  • As electronic commerce becomes more common and the data volume of e-catalog increases, a systematic approach to data quality management is being required. Upon the necessity, we propose a process-based framework for e-catalog data quality management. This is the methodology for data management and improvement activities continuously performed to satisfy the expectation of industry to e-catalog systems. In the framework, contents for quality management consist of data, quality management items, and quality management processes. These are again subdivided according to organization levels, i.e, user, data administrator, and chief information officer.

  • Researches are working on integration of ontology in order to reuse the constructed ontologies. And lots of tools lot ontology integration have been developed and used. However conventional methods and tools have following shortages: they cannot integrate more than three ontologies at once, and numbers of people cannot work together for ontology integration with the tools. In this paper, we propose an ontology integration process (OntoIntegProcess) by using MetaOntology[1]. And we develop an ontology integration system (OntoIS) based on the process. We show the effectiveness of the proposed process and system through experimental results obtained from ontology integration.

  • Successful project planning relies on a good estimation of the manpower required to complete a project. The good estimation can be derived from Rutnam's Rayleigh Model or Phillai et al.'s Gamma Model. These models only can be applied for the projects which the need of manpower is increased exponentially and the highest of manpower is required at the end of development phase. However, in a practical project, most manpower is required during development phase and a small amount of manpower is assigned during maintenance phase. In addition, the Waterfall Model and Unified Process only can be adopted for development phase. So the current development environments cannot be adopted into the existing manpower distribution models which the highest manpower is required at the end of development phase. This paper suggests an appropriate model for development phase to solve this problem. First, the appropriate manpower distribution for development phase of the Waterfall model was derived from Putnam's manpower distribution and then manpower distribution of development phase was derived for Unified Process. After comparing the required manpower of two Processes, total manpower distribution is similar each other even though the required manpower and task is different for each point of development phase. From this result, a unified model is derived and it can be applied for both development processes.

  • Value Engineering(VE) at design phase(so-called Design-VE) becomes quite a compulsory solution for better customer satisfaction, cost reduction, higher product performance, and, eventually, insured predominance in the competition. Unlike intended, however, the customer requirement on Design-VE has not been fully reflected in reality. Furthermore, the Design-VE occasionally does not progress in regular sequence; Preparation for measuring customer requirement - Function analysis - Idea creation. Therefore, this study suggests Axiomatic Design Theory to be adopted in Design-VE process expecting that the functions required by the customer could systematically reflected in VE process. Post-occupancy Evaluation(POE) is also represented as a method to measure and arrange the customer requirements. The customer satisfaction Design-VE process creates ideas defining functions in more detailed, to reflect the concrete user requirement. This approach helps function analysis and idea creation linked closely because function and idea are developed zigzag (i.e. function - idea - function...) in being decomposed into level down. The application of the process proposed by this study will be helpful to improve the customer requirement measurement and clarify a link between functions and ideas.

  • Process mining in big data environment utilize a number of data were generated from the business process. It generates lots of knowledge and insights regarding implementation and improvement of the process through the event log of the company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. In recent years, various research activities engaged with the audit work of company organizations are trying actively by using the maximum strength of the mining process. However, domestic studies on applicable sales auditing system for the process mining are insufficient under big data environment. Therefore, we propose process-mining methods that can be optimally applied to online and traditional auditing system. In advance, we propose continuous monitoring information system that can early detect and prevent the risk under the big data environment by monitoring risk factors in the organizations of enterprise. The scope of the research of this paper is to design a pre-verification system for risk factor via practical examples in sales auditing. Furthermore, realizations of preventive audit, continuous monitoring for high risk, reduction of fraud, and timely action for violation of rules are enhanced by proposed sales auditing system. According to the simulation results, avoidance of financial risks, reduction of audit period, and improvement of audit quality are represented.

  • Due to the increasing demand and importance of non-face-to-face education, open online learning platforms are getting interests both domestically and internationally. These platforms exhibit different characteristics from online courses by universities and other educational institutions. In particular, students engaged in these platforms can receive more learner autonomy, and the development of tools to assist learning is required. From the past, researchers have attempted to utilize process mining to understand realistic study behaviors and derive learning patterns. However, it has a deficiency to employ it to the open online learning platforms. Moreover, existing research has primarily focused on the process model perspective, including process model discovery, but lacks a method for the process pattern and instance perspectives. In this study, we propose a method to identify learning patterns within an open online learning platform using process mining techniques. To achieve this, we suggest three different viewpoints, e.g., model-level, variant-level, and instance-level, to comprehend the learning patterns, and various techniques are employed, such as process discovery, conformance checking, autoencoder-based clustering, and predictive approaches. To validate this method, we collected a learning log of machine learning-related courses on a domestic open education platform. The results unveiled a spaghetti-like process model that can be differentiated into a standard learning pattern and three abnormal patterns. Furthermore, as a result of deriving a pattern classification model, our model achieved a high accuracy of 0.86 when predicting the pattern of instances based on the initial 30% of the entire flow. This study contributes to systematically analyze learners' patterns using process mining.

  • With the increasingly diverse, sophisticated and complex character animations that can be represented in 3D animations, the importance of rigging, which can most directly affect animating quality, is becoming more and more important. In addition, rapidity is another crucial aspect of 3D animation production. So, the importance of technical director's role which is accurate and rapid handling of rigging pipeline building and immediate application and, corrections of errors during the longest and manpower consuming animation production is more becoming key. Baek Ji Won and Kim Jae-woong (2014) said, "The technical director is adding new importance to the new job, which is created by 3D animation, in conjunction with the limited production period, manpower, budget and production process." Most major overseas studios are developing in-house software to handle rigging and animation processes. Software development code is used to freely develop and modify production pipelines in accordance with the direction of the work. They are making efforts to build an optimal environment for animators. However, too many efforts and ineffective efforts have been made to develop, adapt, and stabilize the rigging process for small producers, creators, and students who do not have the capacity to develop their own in-house software or hire a technical director. This study suggests the most suitable auto-rigging tool among the many auto-rigging tools released in the market, and suggests the most accurate and quick auto-rigging process setting method for those who have insufficient knowledge about 3D character rigging. The efficiency of use of auto-rigging tool was examined.

  • The environment of computational grid is composed of the LAN/WAN each of which has different efficiency and heterogeneous network conditions, and where various programs are running. In this environment, the role of the resource selection broker is very important because the work of each node is performed by considering heterogeneous network environment and the computing power of each node according to the characteristics of a program. In this paper, a new resource selection broker is presented that decides the number of work processes to be allocated at each node by considering network state information and the performance of each node according to the characteristics of a program in the environment of computational grid. The proposed resource selection broker has three steps as follows. First, the performance ratio of each node is computed using latency-bandwidth-cpu mixture information reflecting the characteristics of a program, and the number of work processes that will be performed at each node are decided by this ratio. Second, RSL file is automatically made based on the number of work processes decided at the previous step. Finally, each node creates work processes by using that RSL file and performs the work which has been allocated to itself. As experimental results, the proposed method reflecting characteristics of a program, compared with the existing (uniformity) and latency-bandwidth method is improved $278%\sim316%,\;524%\sim595%,\;924%\sim954%$ in the point of work amount, work process number, and node number respectively.

  • The planning for material lifting operations is one of the key processes in high-rise building construction. Several previous studies have used rough calculations by referring to existing practices or establishing a target value for lifting cycle time or operating rate. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to propose a material lifting process optimization method for reducing the lifting cycle time and increasing the operating rate. In this study, we improve the cyclic operation network (CYCLONE) modeling method that considers the duration and zone information of each work task. This method can be used to hand over work tasks to another crew group in the work process. According to this methodology, this study optimizes the material lifting process, performs a sensitivity analysis, and evaluates the field applicability of the proposed material lifting process optimization method. Therefore, the optimized process was then applied to a high-rise building construction site. The lifting work process time and operating rate for the simulated as - is lifting process data, optimized process data, and field application result data were compared for each lifting height. From this comparison, the effectiveness of the optimization methodology was confirmed.

  • B2B registries are information systems to register B2B related business information such as companies' profiles, business documents, business processes, and services and to provide query facilities to find information about potential business partners. Focusing on the design of the registry for B2B business processes, in this paper, a metadata ontology is designed to register B2B business processes. In practice, there are several competitive business process definition languages such as ebXML BPSS (Business Process Specification Schema), WSBPEL (Web Service Business Process Execution Language), BPMN (Business Process Modeling Notation), and so on. In order to register heterogeneous business processes based on different representation frameworks, the proposed metadata ontology consists of three layers, common metadata, language-specific metadata, and interrelationship metadata. To show the usefulness of the proposed metadata ontology, two examples which are represented by ebXML BPSS and WSBPEL respectively are described in order to show how the proposed metadata ontology is used to registry B2B business processes. To implement the proposed metadata ontology using ebXML registry, metadata mapping scheme to ebRIM (ebXML Registry Information Model) is also suggested.
