This study details and examines a novel ligation-mediated polymerase chain reaction (LM-PCR) method. Named the LM-PCR/Shifter, it relies on the use of a Class IIS restriction enzyme giving restriction fragments with different 4-base, 5' overhangs, this being the Shifter, and the ligation of appropriate oligonucleotide adapters. A sequence of 4-base, 5' overhangs of the adapter and a 4-base sequence of the 3' end of the primer(s) determine a subset of the genomic restriction fragments, which are amplified by PCR. The method permits the differentiation of bacterial species strains on the basis of the different DNA band patterns obtained after electrophoresis in polyacrylamide gels stained with ethidium bromide and visualized in UV light. The usefulness of the LM-PCR/Shifter method for genotyping is analyzed by a comparison with the restriction endonuclease analysis of chromosomal DNA by the pulsed-field gel electrophoresis (REA-PFGE) and PCR melting profile (PCR MP) methods for isolates of clinical origin. The clustering of the LM-PCR/Shifter fingerprinting data matched those of the REA-PFGE and PCR MP methods. We found that the LM-PCR/Shifter is rapid, and offers good discriminatory power and excellent reproducibility, making it a method that may be effectively applied in epidemiological studies.

본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 센서 네트워크의 핵심인 RFID에 대한 응용기술을 개발하기 위하여 대상을 놀이공원으로 잡고, 공원에 출입하는 입장객들이 각 놀이 기구에 입장한 시간과 나가는 시간을 자동으로 입력 받아서 데이터베이스에 저장한 후에 전체적인 놀이공원 인원 배치에 관한 합리적인 지시, 명령을 도출하도록 하는 프로그램을 개발하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 이를 위하여 본 논문에서는 13.25Mhz 대의 RFID 센서와 마이크로소프트사의 MSSQL 데이터베이스와 IIS 웹서버를 기반으로 하는 시스템 구축을 수행하였다. 이를 위하여 SkyeTek사의 RFID 리더를 기반으로 시스템을 구축하여 호스트 PC와 연동 프로그램을 C++ 언어를 이용하여 개발하였고, ASP.NET과 $C\#$을 이용한 웹사이트 구축하였으며, RFID 리더의 태그 인식 범위를 확장하기 위한 외장형 안테나를 제작한 $30\~40$ cm 수준의 인식 거리를 보장하는 동판형 안테나를 개발하였으며, 시스템에 적용한 결과 성능의 우수함을 확인하였다.

The problem of query rewriting using views has interested in the context of data integration where source data is described by the views on global relations. When the query and views are of the form of conjunctive queries, the rewriting is a union of conjunctive queries each of which is contained in the original query and consists of only views. Most previous methods for query rewriting using views are 2-step algorithms. In the first step, they identify the views that are useful in rewriting and in the second step they construct all correct rewritings by combining the views that gained in the first step. The larger the number of selected views in the first step, the larger the number of candidate rewritings in the second step. We want to minimize the number of selected views in the first step by defining stringent conditions for a view to be participated in rewritings. In this paper, first we offer a necessary condition for the existence of a rewriting that includes a view. For the common case that predicate repetitions are not allowed in the bodies of views, we show that our algorithm for testing the condition is done in a polynomial-time. Second, we offer an algorithm to construct contained rewritings using the view instances that are computed in the first step. The exponential containment-mapping test in the second step is not needed in our algorithm.

본 시스템은 웹 상에서 가상으로 메이크업과 헤어스타일 그리고 액세서리 등을 사용자 자신의 얼굴에 적용시켜 볼 수 있는 시뮬레이션 시스템이다. 시뮬레이션의 결과는 데이타베이스에 저장되며 프린터로도 출력이 가능하다. 본 시스템은 자바 애플릿으로 제작되어 서비스가 되므로 웹 브라우저 이외의 클라이언트 프로그램은 필요하지 않으며, 웹 브라우저에 자바 플러그인만 설치되어 있으면 실행이 가능하다. 윈도 2000의 IIS 웹 서버와 MS-SQL7 데이타베이스를 이용하여 구현하였으며, 자바 애플릿과 데이타베이스의 연결은 상용화된 JDBC Driver Type 4를 이용하였다. 구현된 VMSS는 웹 기반의 서비스 제공을 위한 새로운 컨텐츠 개발의 유형을 제시하였으며, 다양한 분야에 대한 응용이 가능할 것으로 생각된다.

In this paper, we analyze the capability of satellite broadcasting systems to offer different levels of quality of service (QoS). We focus on the European telecommunications standards institute satellite digital radio and digital video broadcasting satellite handheld (DVB-SH) standards, which have recently been proposed for satellite broadcasting communications. We propose a strategy to provide different levels of QoS for the DVB-SH standard on the basis of an extension of the interleaving scheme, referred to as molded interleaver, which supports low latency service requirements for interactive services. An extensive analysis based on laboratory measurements shows the benefits of this solution. We also present a multilevel coding (MLC) scheme with multistage decoding designed for broadcasting communications as an alternative to the existing standards, where services with different levels of QoS are provided. We present a graphical method based on mutual information for the design and evaluation of MLC systems used for broadcasting communications. Extensive simulations for a typical satellite channel show the viability of the proposed MLC scheme. Finally, we introduce multidimensional constellations in the proposed MLC scheme in order to increase the number of different protection levels.

The IIS(Internal Insulation System) is applied in most Korean apartment buildings which are the most common type of residential buildings. Consequently, there are many cases in which the layer of insulation is disconnected by the structural components at the wall-slab and wall-wall joints in the envelope. These joints become thermal bridges where the risk of heat loss increases. It is expected that the EIFS(External Insulation and Finish System) is the solution to this problem. In this study, annual heating and cooling loads of apartment buildings with IIS and EIFS were compared using Design Builder program in order to evaluate the thermal storage effect of EIFS where the concrete thermal mass is located inside of the insulation material. As results, the apartment building with EIFS could reduce annual heating and cooling loads by 2.4% and 4.1%, respectively.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에서 중요한 기술 중 하나로 평가되는 음성인식 및 합성기술은 인간과 컴퓨터의 상호 작용에 있어 가장 편리하고 보편적인 방법이다. 음성인식 및 합성기술을 이용한 인간과 컴퓨터 상호작용 기반의 애플리케이션의 개발을 위해 음성 확장성 생성 언어(VoiceXML)을 이용하면 음성 인식 및 합성에 관한 전문 지식이 없어도 애플리케이션 제작을 쉽게 할 수 있다는 장점이 있어서 음성인식 및 합성기술의 인프라 구축과 저변 확대를 목적으로 일부 국내 업체들은 VoiceXML을 이용한 음성 애플리케이션을 제작하고 실험할 수 있도록 VoiceXML 실험 환경을 제공한다. 본 논문에서는 기존에 공개된 실험 환경을 소개하고, 다양한 실험 환경 제공을 위해 기존에 있던 Linux기반의 실험 환경과는 다른 Windows NT기반의 IIS(Internet Information Service)를 이용한 VoiceXML실험 환경을 제안하고 구현하였다. 그 결과 ASP(Active Server Page)와 ADO(ActiveX Data Object)를 이용한 VoiceXML음성 애플리케이션 실험이 가능한 환경을 구축하였고, 사용자 평가 결과 제안한 방법이 유효하다는 것을 확인하였다.

본 논문에서는 PC 또는 mobile phone에서 web server로 접속하여 모형 자동차를 무선 환경에서 원격으로 제어하는 기능을 Linux 기반의 embedded system을 이용하여 구현하였다. 본 system에는 IIS(Internet Information Service) 와 LODEK embedded system 및 ASP(Active Server Pages) 가 사용 되었으며 motor 제어 회로가 구현되었다.

The purpose of this study is to show the operations and implementations of ASP web database which uses open-source web site packages called bighitonline video shop. Some literature reviews have been done to reveal robust theoretical background for this research And also, some basic experiments as Preparatory Processes have also been made by using some softwares such as Windows XP professional, IIS, MS SQL Server and others. The main purpose of these experiments is to show strong theoretical and practical backgrounds. These experimental results in the micro-level showed to be successful to understand the Interrelations of web components and web-site architectures.
