  • In this paper, it is analysed the spectrum of optical fiber output through a sunlight collector system. Also the lighting environments under the optical fiber bundles are predicted when applied to interior lighting by using a simulation program. As the result its feasibility as an interior lighting source shows any serious problem except the system cost.

  • A high-efficiency turbo steam compressor has been successfully developed for the MVR desalination system, first one in Korea. The state-of-the-art design methods using real gas properties were applied to get all the aerodynamic design results. Bull and pinion gear trains, tilting-pad bearings and investment cast impellers were developed also to be integrated into the integral gear-driven turbo steam compressor. System tests show highly efficient performance.

  • In this paper, we present the analysis results of TCSC(Thyritor Controlled Series Capacitor) operating characteristics with damping resisters. This TCSC system is designed for KERI simulator. It consists of many power system components, which are generator models, scale-downed transmission line modules, transformers, switches, FACTS(Flexible AC Transmission System) devices.

  • 본 논문은 변압기 주 소음원인 철심에서 발생하는 소음의 저감을 위한 연구에 대하여 기술하였다. 변압기 본체소음의 발생원인과 철심의 자속밀도에 따른 소음 level의 차이, 철심의 적층방식에 따른 소음저감효과에 대하여 연구하였으며, 축소형 모델 및 실모델(154kV 변압기)을 제작하여 실증하였다.

  • This study suggests focused in user-centered design which are new separate discharge system that must recycle in paper materials. I searched cases in Korea's current law and regulation in recycling disposal guidelines and already succeed cases in each city that are Asia, Europe, and North America. Suggesting focused in user-centered design of ID(Identification) separate discharge system due to user's good participations, feedbacks of participation's results, and well-organized in awarding. This system consists of visual individual's ID(Identification) that are stickered in only used bag. User must recycle in separate discharge system only used bags, and results must visualized in each user and rewards to user. This separate discharge system is meaning to stimulate user's good participations.

  • In this study, CFD model for a Heat Exchange Steam Reformer (HESR) used for a 10kW SOFC system is developed for the design optimization of the HESR. The model is used to explore the effect of design parameters on the performance of the HESR. In the HESR, heat is delivered from the hot gas channel to the fuel channel to supply the heat required for the fuel reforming. In the fuel channel where the fuel is reformed, thermo-fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and chemical reaction are considered to predict the performance of the reformer. The model is validated with experimental data within 2~3% error. The validated model is used for the parametric study of the HESR design. Channel length, channel diameter, and flow direction are selected as the design parameters. The effects of the HESR design parameters on the outlet temperature, outlet H2 mole fraction, and pressure drop across the reformer are presented using the model.

  • Aromatic polyamides and polyesters with fexible spacers are prepared by Heck reaction with palladium catalysts In presence of carbon monoxide gas. Dichlorobis(triphenyl phosphine) plladium(II) ($PdCl_2(PPh_3)_2$) and palladium chloride ($PbCl_2$) are used as catalysts. Polyamides and polyesters prepared by his polymerization system have similar transition temperatures. Flexible spacer substituted on phenylene units are varied from hexyl to hexadecyl, the length of spacers effected on transition temperatures of substituted polymers.

Improved photoresponsivity of AlGaN UV photodiode using antireflective nanostructure (반사방지 나노 구조체를 이용한 AlGaN UV 광다이오드의 광반응도 향상)

  • In this study, we proposed an anti-reflective nano-structure to improve the photoresponsivity of AlGaN UV photodiode that can be used as a receiver in a solar blind UV optical communication system. The anti-reflective nano-structure was fabricated by forming Ni nano-clusters on SiO2 film followed by etching the underneath SiO2 film. A sample with the anti-reflective nano-structure exhibited lower surface reflection along with less dependency on the wavelength in comparison with a sample without the nano-structure. Finally, a UV photodiode was fabricated by applying an anti-reflective structure produced by heat-treating a 2 nm-thick Ni layer. The photodiode fabricated with the proposed nano-structure exhibited noticeable improvement in the photoresponsivity at the wavelength range from 240 nm to 270 nm in comparison with the same photodiode with a SiO2 film without the nano-structure.
