  • 1) In the study of the forced-swimming test in mice (FSM), the duration of immobility posture was dose-dependently shortened by ${\alpha}_2$-agonists, clonidine and guanabenz. BH-T 933 and oxymetazoline also decreased it . Xylazine rather increased the immobility duration at low dose. 2) ${\alpha}_1$-Agonists, cirazoline, amidephrine and methoxamine, however, showed inconsistent effect on the immobility duration (ID). 3) The decrease in ID by clonidine and guanabenz was antagonized by pretreatment with yohimbine, idazoxan and phentolamine (${\alpha}_2$antagonist), but not by prazosin and corynanthine (${\alpha}_1$-antagonist) .4) The ID in the FSM was shortened dose-dependently by d-amphetamine, and it was also antagonized by yohimbine, but not by prazosin. 5) In the mice pretreated with either ${\alpha}$-methyl-p-tyrosine or reserpine, or with combination of both, the decrease in ID was still evoked by clonidine. 6) When the mice were chronically treated with antidepressants (desipramine and imipramine), or with electroconvulsive shock, clonidine still decreased the ID as it did in the control. 7) These results provided the evidences to hypothesize that the change of the ID in the FSM is closely related with the postsynaptie ${\alpha}_2$-adrenoceptor located on the central noradrenergic neuron body. Furthermore, it is assumed that this escape-directed behavior enhanced by ${\alpha}_2$-adrenoceptor agonist may be the result in some analogy with the incentive of drives which are directed toward the self-preservation.

  • The spatial characteristics of changes in extreme temperature indices for 2070-2099 relative to 1971-2000 in the Republic of Korea were investigated using daily maximum (Tmax) and minimum (Tmin) temperature data from a regional climate model (HadGEM3-RA) based on the IPCC RCP4.5/8.5 at 12.5km grid spacing and observations. Six temperature-based indices were selected to consider the frequency and intensity of extreme temperature events. For validation during the reference period (1971-2000), the simulated Tmax and Tmin distributions reasonably reproduce annual and seasonal characteristics not only for the relative probability but also the variation range. In the future (2070-2099), the occurrence of summer days (SD) and tropical nights (TR) is projected to be more frequent in the entire region while the occurrence of ice days (ID) and frost days (FD) is likely to decrease. The increase of averaged Tmax above 95th percentile (TX95) and Tmin below 5th percentile (TN5) is also projected. These changes are more pronounced under RCP8.5 scenario than RCP4.5. The changes in extreme temperature indices except for FD show significant correlations with altitude, and the changes in ID, TR, and TN5 also show significant correlations with latitude. The mountainous regions are projected to be more influenced by an increase of low extreme temperature than low altitude while the southern coast is likely to be more influenced by an increase of tropical nights.

  • This paper proposes a session key distribution scheme on non-interactive key distribution algorithm of Identity-based cryptography in V2I of VANET. In the current VANET, IEEE 802.11i is used to provide secure data communication between the vehicle and infrastructure. However, since the 4-way handshake procedure reply when the vehicle handover to another RSU/AP, IEEE 802.11i increases the communication overhead and latency. The proposed scheme using non-interactive key distribution algorithm of Identity-based cryptography provided session key generation and exchange without message exchange and reduced communication overhead and latency than the IEEE 802.11i.

  • This paper presents a self-powered sensor-node scheme using a RF wireless power harvesting techniques for improve drone time of flight. Sensor-node that is proposed is turned when two conditions satisfy: The one is input RF ID data from master-node should be same with sensor-node's ID, and the other one is RF wireless power harvesting system is turned on by hysteresis switch. In this paper, master-node's output is 26 dBm at 263 MHz. Maximum RF to DC power conversion efficiency is about 55% at 4-6 dBm input power condition (2 meter from master-node). The maximum RF wireless power harvesting range is about 13 meter form master-node. And power consumption of the sensor-node's load elements such as transmitter, MCU and temperature sensors is approximately average 15 mA at 5.0 V for 10 msec.

  • In this paper, we present an identificable face (n face) detection method robust to color degradation and partial veiling. This method is composed of three parts: segmentation of face candidate regions, extraction of face candidate windows, and decision of veiling. In the segmentation of face candidate regions, face candidate regions are detected by finding skin color regions and facial components such as eyes, a nose and a mouth, which may have degraded colors, from an input image. In the extraction of face candidate windows, face candidate windows which have high potentials of faces are extracted in face candidate regions. In the decision of veiling, using an eigenface method, a face candidate window whose similarity with eigenfaces is maximum is determined and whether facial components of the face candidate window are veiled or not is determined in the similar way. Experimental results show that the proposed method yields better the detection rate by about $11.4\%$ in test DB containing color-degraded faces and veiled ones than a conventional method without considering color degradation and partial veiling.

  • In this paper, the RUNCODE encoder hardware IP was designed and implemented for symbol ID code length encoding, which is one of major modules of JBIG2 encoder for FAX. ImpulseC Codeveloper and Xilinx ISE/EDK program are used for the hardware generation and synthesis of VHDL code. The synthesized hardware was downloaded to Virtex-4 FX60 FPGA on ML410 development board. The synthesized hardware utilizes 13% of total slice of FPGA. Using Active-HDL tool, the hardware was verified showing normal operation. Compared with the software operating using Microblaze cpu on ML410 board, the synthesized hardware was better in operation time. The improvement ratio of operation time between the synthesized hardware and software showed about 40 times faster than software only operation. The synthesized H/W and S/W module cooperated to succeed in compressing the CCITT standard document.

  • This study was analyzed about the relationship between culture microenvironment and cell differentiation of HPV 16 E6/E7-transfected immortalized oral keratinocyte(IHOK). By the alteration of culture environment, IHOK-EF and IHOK-EFKGM were obtained, and the modulation of cell properties was observed by cell proliferation assay, immunofluorescence, microarray, and quantitative real-time PCR analysis. IHOK-EF losed the properties of epithelial cells and obtained the properties of mesenchymal cells, and in the result of microarray analysis, genes related to the inhibition of differentiation such as IL6, TWIST1, and ID2 were highly expressed in IHOK-EF. When the culture environment was recovered to initial environment, these changes were recovered partially, presenting the return of genes involved in the inhibition of differentiation such as IL6, and ID2, particularly. This study will contribute to understand adjustment aspect for cell surviving according to the change of culture microenvironment in the study for determining the cell characteristic, and facilitate therapeutic approach for human disease by applying surviving study according to the change of cancer microenvironment.

  • Due to the view point, illumination, personal gait and other background situation, person re-identification across cameras has been a challenging task in video surveillance area. In order to address the problem, a novel method called Joint Bayesian across different cameras for person re-identification (JBR) is proposed. Motivated by the superior measurement ability of Joint Bayesian, a set of Joint Bayesian matrices is obtained by learning with different camera pairs. With the global Joint Bayesian matrix, the proposed method combines the characteristics of multi-camera shooting and person re-identification. Then this method can improve the calculation precision of the similarity between two individuals by learning the transition between two cameras. For investigating the proposed method, it is implemented on two compare large-scale re-ID datasets, the Market-1501 and DukeMTMC-reID. The RANK-1 accuracy significantly increases about 3% and 4%, and the maximum a posterior (MAP) improves about 1% and 4%, respectively.
