into tooth extraction sockets. Material and methods : Following tooth extraction, tapered implants were immediately placed into the sockets. Teeth with evidence of acute periapical pathology were excluded. After implant placement, sutured allowing a non-submerged, transmucosal healing. Standardized radiographs were obtained every visiting from baseline to 32 weeks after implant placment. Changes in depth of the distance from the implant shoulder (IS) and from the alveolar crest (AC) to the bottom of the defect (BD) were assessed. Results : Thirteen patients (10 males and 3 females) were enrolled and followed. They contributed with 15 tapered implants. extraction iste displayed sufficient residual bone volume to allow primary stability of all implants. The mean surgery time was $41{\pm}10.0$ mins. All implants healed uneventfully yielding a survival rate of 100%. Mean ISQ values were relatively stable. Interproximal crestal bone decreased $1.69{\pm}1.2mm$ (mesial), $1.65{\pm}1.2mm$ (distal) from baseline to 32-week follow-up. No statistically significant changes with respect to FMPS, FMBS, PPD and width of KG were observed. Conclusions: Immediate transmucosal implant placement represented a predictable treatment option for the replacement of teeth lost due to reasons including fractures, endodontic failures and caries.
