Suggestion of PV Module Test Methods Based on Weathering Monitoring (기후데이터 분석을 통한 태양광모듈의 내구성 평가 기준 제안)

  • The photovoltaic (PV) system consists of solar cells, solar modules, inverters and peripherals. The related evaluation and certification are proceeding as standards published by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) TC (Technical Committee) 82. In particular, PV module is a component that requires stable durability over 20 years, and evaluation in various external environments is very important. Currently, IEC 61215-based standards are being tested, but temperature, humidity, wind and solar radiation conditions are not considered in all areas. For this reason, various types of defects may occur depending on the installation area of the same photovoltaic module. In particular, the domestic climate (South Korea) is moderate. The various test methods proposed by IEC 61215 are appropriate, excessive, or insufficient, depending on environmental condition. In this paper, we analyze the climate data collection for one year to understand the vulnerability of this test method of PV modules. Through this, we propose a test method for PV module suitable for domestic climatic conditions and also propose a technical consideration for installation and design of PV system.

  • In this paper, some international standards such as IEC of hight efficient motors are analyzed to apply for the estimation of energy saving and $CO_2$ reduction. These international standards are correspond to Korean Standard (KS), especially KSC4202, KSC4203, KSC4204, KSCIEC60034-2, KSCIEC61972.

  • This paper introduces nine acceptance sampling plans by attribute based on screening (sorting, rectifying). Revised KS standards for single and double acceptance sampling by attribute such as Dodge - Romig : 1998, KSA ISO 2859 - 2 : 2001, 13448 - 1, 2, MIL - STD - 105E : 1989, KSA IEC 60410 and ANSI/ASQ Z1. 4 : 2003 are presented.

The Relationship between Industrial Standards Acquisition and the Technological Development of Korean Enterprises (우리나라 기업의 산업표준 획득과 기술개발과의 관계)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify in two aspects the relationship between standardization activities and technological development at the firm level. The first aspect is to analyze the relationship between the current Korean industrial standards system and the firm's technological development vis-a-vis quality standards. The analysis reveals that even if Korean firms recognize the importance of standards, the level of product quality of the KS mark is still lower compared to the average world level. The survey also reveals that the reasons for acquiring ISO and KS marks are mainly aimed at enforcing company image and increasing quality management mind, rather than to foster technological innovation. The second aspect explores how much Korean industrial standards (KS marks) affect the firm's technological development in the Process of standards acquisition activities. The survey results show that standardization activities have a less positive impact on technological innovation than on the maintenance of consistent production works.

Standardization of Critical Temperature Measurement based on IEC International Standard

  • For disseminating a ney IEC international standard of critical trmperature of NbTi,Nb$_3$Sn and Bi-2223 Composite Suterconductors, we develpted a measuring system and studied standardization of test method. The measuring system consisted of cryogenic reservoir, base plate, thermometer, voltmeter and current source. Various specimens of the Nbti, Nb$_3$Sn and Bi-2223 composite superconductors were tested using this system for measuring their critical temperatures. After measuring the resistance-temperature relation, the data were compensated with thermoelectric voltages for NbTi Nb$_3$Sn specimens. NbTi specimens showed 9.2 K ~ 9.5 K of transition temperature and Nb$_3$Sn specimen showed about 18 K. Bi-2223 specimens showed 104 K ~ 107 K of transition temperature.

  • Recent advances in computer technology have brought more dependence on software to railway systems. Hence, the safety assurance of the vital software running on the railway system is very critical task and yet, not many works have been done. While much efforts have been reported to improve electronic hardware's safety, not so much systematic approaches to evaluate software's safety. In this paper, we suggested an automated analysis tool for S/W change impact in railway system, and presented its result of implementation. The analysis items in the implemented tool had referred to the international standards in relation to the software for railway system, such as IEC 61508 and IEC 62279. In these international standards, 'change impact analysis' for railway system S/W has to be required mandatorily. The proposed tool can be utilized at the assessment stage and also the software development stage.

  • In today's R&D environment, as the complexity of IT systems increases and the expected quality level for R&D outcomes enlarges, it has been critical issues for us to effectively define and improve the R&D standard processes tailored for our organization and projects. To meet this needs, we defined the R&D standard processes based on the international standards for systems and software engineering and our existing traditional work methods, and then applied them of our ongoing projects. Now, we are improving our defined R&D standard processes continuously by monitoring of the processes and products and through the feedback of the application results. In this paper, we introduce the R&D standard process model developed by our organization (E research Institute in Korea) and the requirements and approaches used for their development and improvement. We compare our defined R&D standard processes with ISO/IEC 15288 which is the international standards for systems engineering and summarize the lessons learned through their development and improvement.

A Study on the Installation Method of Down Conductors of the Lightning Protection System, using Rebar in Reinforced Concrete Structures (철근콘크리트 구조물 내의 철근을 활용한 피뢰설비 인하도선의 설치방법에 관한 연구)

  • IEC Standards on lightning protection system specify the use of natural components as down conductors. This paper provides an analysis of problems revealed from our field investigation and survey conducted for the relevant experts in the construction site where natural components are used as down conductors. It also considers a suitable condition for installing natural components as down conductors in accordance with the latest version of the standard. As a result, when rebars of reinforced concrete are used as down conductors, vertical bars consisting of rebars of which thickness is not less than D13($127mm^2$) should be connected by welding, clamps or bound joints, using appropriate connection components conforming to IEC Standards. The lashed joints, however, shall not be applied for down conductors.

  • Viscosity measurement standards were evaluated according to ISO/IEC 17025. The step-up procedure was employed to calibrate a series of capillary type master viscometers. Uncertainty was calculated with evaluation of various uncertainty factors affected in viscosity measurement. The maximum expanded uncertainty(U) of the master viscometer was $3.0{\times}10^{-3}$(at the confidence level of 95 %). This evaluation example will be useful in viscosity measurement uncertainty determination of other standard measurement.
