As a part of abating formaldehyde emission of urea-formaldehyde (UF) resin adhesive, this study was conducted to investigate chemical structures of UF resin adhesives with different formaldehyde/urea (F/U) mole ratios, using carbon-13 nuclear magnetic resonance ($^{13}C$-NMR) spectroscopy. UF resin adhesives were synthesized at four different F/U mole ratios such as 1.6, 1.4, 1.2, and 1.0 for the analysis. The analysis $^{13}C$-NMR spectroscopy showed that UF resin adhesives with higher F/U mole ratios (i.e., 1.6 and 1.4) had two distinctive peaks, indicating the presence of dimethylene ether linkages and methylene glycols, a dissolved form of free formaldehyde. But, these peaks were not detected at the UF resins with lower F/U mole ratios (i.e., 1.2 and 1.0). These chemical structures present at the UF resins with higher F/U mole ratios indicated that UF resin adhesive with higher F/U mole ratio had a greater contribution to the formaldehyde emission than that of lower F/U mole ratio. Uronic species were detected for all UF resins regardless of F/U mole ratios.
TTo increase productivity of a strong extracellular alkaline protease (BCAP), stable strains of Bacillus clausii I-52 carrying another copy of BCAP gene in the chromosome were developed. Integrative vector, pHPS9-fuBCAP carrying BCAP promoter, ribosome binding site, signal sequence and active protease gene was constructed and transferred into B. clausii I-52, and integration of the constructed plasmid into chromosome was identified by PCR. An investigation was carried out on BCAP production by B. clausii I-52 and transformant C5 showing the highest relative activity of alkaline protease using submerged fermentation. Maximum enzyme activity was produced when cells were grown under the submerged fermentation conditions at $37^{\circ}C$ for 48 h with an aeration rate of 1 vvm and agitation rate of 650 rpm in a optimized medium (soybean meal 2%, wheat flour 1%, sodium citrate 0.5%, $K_2HPO_4$ 0.4%, $Na_2HPO_4$ 0.1%, NaCl 0.4%, $MgSO_47H_2O$ 0.01%, $FeSO_47H_2O$ 0.05%, liquid maltose 2.5%, $Na_2CO_3$ 0.6%). A protease yield of approximately 134,670U/ml was achieved using an optimized media, which show an increase of approximately 1.6-fold compared to that of non-transformant (83,960 U/ml). When the stability of transformant C5 was examined, the integrated plasmid pHPS9-fuBCAP was detected in the transformant after cultivation for 8 days, suggesting that it maintained stably in the chromosomal DNA of transformant C5.
The objectives of this study have been conducted to establish effective clinical teaching program to I.C.U in terms of proper assignment of the clients for the students, proper rotation schedule, priorities in critical nursing problems and selection of the teaching and learning. We have analyzed statistically 1,850 patients who have been admitted during a period from January 1977 to October 31 1979 in Ewha Woman's University Hospital. The results are as follows: 1. The proportion to the total inpatients number was 6.5% and mortality rate was 16.3%. 2. The average hospitalized days were 5.8 days in I.C.U and the total death was occured from 1 st hospital day to 5th hospital day. So it shows a certain difficulties for clinical experiences of the senior students in I.C.U. 3. In the age of the death, 41.3% of the patients were in the 41-60 year age group. It shows highest mortality rate in socially active and productive age groups. 4. The mortality rates of the departments of the medicine was 18.7%, general surgery 18.5%, and neurosurgery 14.7%. 5. The number of patients admitted to the department of neurosystem was 30.6%, cardiovascular system 22.6%, respiratory system 11.1 % and urinary system 2.9%. 6. On utilizing instruments and machine for diagnosis and client's assessment in I.C.U, they have utilized everything a usual. But they never utilize angiogram and cardiac catheterization in cardiovascular system, and retroperitoneal pneumography in the urologic system. Further more we would recommend as follows 1. In consideration of the average hospital days and the date of death, the rotation program for clincal experience need to be adjusted as continuing practice program in apposite to current alternative practice program for comprehensive nursing care. 2. Socioeconomic needs for the patient's families and himself should be emphasized by the students in addition to physical needs. 3. Course content for critical care might be built up in considering of core disease centered nursing problems. 4. The diagnostic procedures and client's assessment items which could not experience in our university hospital by the students might be considered and refilled as filled trips to another hospital and visual aids.
Arthrobacter chlorophenolicus A6 possesses several monooxygenases (CphC-I, CphC-II, and CphB) that can catalyze the transformation of 4-chlorophenol (4-CP) to hydroxylated intermediates in the initial steps of substrate metabolism. The corresponding genes of the monooxygenases were cloned, and the competent cells were transformed with these recombinant plasmids. Although CphC-II and CphB were expressed as insoluble forms, CphC-I was successfully expressed as a soluble form and isolated by purification. The specific activity of the purified CphC-I was analyzed by using 4-CP, 4-chlorocatechol (4-CC), and catechol (CAT) as substrates. The specific activities for 4-CP, 4-CC, and CAT were determined to be 0.312 U/mg, 0.462 U/mg, 0.246 U/mg, respectively. The results of this study indicated that CphC-I is able to catalyze the degradation of 4-CC and CAT in addition to 4-CP, which is a primary substrate. This research is expected to provide the fundamental information for the development of an eco-friendly biochemical degradation of aromatic hydrocarbons.
Let $n{\geq}2$ be an even integer. We investigate that if an odd mapping f : X ${\rightarrow}$ Y satisfies the following equation $2_{n-2}C_{\frac{n}{2}-1}rf\(\sum\limits^n_{j=1}{\frac{x_j}{r}}\)\;+\;{\sum\limits_{i_k{\in}\{0,1\} \atop {{\sum}^n_{k=1}\;i_k={\frac{n}{2}}}}\;rf\(\sum\limits^n_{i=1}(-1)^{i_k}{\frac{x_i}{r}}\)=2_{n-2}C_{{\frac{n}{2}}-1}\sum\limits^n_{i=1}f(x_i),$ then f : X ${\rightarrow}$ Y is additive, where $r{\in}R$. We also prove the stability in normed group by using shadowing property and the Hyers-Ulam stability of the functional equation in Banach spaces and in Banach modules over unital C-algebras. As an application, we show that every almost linear bijection h : A ${\rightarrow}$ B of unital $C^*$-algebras A and B is a $C^*$-algebra isomorphism when $h(\frac{2^s}{r^s}uy)=h(\frac{2^s}{r^s}u)h(y)$ for all unitaries u ${\in}$ A, all y ${\in}$ A, and s = 0, 1, 2,....

In this paper we analyze the CA formed by combining the uniform 102 CA $\mathbb{C}_u$ and the m-cell 90/150 hybrid CA $\mathbb{C}_h$ whose characteristic polynomial is $(x+1)^m$. We analyze cycle structures of complemented group CA derived from $\mathbb{C}_u$ and propose a condition of complemented CA dividing the entire state space into smaller cycles of equal lengths. And we analyze the cycle structure of complemented group CA $\mathbb{C}^{\prime}$ derived from the CA $\mathbb{C}$ formed by combining $\mathbb{C}_u$ and $\mathbb{C}_h$ with complement vector F such that $(T+I)^{q-1}F{\neq}0$ where $(x+1)^q$ is the minimal polynomial of $\mathbb{C}$.
The electromagnetic properties and microstructures of the basic composition of (N $i_{0.2}$C $u_{0.2}$Z $n_{0.6}$)$_{1.085}$(F $e_2$$O_3$)$_{0.915}$ were invested by changing of the additive Sn $O_2$, CaO amounts and ferrite processes. There is no variation of grain size by changing additive amount. It can reduce the total loss when (N $i_{0.2}$C $u_{0.2}$Z $n_{0.6}$)$_{1.085}$(F $e_2$$O_3$)$_{0.915}$ composition sintered at 1150 $^{\circ}C$ better than 130$0^{\circ}C$. Additive CaO confirmed of useful addition for the reduce total loss, because it increasing sintering density. Decreasing total loss were observed by adding both Sn $O_2$ 0.06 wt% and CaO 0.4 wt%.
We prove the existence and multiplicity of nontrivial solutions for a fourth order problem ${\Delta}^2u+c{\Delta}u={\alpha}u-{\beta}(u+1)^-$ in ${\Omega}$, ${\Delta}u=0$ and $u=0$ on ${\partial}{\Omega}$, where ${\lambda}_1{\leq}c{\leq}{\lambda}_2$ (where $({\lambda}_i)_{i{\geq}1}$ is the sequence of the eigenvalues of $-{\Delta}$ in$H_0^1({\Omega})$) and ${\Omega}$ is a bounded open set in $R^N$ with smooth boundary ${\partial}{\Omega}$. The results are proved by applying minimax arguments and linking theory.
A commutative ring with unity R is called an EM-ring if for any finitely generated ideal I there exist a in R and a finitely generated ideal J with Ann(J) = 0 and I = aJ. In this article it is proved that C(X) is an EM-ring if and only if for each U ∈ Coz (X), and each g ∈ C* (U) there is V ∈ Coz (X) such that U ⊆ V, ${\bar{V}}=X$, and g is continuously extendable on V. Such a space is called an EM-space. It is shown that EM-spaces include a large class of spaces as F-spaces and cozero complemented spaces. It is proved among other results that X is an EM-space if and only if the Stone-Čech compactification of X is.
Present problems of the Korean rare and endangered plant species evaluations are discussed. It is proposed that the evaluation criteria for Korean rare and endangered are urgently needed in the future. The translation of new proposed criteria into Korean should be discussed in order to avoid confusion in the future. The draft of a new criteria system for rare and endangered plant species. prepared by the S. S. C. (Species Survival Commission) of I. U. C. N (International Union of Conservation of Nature) are introduced. The proposed draft for the criteria being developed by the S. S. C. of I. U. C. N. are Extinct, Extinct in the Wild, Critical, Endangered, Vulnerable, Susceptible, Safe /Low Risk, Insufficiently Known, and Not Evaluated. It is expected to take the more time to be technically developed further and also officially recognized by the I. U. C. N. for the practical use in the future.
