Implementation of Web Based Remote Monitoring and Control System (웹에 기반한 원격 감시 및 제어장치의 구현)

  • Recently, lots of research activities have been carried out to provide advanced smart control functions applying a computer networking technology to telemeter/telecontrol systems. In this paper, we suggest client/server architecture with specially designed remote and local control software for applicant those to greenhouse model. The server system collects and integrates various datas related sensor or actuator, and stores in database maintaining high quality of remote I/O control operation. Where as the client system simply operation such as control panel on the internet web browser. Implemented system well communicate interactively both monitoring and control status of greenhouse including multimedia informations. In this study we also analyze the extent of the performance enhancement in terms of overall throughput and data transfer time effected by packet size.

QEMU/KVM Based In-Memory Block Cache Module for Virtualization Environment (가상화 환경을 위한 QEMU/KVM 기반의 인메모리 블록 캐시 모듈 구현)

  • Recently, virtualization has become an essential component of cloud computing due to its various strengths, including maximizing server resource utilization, easy-to-maintain software, and enhanced data protection. However, since virtualization allows sharing physical resources among the VMs, the system performance can be deteriorated due to device contentions. In this paper, we first investigate the I/O overhead based on the number of VMs on the same server platform and analyze the block I/O process of the KVM hypervisor. We also propose an in-memory block cache mechanism, called QBic, to overcome I/O virtualization latency. QBic is capable of monitoring the block I/O process of the hypervisor and stores the data with a high access frequency in the cache. As a result, QBic provides a fast response for VMs and reduces the I/O contention to physical devices. Finally, we present a performance measurement of QBic to verify its effectiveness.

  • An aging Society solitary life old mans are increasing. The nurses have to visit old mans and must confirm their disease, because they do not act well. It is very difficult to take care old man, because the number of Nurses are small. This problem is solved by collection of data about condition of old mans from long distance. Data communication with Ethernet have benefit to collection of measurement of old man's condition. The Data storage system an long distance place are storaged data and after several day data was transmitted to the DB over the Ethernet. For Miniaturization of such system the system must be OS-less Embedded Ethernet Server system. Such system manages the file management system only with H/W. The Storage device is used SD-card. SD Card is small size and operates with small power. By using 512MB sd memory card, it is possible to storage during 5~6 years, 10 byte of temperature value per second. In this paper, we make a Embedded Ethernet Server using W3100A, Atmega128 MCU and data stroage device using SD-Card. This system operates with O/S-less Embedded Ethernet Server. We talk about file System, Storage and Ethernet. We explained about MCU Atmega128, Interface between LAN LSIand W3100A, Interface between W3100A and Phyceiver RTL8201, data I/O between MCU and SD-Card and File System. We shows the experiment device and result of monitoring.

A Case Study of Business Process Centered Risk Analysis for Information Technology Security (업무 프로세스 중심의 정보기술 보안 위험분석 적용 사례-클라이언트/서버 시스템 중심으로)

  • Due to the increasing complexity of the information systems environment, modern information systems are facing more difficult and various security risks than ever, there by calling for a higher level of security safeguard. In this paper, an information technology security risk management model, which modified by adopting the concept of business processes, is applied to client/server distributed systems. The results demonstrate a high level of risk-detecting performance of the model, by detecting various kinds of security risks. In addition, a practical and efficient security control safeguard to cope with the identified security risks are suggested. Namely, using the proposed model, the risks on the assets in both of the I/O stage(on client side) and the request/processing stage(on server side), which can cause serious problems on business processes, are identified and the levels of the risks are analyzed. The analysis results show that maintenance of management and access control to application systems are critical in the I/O stage, while managerial security activities including training are critical in the request/processing stage.

Loan/Redemption Scheme for I/O performance improvement of Virtual Machine Scheduler (가상머신 스케줄러의 I/O 성능 향상을 위한 대출/상환 기법)

  • Virtualized hardware resources provides efficiency in use and easy of management. Based on the benefits, virtualization techniques are used to build large server clusters and cloud systems. The performance of a virtualized system is significantly affected by the virtual machine scheduler. However, the existing virtual machine scheduler have a problem in that the I/O response is reduced in accordance with the scheduling delay becomes longer. In this paper, we introduce the Loan/Redemption mechanism of a virtual machine scheduler in order to improve the responsiveness to I/O events. The proposed scheme gives additional credits for to virtual machines and classifies the task characteristics of each virtual machine by analyzing the credit consumption pattern. When an I/O event arrives, the scheduling priority of a virtual machine is temporally increased based on the analysis. The evaluation based on the implementation shows that the proposed scheme improves the I/O response 60% and bandwidth of virtual machines 62% compared to those of the existing virtual machine scheduler.

  • As using of network increases rapidly, performance of system has been deteriorating because of the overhead and bottleneck. Nowadays, High speed I/O network standard, that is a sort of PCI Express, HyperTransport, InfiniBand, and so on, has come out to improve the limites of traditional I/O bus. The InfiniBand Architecture(IBA) provides some protocols to service the applications such as SDP, SRP and IPoIB. In our paper, We explain the architecture of IPoIB (IP over InfiniBand) and its features in channel based I/O network. And so we provide a performance evaluation result of IPoIB which is compared with current network protocol. Our experimental results also show that IPoIB is batter than TCP/IP protocol. For this test, We use the dual processor server systems and Linux Redhat 9.0 operating system.

  • 최근 콘텐츠 전송 네트워크(content delivery network, CDN)와 클라우드 컴퓨팅(cloud computing)을 결합하여 효과적으로 콘텐츠를 전달하기 위한 방법이 대두되고 있으며 이와 같이 클라우드 컴퓨팅과 결합하여 서비스되는 CDN을 클라우드 CDN 이라고 칭한다. 본 논문에서는 클라우드 CDN 환경에서의 효과적인 가상 머신 (virtual machine, VM) 관리를 위한 캐시서버(caching server)로써의 VM의 네트워크 I/O 성능 분석을 다룬다. 해당 성능 분석은 엔드 유저(end-user)들과 캐시서버 간 동영상 스트리밍(streaming)을 통하여 이루어졌으며 해당 캐시 서버의 네트워크 I/O 성능에 영향을 주는 다양한 경우에 대하여 진행되었다. 본 논문에서의 성능 분석은 클라우드 CDN 환경에서의 데이터센터(datacenter) 선택 및 요청 라우팅(routing) 등에 적용될 수 있다.

pNFS Metadata Server Design based on FUSE (FUSE 활용 pNFS 지원 메타데이터 서버 설계)

  • 네트워크 환경에서 가장 범용적으로 사용되는 파일시스템인 NFS는 클라이언트 수가 증가할수록 I/O 병목 현상이 심각하게 발생한다. 이를 해결하기 위해 클라이언트가 직접 데이터 서버에 연결하여 I/O 처리를 병렬화한 NFS 버전s 4.1 표준이 제정되었다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 pNFS를 지원하는 메타데이터 서버를 사용자 영역에서 손쉽게 개발할 수 있도록 FUSE를 활용하는 방안을 제안한다.

  • 컴퓨터 하드웨어 기술의 발달은 물론 고속 통신 기술의 발달로 컴퓨터의 사용분야가 단순 계산에서 멀티미디어를 사용하는 VOD 서버 기술을 필요로 하게 되고 경제적이면 효율적으로 멀티미디어 데이터를 다루는 기술이 요구되면서 서버의 확장성과 원활한 데이터 서비스가 필요하게 되었다. 이에 본 논문에서는 초고속 통신망에 기반한 SAN(System Area Network)에 기반한 클러스터링 시스템을 제안하여 최대한 대역폭을 이용한 병렬 I/O를 통하여 SAN 상에 입출력 성능의 개선할 수 있는 Scalable VOD 서버를 제안하여 구현 성능 평가 하혀 한다.

  • In this paper, we proposed the micro web-server Implementation on Strong ARM processor with embedded Linux. The parallel port connecting parallel I/O is controlled via HPPT protocol and web browser program. HTTP protocol is ported into Linux and the micro web server program and port control program are installed on-board memory using CGI to be accessed by web browser, such as Internet Explore and Netscape. 8bit LED and DIP switches are connected to the processor port and the switch input status is monitored and the LED output is controlled from remote hosts vie internet. The result of the proposed embedded micro-web server can be used in automation systems, remote distributed control via internet using web browser.
