  • A multimedia remote ultrasound image transfer system for tole-medical services was implemented. The image data of the ultrasound scanner system of the slave is compressed using image compression system. It is transferred to the master PC via ISDN UNI(User-Network Interface) and decompressd by image decompression system. The total system is composed of three parts; first, the image capture card which transfers bidirection- al data between ultrasound scanner system and PC, second, image compression and decompression card, finally, ISDN TA(Terminal Adaptor) card for transferring the image. This system has a easy user interface because it is executed on the basis of MS-WINDOWS. So it is capable of serving medical services at a remote place.

  • In this paper, in order to develop the transmission system between the remote subscriber and the central office, the hardware and software implementation of a SMUX(Statistical Multiplexer)which can interleace eleven 16Kbps D-channels over a 64Kbps B-channel is obtained. As a result of this study, the high speed data transmission by the use of a dynamic buffer memory management algofithm for statistical multiplexing is realized. Especially a software architectur for interruption is proposed in order to improve performance of the transmission system more efficiently.

  • Recently, the improtance of the ISDN has been emphasized for the new services in the future information society. In this paper, new application of statistical multiplexer which can be used for CCITT D-channel multiplexing is suggested. The basic architecture of statistical multiplexer which can interleave eleven 16Kbps D-channels into one 64Kbps B-channel is also proposed. The necessary buffer size was estimated by computer simulation considering data traffic intensity, signal arrival length distribution and buffer overflow probability. Based on this buffer size, the basic architecture of the statistical multiplexer has been survetyed and hardware design principles are also studied.

  • It has been recognized several years ago that traffic engineering in the multiservice environment of future ISDN will bring an incredible amount of work to be done. It is also true that ISDN traffic studies have been performed in case by case with traffic engineers' own discipline and with a poor knowledge on traffic characteristics and user behavior. In this study three major mainstreams of the currently active research topics are identified, which need to be standardized and analyzed under some unifying concepts. Based on the results of CCITT discussions, an attempt is made to answer the each question. The standardized analysis method will be most important for the design, engineering and operation of the ISDN in future.

For the improvement on the structural problems of the previous PABX we designed the structure of the IP-PBX System, defined message and data structure for call control, designed call control state transition, and implemented call control message flows for user's communication.

  • In this paper, we analyze a traffic control schemes at the interworking unit(IWU) of the IEEE 802.6 DQDB MAN and the B-ISDN, and estimate its performance via computer simulation. We also study traffic management, relaying sublayers for the cases of four service classes defined in the B-ISDN. As for performance criteria, we consider slot waiting time, slot loss rate, and the fairness between DQDB nodes in access networks. We propose a simple control algorithm that decreases the waitint delay at the OWU. With the buffer size of 40 [slots] at the IWU, we have found that the slot loss rate was nearly zero at traffic load below 0.9, and the slot waiting time became less than 15 slot times.

  • In this paper, We analyze and inspect the problem of our country PSTN subscriber telephone number and suggest the ISDN/PSTN subsciber numbering plan in the future. Expecially, when you eastablish plan to change present telephone number system to ISDN telephone number system, public goverment and public office which has many calls have to be given a same number that many people want and being easy rememberance thoughout the country. Therefore we think that it is saving hours and reduce lost calls. As concrete action of convert plan it must be made consistent numbering plan when the numbering reorganization is carried out in Korea before T-time. If a partial is not carried out, it should be given when the telephone number is newly-organized or the big buliding and goverment and public office eastablich RSS individually. At that time chaos will be minimized.

  • In this paper, we introduce tree types of switching networks, I, e., a fully segregated type, a partially integrated type, and a fully integrated type switch, to accommodate nx 64Kb/s multi-slot connection traffic and analyze their blocking probabilites for the different traffic mixes by utilizing a computational algorithm of blocking probability, and finally determine the traffic handling capacity which satisfies the given grade of service. The fully integrated type switch can accommodate the ISDN traffic with relatively low wideband traffic. However, either the partially integrated type or the fully segregated type switch is needed to accommodate the ISDN traffic as the wideband traffic increases. This result can be usilized in the design of ISDN switching networks accommodating multi-slot connection traffic.
