  • This paper presents a position control system for a linear induction motor(LIM) with cage-type secondary using direct thrust control(DTC). The position controller, that combines the merits of integral-proportional(IP) speed control, is designed for the LIM. The actual position of the LIM is defected by the linear scale the resolution of 100. Thrust correction coefficient due to the end effect of the LIM is utilized in estimating actual thrust. As a result, responses of the position, speed, thrust, and flux are shown.

Development of a Hardware-In-Loop (HIL) Simulator for Spacecraft Attitude Control Using Momentum Wheels

  • In this paper, a Hardware-In-the-Loop simulator to simulate attitude control of space craft using momentum wheels is developed. The simulator consists of a spherical air bearing system allowing rotation and tilt in all three axes, three momentum wheels for actuation, and an AHRS (Attitude Heading Reference System). The simulator processes various types of data in PC104 and wirelessly communicates with a host PC using TCP/IP protocol. A simple low-cost momentum wheel assembly set and its drive electronics are also developed. Several experiments are performed to test the performance of the momentum wheels. For the control performance test of the simulator, a PID controller is implemented. The results of experimental demonstrations confirm the feasibility and validity of the Hardware-In-the-Loop simulator developed in the current study.

  • The modern power system including lots of measuring devices and controller is large and complex total information system. A Lot of data and system information are transmitted to operators, and analysing these information and system management is very important. Recently, GUI(Graphic Users Interface) is emphasized as a method that operators carry out their duties, effectively. In this paper. a simulator that can show state estimation and detection of bad measuring devices is introduced for domestic 154kV/22.9kV distribution substations. C language and Visual Basic is used for this simulator. and TCP/IP is adopted to consider connection with a Power system.

  • This paper introduces the key features of NCS (Network based Control System), which is quite a new concept in the industrial automation market. Two control systems "DCS" and "PLC" have been recognized as control systems used for process and factory automation during the past decades. However, the market requires more complex functionality, such as monitoring and operation, alarm handling and notification from remote locations using the Web or e-mail. Besides enhancing functionality, interoperability between each device and system is highly required since network and engineering tools provided by many vendors do not cooperate with each others, so that lots of conversion, reconfiguration and reprogramming are required when expanding systems. NCS can meet this requirement, installing leading-edged IT technology using international standards for network and engineering environment. NCS, which is a harmony of web functionality, networkability and a reliable control function, enables information integration and responding to the market's requirements with agility and high reliability.

  • 오늘날 자동차에서 배출되는 유해 가스로 인한 지구 온난화를 막기 위하여 많은 환경규제를 받고 있다. 때문에 대부분의 국가들은 출시되는 자동차나 운행 중인 자동차에 대하여 배출가스 검사를 의무적으로 실시하여 배출가스에 의한 대기오염을 줄일 수 있도록 법제화하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 "배출가스 검사/진단시스템" 개발에 대한 고찰을 통하여 배출가스, RPM, 소음을 측정할 수 있는 MCU(micro controller unit) 기반의 데이터 계측기에 대한 설계방안을 제시하고자 한다. 또한, MCU를 기반으로 배출가스(HC, CO, CO2 등) 데이터 확보를 위한 광학 필터처리 기술 및 신호처리 알고리즘을 검토하였다. 자동차의 RPM을 측정할 수 있는 알고리즘에 대한 검토와 배출가스 및 소음을 측정할 수 있는 알고리즘을 개발하여 RS-485, TCP/IP 기반으로 데이터를 전송할 수 있는 배출가스 검사시스템을 제시하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문의 목표는 디지털방송과 인터넷의 융합에 따른 MPEG-2/4/7 방송 및 인터넷 콘텐츠을 비롯한 게임등과 같은 다양한 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공하기 위한 차세대 지능형 고품질 홈 엔터테인먼트 시스템 Platform 개발이다. 디지털 방송과 데이터방송 수신이 가능한 Set-Top Box기능, 수신된 방송의 저장 및 재생이 가능한 PDR 기능, MPEG-2 형식을 MPEG-4 형식으로 변환하는 Transcoding 기능, VOD 서비스를 제공하기 위한 Streaming 기능 등을 지원할 수 있는 시스템의 구조를 설계하였다. 이러한 지능형 고품질 서비스를 지원하기 일해 고성능 시스템이 필요하다. 시스템 제어를 위한 CPU 로는 PMC-Sierra사의 MIPS Architecture에 기반을 둔 RM5231 을 채택하고, MPEC-4 Decoding, BIFS Presentation Engine과 Streaming 서비스와 MPEC-7 Metadata Generator/Parser 을 위해 ARM Architecture에 기반을 둔 Intel80200 Processor 를 채택하였다. 또한, 디지털방송을 위한 MPEC-2 Decoder Chip 인 Teraloglc 사의 TL811 System Controller 와 TL851 Graphics& Display Processor 를 채택하였다. 개발된 시스템을 테스트하기 위하여 DVB-MHP Server와 MPEG-4 IP Streaming Server 를 구축하여 디지털 방송과 Streaming 서비스를 테스트하였다.

Internet-Based Remote Control of the Intelligent Robot (지능형 로봇의 인터넷 기반 원격 제어)

  • In this paper, we implement the internet-based remote control system for intelligent robot. For remote control of the robot, it uses the socket communication of the TCP/IP. It consists of the user interface and the robot control interface. Robot control interface transmits the navigation and environmental informations of the robot into the user interface. In order to transmit the large environmental images, a JPEG compression algorithm is used. User interface displays the navigation status of the robot and transmits the navigation order into the robot control interface. Also, we propose the design method of the fuzzy controller using navigation data acquired by expert's knowledge or experience. To do this, we use virus-evolutionary genetic algorithm(VEGA). Finally, we have shown the proposed system can be operated through the real world experimentations.

  • Intelligent Wearable Module is intelligent system that arises when a human is part of the feedback loop of a computational process like a certain control system. Applied system is mobile robot. This paper represents the mobile robot control system remote controlled by Intelligent Wearable Module. So far, owing to the development of internet technologies, lots of remote control methods through internet have been proposed. To control a mobile robot through internet and guide it under unknown environment, We propose a control method activated by Intelligent Wearable Module. In a proposed system, PDA acts as a user interface to communicate with notebook as a controller of the mobile robot system using TCP/IP protocol, and the notebook controls the mobile robot system. Tlle information about the direction and velocity of the mobile robot feedbacks to the PDA and the PDA send new control method produced from the fuzzy inference engine.

  • In this paper, network management system(NMS) was developed using Ethernet network for several devices. Recently, due to the development of the information communication, network has been constructed several place. And management system using network has been studied due to the increment of necessity of remote control for industrial device. Agent board that necessity of NMS, was developed using general micro-controller, it operates like stand-alone network device, supports TCP/IP protocol suite, has the ability to connect to industrial device and communicates each other. Also manager base on MMI was developed, it operates with agent board and supports effective management. To prove this system UPS(uninterruptible power supply) is selected as the example of industrial device. Finally, experimental result verifies the communication between agent board and manager.
