본 논문에서는 3GPP2 IMT-2000 서비스를 위해 기존 음성 및 인터넷 인프라를 수용할 수 있으며, IMT-2000망에서 Mobile-IP over IMT-2000 패킷 데이터 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 두가지 상호연동 모델을 제안한다. 구현 모델에서는 PDSN(Packet Data Sowing Node) 또는 IWF(Interworking Function)의 기능이 통합된 구조와 각 기지국에 분리된 2가지 모델로 설계한다. 이 모델을 구현하기 위해 Mobile-IP over IMT-2000 프로토콜 스택과 cdma2000을 사용하며, 이를 사용하여 채널 상태에 따른 운용 시나리오와 핸드오프 기법을 기술한다.

IMT-2000 moving picture messaging service is a primary auxiliary connection service that allows a caller to leave a message when the caller can not complete the call. As the number of service subscriber for wireless communication is dramatically increased, various wireless services as well as simple connection service are requried IMT-2000 moving picture messaging service increases the call completion rate and makes it possible to provide various services.

제 3 세대 이동 통신인 IMT-2000 서비스의 목적은 언제 어디서나 어떠한 환경 하에서도 고품질의 영상과 신뢰성 있는 멀티미디어 서비스를 제공한다는 점이다. 기존의 2 세대 이동통신에서의 엔터테인먼트 서비스가 텍스트 기반의 온라인 게임이나 단순한 이미지 및 그래픽 파일 그리고 저 해상도의 영상만이 제공되었다면 IMT-2000 상에서의 엔터테인먼트 서비스는 개인화가 부각된, 눈으로 보고 느낄 수 있는 고 부가가치의 영상서비스를 제공 할 것이다. 사용자는 정지 또는 이동 중에도 IMT 단말기로 3 차원 게임을 즐기고 실시간 또는 주문형 영상 및 음악을 시청하며 여행정보를 수집하는 등의 더욱 더 효과적인 무선 오락을 즐길 수 있도록 기존의 시간 때우기 식의 개념에서 벗어나 자신만의 가상 세계를 체험할 수 있는 사이버 월드의 킬러 서비스로서 기반을 다져가야 할 것이다. 본 고에서는 IMT-2000 엔터테인먼트 서비스와 이에 관련되는 소요기술 등을 기술 하고자 한다.

WRC-2000에서는 IMT-2000 서비스 제공을 목적으로 하는 HAPS(High Altitude Platform Station) 시스템에 1885-1980MHz, 2010-2025MHz 그리고 2110-2170MHz 대역을 할당하였다. 하지만 이 대역은 이미 기존의 지상 IMT-2000 서비스를 제공하는 시스템에 할당된 대역이다. 이에 본 논문에서는 인접 대역에서 HAPS 시스템으로부터 지상 IMT-2000 시스템으로의 간섭 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해, 서비스와 시스템의 요구 사항 분석, 분석용 시스템의 파라미터 설정, 간섭 분석 시나리오 및 알고리즘 개발을 통한 시스템 성능평가를 행하여 HAPS 시스템과 기존의 위성/지상 시스템간의 주파수 공유 체계를 확립하고 주파수 공유를 위한 기술기준을 도출하고자 한다.

In this paper, we develop a framework for identifying the quality of service(QoS) and network performance (NP) in the IMT-2000 services, and analyze the QoS/NP system in the 3GPP IMT-2000 services. Based on the ITU-T E.800, the QoS is classified into customer, technical, contents, telecommunications quality, and internet communication quality, and the NP consists of the service access/transmission, reliability/operating & maintenance, charging performance, and mobility management performance. Under the basic framework, the major parameters in the IMT-2000 services are identified for each QoS/NP criterion. The QoS framework in the IMT-2000 user aspects is also introduced to determine the major QoS parameters. Finally, to define the performance factors of the network elements in the NP system, the various control parameters for the wireless and core networks are presented.

무선 이동 망에서는 멀티미디어 서비스의 QoS를 만족시키기 위해서는 사용자 위치관리와 핸드오프관리가 보다 효율적으로 이루어져야 한다. 이를 위해서는 IMT-2000 HLR과 PCS HLR의 차별성 및 지능 망 연계와 패킷 데이터 서비스 제공이 HLR에 미치는 영향을 분석하고 IMT-2000에서 서비스 제공에 대한 전반적인 개념인 VHE와 인터넷 접속을 위한 패킷 데이터서비스와 2세대 이동 망 기술을 기반으로 QoS의 만족을 위한 효율성에 관해서 연구하였다.

기존 이동통신 시스템은 단말 및 개인 이동성의 결여, 저조한 데이터 전송율, 그리고 서비스 도입 및 호환성의 어려움이 존재한다. 이를 해소하기 위해 국제적으로 차세대 이동통신 시스템으로 IMT-2000에 대한 연구와 개발이 이루어지고 있다. 또한 IMT-2000은 기본적으로 지능망에 근간한 구조를 지향하며, 다양한 서비스들의 실현 및 신속한 도입을 위하여 지능망이 IMT-2000의 기능 모델 표준으로 채택되고 있으며. 이를 기반으로 다양한 서비스가 개발되고 있다. 한편 IN CS-2의 목표서비스(target service) 의 하나로서 가상 사설망 서비스는 기존 사설망의 독립적인 망 운영을 유지하면서, 공중망의 자원을 이용하여 기존 사설망의 과다한 초기 투자 비용을 해소시키는 장점을 제공한다. 본 논문은 IMT-2000의 서비스 제어를 위해 IMT-2000의 망 구종에 도입된 지능망 모델을 분석하고 IMT-2000상에서 특히 기존 고정/이동 통신망과 달리 기본적으로 제공되는 개인 이동성을 고려하여 지능망의 서비스 제어 모델에 따라 가상 사설망 서비스를 설계한다.

2000년대 초반에 서비스가 개시될 것으로 예상되는 IMT-2000 시스템은 전세계적으로 단일 표준을 결정하여 하나의 단말기로 세계적인 고품질 서비스를 목적으로 하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IMT-2000 시스템의 가입자 인증 프로토콜을 설계할 때 고려해야 할 보안 사항을 살펴보며 IMT-2000 시스템을 위한 보안 고려사항을 만족하는 효율적인 가입자 인증 프로토콜을 제안한다. 제안된 프로토콜은 가입자 인증, 가입자의 위치정보 보호와 안전한 통신을 제공하며 IMT-2000 시스템의 서비스 목표인 글로벌 로밍을 제공한다.

This paper reviews the benefits of users participation in IMT-2000 standardization by the creation of users coalitions, focusing in particular on phased standards strategy necessary for the evolutionary approach from second generation to third generation systems. It first presents in detail the current status of IMT-2000 standardization progress occurring at each regional standard body including TIA of US, ETSI of Europe, TTA of Korea and ARIB of Japan. With this clear understanding of standardization situations worldwide, we may be able to come up with our standards strategies related to IPR issues and efficient standard-setting mechanism between manufacturers and service providers. In addition, this paper addresses the necessity for phased licensing of IMT-2000 service in order to avoid the high cost of new infrastructures and ensure an acceptable financial investment returns for existing cellular and PCS service providers. An author hopes that this paper can provide the adequate standardization directions of IMT-2000 to satisfy the varying regional and global market requirements.

In the mobile communication service market, this study represents an attempt to forecast the subscribers of the IMT-2000 service market using the questionnaire of experts which is the qualitative technique is used. In this study, by using the substitution model of next generations among products in order to analyze the IMT-2000 demand of service, a demand was predicted. And by estimating the market demand prospect in which it becomes the important factor of the IMT-2000 service diffusion according to each bandwidth frequency the politically necessary approaching direction about the frequency was presented. It will be able to become the important part to not only the business carrier but also the policy maker to examine a prospect toward the subscriber of the IMT-2000 service. As a result, the market demand was exposed to be most big when the SKT 800MHz, and the KTF 800(900)MHz were used as the additional frequency. And it was likely to reach to the IMT-2000 number of subscribers to about 35.750 thousand peoples in the future at 2015.
