  • Since various type of wireless/mobile network likes WLAN, WIBRO, HSDPA were come to us, technology providing high quality multimedia service while user move are actively researched such as MIH (Media Independent Handover) proposed by IEEE for interworking between heterogeneous network and CMIP (Client Mobile IP), PMIP (Proxy Mobile IP) for mobility. Despite the technology about interworking and handover between heterogeneous network are actively researched, handover decision method need to be researched. In this paper we suggest a simple and effective handover method for high quality multimedia service in real wireless environment. For this, we use MIH+CMIP platform for target multimedia service to make handover decision rule in WIBRO and HSDPA networks. After apply this rule, we verified effectiveness of handover decision method through real test.

  • 증강방송 서비스는 하이브리드 방송(Hybrid Broadcasting) 환경 하에서 IP망을 통해 전송받은 증강 콘텐츠를 방송 프로그램과 같이 보여줌으로써 스마트TV와 같은 단말을 통해 증강 현실을 제공하는 서비스이다. 증강방송 서비스를 제공하기 위해서는 증강 콘텐츠의 위치(서버), 증강 콘텐츠가 표시될 화면상의 위치 및 시간 정보 등의 증강 콘텐츠 연동정보가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG-2 SYSTEM: Transport Stream의 서술자(Descriptor)를 통해 증강 콘텐츠 연동정보를 전송하는 방법 및 IP망의 증강 콘텐츠를 이용한 증강방송시스템을 제안한다.

  • 최근 초고속인터넷과 다채널 방송, VOD(Video on Demand), HDTV 등의 광대역 통합 서비스와 음성, 음악, 원격강시, 화상전화/회의 등의 부가기능을 제공하는 통신 서비스를 동시에 수용하기 위해 VDSL(Very high speed Digital Subscriber Loop)에 대한 연구가 진행중이다. 본 논문에서는 DSL 포럼 및 FS-VDSL 위원회의 기고서와 규격를 바탕으로 ATM과 IP 기반의 VDSL물 이용한 디지털 방송 서비스를 제공하기 위한 종단간 ATM 모델과 ATM-IP 연동 모델에 대한 망의 구성 및 프로토콜 스택을 제시하고 비교 분석한다. 그리고 ATM/VDSL 기반에서 DSM-CC(Digital Storage Media Command and Control)와 IGMP(Internet Group Management Protocol) 프로토콜을 이용한 디지털 방송 서비스 제공 절차를 제안한다.

Implementation of key establishment protocol using Signcryption for Secure RTP

  • Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) is widely used in VoIP stacks charging the multimedia data delivery. Concerning with payload protection of RTP packets, Secure RTP has been discussed in IETF AVT group to provide confidentiality and authentication features using block ciphering and message authentication coding. However, Secure RTP only concentrates on payload protection. Signcryption is a good candidate for key agreement. This paper proposes a key establishment protocol using Signcryption and shows example implementation of a secure VoIP application based on Secure RTP with the proposed scheme.

  • 재난상황에서 통신망의 불통상황에 대비하여 지상파 방송망을 통한 재난경보메시지를 전달하는 것이 사회안전망의 구축을 위해 매우 중요하게 부각되고 있다. 특히, 사회가 국제화 되고 다양한 국가의 사람들과의 경제 교류를 통해 국내 서비스라고 할지라도 외국인을 대상으로 한 재난경보 메시지도 제공 되어야 재난 상황에서 인명 피해를 최소화 할 수 있다. 지상파 방송 시스템은 비디오 등 정규 프로그램 편성 외에 데이터 채널을 활용하여 다양한 정보를 송출할 수 있으며, ATSC 3.0 방송 시스템은 IP 방식의 데이터 송출을 통해 특정 대상을 타겟으로 정보를 보내는 것이 가능하다. 따라서 이러한 지상파 방송망을 통한 IP 데이터 송출의 장점을 잘 활용하면 재난 상황에서 적은 데이터를 가지고도 효율적으로 다양한 언어로 국민들에게 안전 정보를 보낼 수 있다. 이를 통해 국내 거주 외국인들이 재난에 대비하는데 크게 기여할 수 있다. 본 연구는 디지털 방송망을 통해 다국어 재난메시지를 보내기 위한 효율적인 방법을 제안한다.

  • Internet was first designed only for sending data, but as the time passed, internet started to evolve into a broadband multi-media web that is capable of transmitting sound, video, high-capacity data and more due to the demands of internet users and the rapid changing internet-communication technology. Domestically, in January, 2000 Saerom C&T, launched a free VoIP, but due to limited ways of conversation(PC to PC) and absence of a revenue model, and bad speech quality, it had hit it's growth limit. This research studied VoIP based on technological enhancement in super-speed internet. According to IDC, domestic internet market's size was 80,800 million in 2008, and it formed a percentage of 12.5% out of the whole sound-communication market. in case of VoIP, it is able to maximize it's profit by connecting cable and wireless network, also it has a chance of becoming firm-concentrated monopoly market by fusing with IPTV. Considering the fact that our country is insignificant in MVNO revitalization, regulating organizations will play a significant roll on regulating profit between large and small businesses. Further research should be done to give VoIP a secure footing to prosper and become popularized.

A Study on the Web Novel Writer's Identity as a Media Content Producer: An In-Depth Interview and Self-description (미디어 콘텐츠 생산자로서 웹소설 작가의 정체성 연구: 심층 인터뷰와 자기기술지를 중심으로)

  • With the advent of the OTT platform, the world has become an era in which the same media content is shared and reacted in real time by being grouped into one culture. This study attempts a producer study of web novel writers, who are producers of the web novel market that is expanding into webtoons, dramas, and movies with IP (intellectual property rights) of the original story at a time when Korean K-content such as "Squid Game" and "Weird Lawyer Woo Young-woo" leads the global market. In this study, web novel writers were viewed as producers of commercial media content, not just 'Novelist', and their identities and characteristics of the labor process were examined. Web novel writers began writing web novels as a side job or two jobs, and cited the fact that they can make profits alone without barriers to entry and without incurring capital or facility costs. Although there is no barrier to entry, most writers experience severe failure in their first work, which is attributed to the misunderstanding that the word "writer" is someone who writes what they want in any genre. Web novels are different, so writers go through the process of realizing that in order to succeed by writing web novels, they must be thoroughly in the audience's shoes and write them according to the trends and codes they want. Web novel writers expressed their identity as "story sellers," "story producers," "people who can produce IP alone," and "people who satisfy fantasies that cannot be achieved in reality," and in common, there was a strong sense of being a person who provides stories and makes profits or sales. Regarding the burden of writing a huge amount of web novels, the writer with a high income expressed a generous position that "the income is higher than the effort," but ordinary writers complained of difficulties in the hard work, saying, "It seems like I am working hard on writing that I have to write constantly.

  • This paper discusses a tester of functionality and call processing performance, based on the MEGACO/H.248 protocol that both IETF and ITU-T recommend as a media gateway control protocol, of both a media gateway controller and an access gateway which constitute a next generation convergence network. Effective methods, a functional architecture and implementation for such testification are provided. Especially included are not only a virtual emulation function of analog subscriber lines connecting to an access gateway, but also a tester emulated as a counter system of the protocol for the testifying a media gateway controller and an access gateway system.

  • 최근 XR은 LED스크린의 VR과 그 LED 스크린의 외부영역을 AR 그래픽으로 덮는 방법으로 LED에서 표현되는 VR영상과 확장된 AR의 효과로 LED VR의 확장의 개념으로 가상환경 제작으로서 많이 시도 되고 있다. 그러나, 여전히 LED 스크린의 VR에서 어떤 가상의 객체가 AR로 튀어 나올 때 타이밍을 맞추어 전환해야 할 경우 부자연스럽거나 동기가 맞지 않아 합성결과가 어긋나 품질이 떨어지며, 여러 객체를 동시에 수동으로 전환시켜야 할 때 객체의 제어에 어려움이 많을 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 그래픽 오브젝트가 VR과 AR의 경계를 오갈 때 자동으로 자연스럽게 전환/합성 가능하도록 하는 'Culling 박스'와 또, 여러 렌더링 머신에서 같은 오브젝트 제어를 동시에 제어 가능한 'TCP/IP 기반의 원격제어 UI'를 설명한다. 컬링박스는 전환해야 할 객체가 많은 복잡한 장면에서 모든 오브젝트가 일정 경계에서 자동으로 전환되며, 원격제어 UI의 타임라인 에디터와 이벤트 제어메뉴 UI를 통하여, 각각의 다른 머신의 시퀀스 및 오브젝트들을 제어 가능하여 효율적인 XR제작이 가능함을 확인 하였다.
