품질경영시스템 통합모형 개발과 적용에 관한 연구 (Development and Application of An Integrated Model for Quality Management Systems)

  • This paper deals with an integration model of three major quality management systems. The well known global standards such as ISO 9001 quality system, Malcolm Baldrige model, and EFQM model are integrated as a prototype quality system. The proposed model is then applied to help a power generation company to select improvement tasks for enhancing quality management. Here, we discuss three quality management systems, an integration process of the three systems, the integrated model, and a real world application case.

  • The AS 9100 aerospace standard has become the aerospace quality management system standard agreed to, instead of ISO 9001 and MIL-Q-9858A by international aerospace manufacturing companies. In this paper correlative requirements of each of the standards are compared and analyzed. Then the evolutionary concept and its direction is proposed as a guide to participate in the preparation and establishment of current aerospace quality management systems. This study is applicable to the future as well as present aerospace manufacturing activities throughout the world.

공급자 부품품질 향상을 위한 품질보증시스템 개선방안 (Enhancement of Quality Assurance System for Improving the Quality of Suppliers' Product)

  • A prerequisite for improving the quality of a product is to enhance the quality of its parts supplied from outsourced enterprises. An enterprise certified by ISO 9001 Quality Management System is expected to develop their effective quality assurance system and maintain it through continuous control and improvement, thereby ensuring the good quality of products that they produce. However, it is reported that small and medium-sized enterprises certified by ISO 9001 have difficulty establishing an effective quality assurance system. This study aims to propose a new method of improving a quality assurance system that can be more effective in small and medium-sized enterprises. This study collectively considered requirements specified in several international standards on quality system and the results of expert group brainstorming to identify evaluation areas and items for assessing a quality assurance system. Based on these evaluation areas and items, a set of checklists for diagnosing and improving a quality assurance system was developed. In order to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method, this study applied it to ten small and medium-sized enterprises and could identify four approaches for improving their current quality assurance system. The presented improvement method, which consists of establishment of quality goals and quality innovation plan, defective products corrective activities, 4M and design change process, improvement of customer quality information management, is expected to be utilized as a useful tool for the enhancement of the quality assurance system of small and medium-sized enterprises.

  • 한국전자통신연구원(이하 ETRI)은 2002년에 국제표준으로 널리 통용되어 많은 분야에서 적용되고 있는 ISO 9001:2000 품질경영시스템 인증을 획득하여 현재까지 유지하여 오고 있다. ETRI의 ISO 9001:2000 품질경영시스템 도입 목적은 대외적으로는 연구개발 경쟁력 향상과 고객만족 증진이고, 대내적으로는 연구개발 업무 수행의 체계적이고 공통된 틀을 제공하는 R&D 표준프로세스의 정립과 이의 지속적으로 개선하기 위한 것이다 이를 통한 연구개발 수행 활동의 효과 성과 효율성을 제고하여 최종적으로는 고객에게 제공되는 연구개발 결과물의 품질을 향상시키는데 있다. 본 논문에서는 ETRI가 ISO 9001:2000 품질경영시스템을 R&D 프로세스 혁신을 위한 기반시스템으로 활용한 접근방법에 대하여 살펴보고, 그를 위해 연구개발 업무에 대하여 구체적으로 정의한 R&D 프로세스 모델 및 그 활용체계에 대하여 간략히 소개하고자 한다.

ISO 9001:2009 품질경영원리의 실행에 관한 연구 (A Study on ISO 9001:2009 Quality Management Principles Implementation)

  • In this era of globally competitive world market, many business firms have been using ISO 9000 quality management system, whose principles are leadership, customer focus, people involvement, etc., which are expected and desired to be attained for the various long/short term goals of the business firms. This paper studies whether and how those principles are implemented in the areas of service, manufacturing, etc., and researches the regression relations between business firm's performance and those principles. Using hypothesis testing, we found and showed results which can be referenced for the higher performance of business firms and those can be added to the pool of knowledge about the ISO principles implementation in service and manufacturing industries.

  • 한 중간 FTA가 타결되어 동북아 통합경제권 실현에 대한 가능성이 높아졌다. 중국의 고도성장은 세계경제를 주도하고 있고, 동북아권역은 세계 경제에 있어서 주요시장으로 주목 받고 있다. 또한 우리정부의 해외시장 중시정책은 계속될 수밖에 없으나, 동북아권역에서의 건설수주는 미미한 수준이며, 수익성은 일본에 비해 아직 취약하다. 이제부터는 양적인 성장보다는 질적인 성장을 추구하는 건설산업으로의 체질개선을 도모해야 하는 시점이며, 고품질의 결과물을 도출하기 위하여 품질관리에 대하여 관심을 가져야 하고, 그 기반이 되는 품질관리체계가 보다 발전된 모습으로 거듭나는 계기로 만들어야 하는 이유인 것이다. 이에 국내 건설품질관리체계를 일본과 중국을 대상으로 비교하여 경제권 통합을 염두에 둔 품질관련 체계개편과 수준향상을 유도할 발전방향을 제안하고자 한다. 또한 경제권 통합의 실현 기반이 되는 ISO 9001에 의한 품질경영시스템의 중요성을 다시 한 번 확인하는 것을 본 연구의 목표로 한다.

Assessing Indonesian Construction Regulations on Quality and Performance

  • Indonesian construction companies are currently facing high competition both among themselves and with global construction companies. In order to address this issue, the Government of Indonesia has enacted specific regulations and policies relating to the development and implementation of quality management systems (QMSs) ISO 9001 based in construction, acknowledging that the consistency of construction project quality requires a formal quality system as a guarantee to raise quality standards at all project stages. The research has been undertaken to examine the effectiveness of the regulations and policies against several key performance indicators (KPIs) of the ISO 9001 Indonesian construction companies. A comprehensive review of the relevant regulations and policies together with interviews with the Government and National Construction Services Development Board recommend possible additional guidelines and supporting quality system, which intends to measure contractors' project output against defined standards as well as to assess their performance among other similar service providers. The outcomes of the research contribute to the development of the Indonesian own construction industry quality measurement and assessment system.

  • As more and more companies pursue ISO 9000 certification, one of the most misconceptions about ISO 9000 is that registration is necessary only for business. ISO 9000 is being driven by commercial requirements, not legal fiat. This registration can be used as evidence of compliance to the ISO 9000 to satisfy specific customer requirements. The primary objective of this research is to provide the efficient implementation process of ISO 9000 certification on the basis of total quality management concerning with ISO/CDl 9001:2000, ISO/CDl 9004:2000 and ISO/CD2 9001:2000. Based on the result of first paper in May 1999, this study has been conducted using the data collected from 312 manufacturing companies which registered ISO 9000 certification. This analysis can be applied to Korean small and medium industrial companies in establishing and maintaining the development of qualify systems. The companies should be able to benefit if they make continuous effort to improve the quality activities based on the factors suggested in this paper.

  • It is important to manage quality and safety of a product for coping with fast-paced world effectively. This paper demonstrates an integrated model between ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Product Safety Management System. And the paper presents a method which decides key performance indicators (KPI) to be concentrated on the effectiveness of system operation. A case study shows an process for industry to implement the developed methodology.
