A Study on 5G Service Methods by using BOCR Model and ANP

  • Recently, South Korea preferentially allocated frequencies to build 5G networks as a core competitiveness of the 4th Industrial Revolution. Although the government recognize the importance of 5G construction and preoccupation, network operators have limited to some services, testing the possibility of practical use of 5G. They hesitated to actively build and to carry out the service of a complete 5G network. While 5G is being developed and standardized like this, no one is sure of this step exactly what 5G will be. Thus, following research questions are asked by various stakeholders of 5G market: What is an ideal service providing method for the practical use of 5th generation mobile network? And what are the critical elements to be considered when selecting the service providing method? Therefore, the study aims to investigate 5G service providing issues and elements to be considered and to provide most appropriate service providing method for the practical use of 5G. The results identify that 'Specialized Service' is most appropriate method at the aspects of benefit and opportunity as well as the aspect of risk. In addition, the outcomes imply that the experts replying to the survey not only expect the expansion of emerging market, but also concern the social risk and cost. Since the study dealt with economic, social and business issues in providing 5G service, it might contribute not only to practical research, but also to academic research regarding 5G service method.

5 GHz 대역의 무선 LAN용 평면 역-F 안테나 설계 및 제작 (Design and Fabrication of a Planar Inverted-F Antenna for the Wireless LAN using the 5 GHz Band)

  • 5 GHz 대역의 무선 랜(LAN)용으로 크기가 작고 가벼우며 가격 이 싼 PIFA(Planar Inverted-F Antenna)를 설계한다. 질랜드(Zeland)사의 씨뮬레이션 툴인 IE3D를 사용하여 안테나를 설계하고 제작된 안테나의 측정결과를 분석한다. 제작된 안테나는 5.25 GHz에서 공진하고 정재파비가 1.5이하일 때 약 580 MHz의 대역폭을 갖는다.

  • 초급냉법중 단롤법으로 제작한 비정질 Fe/sub 68.5/Co/sub 5/M/sub 3/Cu/sub 1/Si/sub 13.5/ B/sub 9/(M=Nb, Mo, Mn, Cr)계 합금을 결정화온도 이상의 온도에서 열처리하여 결정화 시킨 후, 결정립 크 기에 따른 항자력, 투자율 및 교류자기이력손실을 조사 하였다. Fe/sub 68.5/Co/sub 5/M/sub 3/Cu/sub 1/ Si/sub 13.5/B/sub 9/(M=Nb, Mo, Mn, Cr)합금중 M=Mo, Nb조성에서 초미세결정립이 형성되며 약 10nm의 결정립 크기에서 가장 우수한 연자기적 특성을 나타낸다. 그러나 결정립의 크기가 10nm보다 작거나 16nm이 상 커지면 연자기 특성이 열화된다. 결정립크기가 10nm이하에서 연자기특성이 열화되는 것은 결정화 초기 결 정립계에 존재하는 것으로 판단되는 Fe rich 비정질상에 의한 것으로 고찰된다.

무선 LAN용 Bow-Tie안테나의 설계 및 제작 (Design and manufacture of Bow-Tie antenna for wireless LAN)

  • There are many researches to increase bandwidth of the microstrip patch antenna for wireless LAN. In spite of broad bandwidth, Bow-Tie microstrip patch antenna, broadband microstrip patch antenna, has disadvantages that are low gain and big size. In this paper, stacked Bow-Tie microstrip patch antenna for wireless LAN is designed in 5.725~5.825GHz band. This antenna has characteristics that are broadband bandwidth, high gain and small size compared with microstrip patch antenna. In simulated results, the return loss is -34.2dB at 5.78GHz and bandwidth is 11.345% for VSWR is 2:1 and 7.75% for VSWR is 1.5:1. In measured results, the return loss is -38-45dB at 5.78GHz and bandwidth is 13% for VSWR is 2:1 and 5.6% for VSWR is 1.5:1.

Satellite-based Assessment of Ecosystem Services Considering Social Demand for Reduction of Fine Particulate Matter in Seoul

  • Fine particulate matter (PM2.5) has been the biggest environmental problem in Korea since the 2010s. The present study considers the value of urban forests and green infrastructure as an ecosystem service (ES) concept for PM2.5 reduction based on satellite and spatial data, with a focus on Seoul, Korea A method for the spatial ES assessment that considers social demand variables such as population and land price is suggested. First, an ES assessment based on natural environment information confirms that, while the vitality of vegetation is relatively low, the ES is high in the city center and residential areas, where the concentration of PM2.5 is high. Then, the ES assessment considering social demand (i.e., the ESS) confirms the existence of higher PM2.5 values in residential areas with high population density, and in main downtown areas. This is because the ESS of urban green infrastructure is high in areas with high land prices, high population density, and above-average PM2.5 concentrations. Further, when a future green infrastructure improvement scenario that considers the urban forest management plan is applied, the area of very high ESS is increased by 74% when the vegetation greenness of the green infrastructure in the residential area is increased by only 20%. This result suggests that green infrastructure and urban forests in the residential area should be continuously expanded and managed in order to maximize the PM2.5 reduction ES.

  • The manifold $^*g-ESX_n$ is a generalized n-dimensional Riemannian manifold on which the differential geometric structure is imposed by the unied eld tensor $^*g^{{\lambda}{\nu}}$ through the ES-connection which is both Einstein and semi-symmetric. The purpose of the present paper is to study the algebraic geometric structures of 5-dimensional $^*g-ESX_5$. Particularly, in 5-dimensional $^*g-ESX_5$, we derive a new set of powerful recurrence relations in the first class.

기상청 기후예측시스템(GloSea5)의 여름철 동아시아 몬순 지수 예측 성능 평가 (Prediction Skill for East Asian Summer Monsoon Indices in a KMA Global Seasonal Forecasting System (GloSea5))

  • There are lots of indices that define the intensity of East Asian summer monsoon (EASM) in climate systems. This paper assesses the prediction skill for EASM indices in a Global Seasonal Forecasting System (GloSea5) that is currently operating at KMA. Total 5 different types of EASM indices (WNPMI, EAMI, WYI, GUOI, and SAHI) are selected to investigate how well GloSea5 reproduces them using hindcasts with 12 ensemble members with 1~3 lead months. Each index from GloSea5 is compared to that from ERA-Interim. Hindcast results for the period 1991~2010 show the highest prediction skill for WNPMI which is defined as the difference between the zonal winds at 850 hPa over East China Sea and South China Sea. WYI, defined as the difference between the zonal winds of upper and lower level over the Indian Ocean far from East Asia, is comparatively well captured by GloSea5. Though the prediction skill for EAMI which is defined by using meridional winds over areas of East Asia and Korea directly affected by EASM is comparatively low, it seems that EAMI is useful for predicting the variability of precipitation by EASM over East Asia. The regressed atmospheric fields with EASM index and the correlation with precipitation also show that GloSea5 best predicts the synoptic environment of East Asia for WNPMI among 5 EASM indices. Note that the result in this study is limited to interpret only for GloSea5 since the prediction skill for EASM index depends greatly on climate forecast model systems.

Molecular and Biochemical Studies on the DNA Replication of Bacteriophage T7: Functional Analysis of Amino-terminal Region of Gene 2.5 Protein

  • The product of bacteriophage T7 gene 2.5 is a single-stranded DNA binding protein and plays an important role in T7 DNA replication, recombination, and repair. Genetic analysis of T7 phage defective in gene 2.5 shows that the gene 2.5 protein is essential for T7 DNA replication and growth (Kim and Richardson, 1993). The C-terminal truncated gene 2.5 protein ($GP2.5-{\Delta}21C$) cannot substitute for wild-type gene 2.5 protein in vivo; suggesting that the C-terminal domain of gene 2.5 protein is essential for protein-protein interactions (Kim and Richardson, 1994; J. Biol. Chem. 269, 5070-5078). Truncated gene 2.5 proteins lacking 19 residues ($GP2.5-{\Delta}19N$) and 39 residues ($GP2.5-{\Delta}39N$) from the amino-terminal domain were constructed by in vitro mutagenesis. $GP2.5-{\Delta}19N$ can support the growth of T7 phage lacking gene 2.5 while $GP2.5-{\Delta}39N$ cannot substitute for wild-type gene 2.5 protein in vivo; however, its ability to bind to single-stranded DNA is not affected. These results clearly demonstrate that the 20~39 amino-terminal region of gene 2.5 protein is required for T7 growth in vivo but may not be involved in DNA binding activity.

스피넬 LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 양극 활물질의 구조 안정성 연구 (The Studies of Structural Stability of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 Spinel)

  • The stability of the cathode materials for Li secondary battery is an important factor for its cyclability. The present paper focuses on the structural stability of $LiNi_{0.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$ during lithiation/delithiation of Li ions and compared to that of $LiMn_{2}O_4$. $LiMn_{2}O_4$ and $LiNi_{0.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$ powders are synthesized using a solgel method and their structural and electrochemical properties are investigated by XRD, SEM, and charge-discharge tests. $Li_xMn_2O_4$ and $Li_xNi_{0.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$(x = 0.9,0.5,0.1) specimens are obtained after charge/discharge tests by controlling the cut-off voltage for XRD and TEM investigation. The charge-discharge tests shows that initial capacity of $LiNi_{0.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$ is 125 mAh/g and that of LiMn2O4 is around 100 mAh/g. The capacity of $LiNi_{0.5}Mn_{1.5}O_4$ is maintained 95% of its initial capacity whereas the capacity of $LiMn_{2}O_4$ is maintained 65% of its initial capacity.

임펠러 5-축 CNC 가공에 관한 연구 (A Study on The 5-Axis CNC Machining of Impeller)

  • The manufacture of an impeller typically requires the 5-axis CNC machining, since the impeller is usually under working conditions such as high speed, high temperature, and high pressure. Thus, this study contributes to development of an exclusive CAM system for effective 5-axis CNC machining of a ruled surface type impeller. In this study, the sampled impeller is made of blades and a body and the blade consists of ruled surfaces between hub curve and shroud curve. In the post processing for 5-axis NC part program, the cutter axis direction vector is the straighten vector on ruled surface. The position of ball center in ball end mill cutter is decided on the interference check between the cutter and body surface of impeller using with the modified z-map method that z-axis is the same of cutter axis direction vector. The exclusive CAM system for an impeller developed in this study was very effective for designs and 50-axis machining of a ruled surface type impeller.
