전력선 주파수 모니터링을 위한 Intelligent Electronic Device(IED) 플랫폼 (A Power-line Frequency Monitoring Intelligent Electronic Device(IED) Platform)

  • This paper presents an intelligent electronic device(IED) platform which is based on a new frequency estimation algorithm. The IED platform features not only the accurate estimation of frequency but also the fast network-based transmisstion of fault data and waveforms. The simulation results show that the proposed frequency estimation algorithm improves convergence speed, and has lower frequency estimation error compared with those of conventional algorithms. The network-based IED is designed to ensure transmission latency being less than 1.0% of sampling interval.

  • 본 논문에서는 IED(Intelligent Electronic Devices)에서의 고조파 문제를 연구하였다. 최근 전력전자 기술의 급격한 발전으로 비선형부하에 의한 전력 품질의 왜곡이 심각해지고 있다. 연속적인 고조파 전류는 전련기기의 수명을 단축시키고 발열 문제가 발생하며 비정상적인 동작을 유발한다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위한 디지털 보호계전 시스템에서 전통적인 방법으로 전력을 계측하면 고조파의 영향을 고려할 수 없다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 TMS320C32 DSP와 CPLD를 이용한 IED prototype을 구현하여 실험을 통해 성능을 확인하였다.

  • This paper proposed a platform which includes both Network processor and DSP for flexible IED. The Network processor is one of the Intel's IXP4XX Product Line family and the DSP is one of the TI's C6000 family. An embedded Linux is ported in Network processor so that a DSP program can be downloaded to Network processor through ethernet and then downloaded to DSP. Using this method, various algorithms according to IED can be applied to the Network processor board. Maximum ten ADCs can be connected because there is a CPLD between DSP and ADC. That is, the network processor board which can measure maximum 40 channels is implemented. In DSP program, thread and double buffering methods are used not to miss voltage samples. The Network processor board is verified using a method that eight channel voltage signals converted to digital are transmitted to server through both DSP and IXP425.

  • This paper proposes a software design and hardware implementation of Intelligent Electronic Device(IED) for power transformer. The relaying algorithm is based on DFT. The protection functions implemented include RDR with a second harmonic restraint for magnetizing inrush, OCR, OCGR, OVR, and UVR etc. The main board of IED is based on the TMS32C32 Processor. The IED was tested with relaying signals obtained for EMTP simulation package.

  • IEC 61850은 변전소자동화시스템에 대한 국제 표준 규격이다. IEC 61850 파트 6은 통신관련 IED(Intelligent Electronic Device) 구성과 IED 파라미터, 통신 시스템 구성, 개폐소 구조 및 이들 간의 관계를 설명하는 파일 형식을 규정한다. 이 파일 형식의 주요 목적은 IED 능력 설명, 호환되는 방법으로 여러 제조사들의 IED 엔지니어링 도구와 시스템 엔지니어링 도구 간의 SA 시스템 설명을 교환하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 XML을 이용한 IED Configurator TOOl 구현을 제시하였다.

  • Lately, the Intelligent Electronic Device(ED) and the Power System Automation make subjects of discussions and studies. The IED uses microprocessors to practice a lot of functions. In the analog time, an equipment practices only one or two functions. But according to the development of microprocessor and digital technology, it can be implemented by using those kinds of state of the art technology and its function is become more and more powerful. Also, the proliferation of IED makes possible to construct power system automation. An automation of power system make more convenient, safe, and accurate power system. In this paper, a digital protective relay which is a kind of IED and the power automation system are briefly discussed with development and application cases.

  • This paper proposes a prototype IED hardware design and it's real-time experimental results. To evaluate performance of the IED, the study is well constructed power system model including power transformer utilizing the EMTP software and the testing is made through simulation of various cases. The relaying that is well constructed using DSP chip and RISC CPU etc. has been developed and the prototype IED has been verified through on-line testing by LabVIEW simulator. The results show that an advanced relaying based prototype IED never mis-operated.

  • This paper proposes a hardware of IED for power transformer protection that is well constructed using DSP chip and MPU chip. The performance of the adaptive relaying algorithm, by real-time testing in a prototype of it, has been verified. And test results indicate the proposed relaying of the IED was proven to be faster and more reliable.
