[ $FeCr_2Se_4$ ] prepared under the high pressure (3 GPa) has been studied with x-ray, neutron diffraction techniques, superconducting quantum interference device (SQUID) magnetometer, resistance, and Mossbauer spectroscopy. The temperature dependence of resistance is explained by Mott-VRH and small polaron model for the regions I (T<20 K) and II (T>42 K), respectively. Neutron diffraction results show an antiferromagnetic spin-lattice coupling near the Neel temperature. So finally the distance of atom is enlarged in region (110$FeCr_2Se_4$ shows convex type of temperature dependence.

Although turmeric has numerous pharmacological effects, the poor water-solubility of curcuminoids, active components of turmeric, restricts their systemic availability in orally administered formulations and limits their therapeutic potential. In this study we attempted turmeric fermentation using several probiotic bacteria to improve its solubility, and also investigated the effects of turmeric and fermented turmeric on anti-inflammatory activity. Fermented turmeric, by L. johnsonii IDCC 9203, more strongly inhibited LPS-induced expression of the pro-inflammatory cytokines than non-fermented turmeric and fermented turmeric by other probiotic strains. We used an NC/Nga mouse model for mite antigen-induced atopic dermatitis to examine the efficacy of the fermented turmeric. Fermented turmeric-fed mice exhibited a significantly reduced serum IgE level and mitigated acute inflammation. When the fermented turmeric was pre-treated by oral administration, it had more preventive activity against acute anaphylactic reaction than the non-fermented group. In addition, we observed that fermentation of turmeric leads to increased water-solubility of curcumin and a change in the active components ratios for bisdemethoxycurcumin, demethoxycrucumin and curcumin. Taken together, these results strongly suggest that fermented turmeric by L. johnsonii IDCC 9203 could be used as a functional food ingredient for improving treatments for atopic dermatitis.
Purpose: Ulcerative colitis is a common inflammatory bowel disease. Prolonged colitis can be a risk factor for the development of colorectal cancer. Mulberry twig (MT, Sangzhi), a dry branch of Morus alba L., which is widely distributed throughout East Asia, has been shown to have anti-inflammatory activities in the cells. However, the effects of MT extracts on colitis in in vivo are limited. Therefore, in this study, we investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of MT extracts in the dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced mouse colitis model. Methods: Six week-old, male ICR mice were divided into 3 groups: Control (n = 5), DSS (n = 7), and DSS+MT (n = 7) groups. Mice in the DSS and DSS+MT groups were administrated 3% DSS in drinking water for 5 days to induce colitis. At the same time, water extracts of MT (5 g/kg body weight/day) were orally administered to mice in the DSS+MT groups for 5 days. Results: The MT extracts significantly reduced the clinical and pathological characteristics of colitis. Disease activity index, mucosal thickness, and colonocyte proliferation were significantly reduced in the DSS+MT group compared with the DSS group. Furthermore, MT administration reduced the levels of plasma $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-6, and the colonic myeloperoxidase activity as well as mRNA expression of $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-6, Cox-2, and iNOS. Conclusion: Taken together, these results suggest that MT water extracts have potent anti-colitis activities in the mouse colitis model.
Possible changes in the role of insulin-sensitive cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase(PDE) in mediating the antilipolytic action of insulin were investigated in adipocytes from streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Isolated adipocytes prepared from epididymal adipose tissue were incubated, with or without insulin, at $37^{\circ}C$ for 15 min following pretreatment with various drugs or toxins, and three (plasma membranes, microsomal membranes, and cytosol) fractions prepared by differential centrifugation were then assayed for cAMP phosphodiesterase activity. The PDE activities only in the crude microsomal (P2) fractions were activated by insulin both in diabetic and control rats. The basal PDE activities in P2 fractions of adipocytes from diabetic rats were higher than those from control rats, although the maximal effects observed at 2 nM of insulin, $100\;{\mu}M$ of isoproterenol or the combination of both were not significantly different from each other. The insulin-stimulated PDE activities in P2 fractions of adipocytes from diabetic rats were not changed by PIA, a $A_{1}$ adenosine receptor agonist, whereas they were decreased to the basal PDE activities in those from control rats. In addition, the adipocytes from diabetic rats showed an increased sensitivity to pertussis toxin compared to those from controls. There were no differences between diabetic and control rats in the sensitivity of adipocytes to cholera toxin. These data indicate that the impaired signalling through inhibitory receptors such as adenosine receptors in adipocytes from streptozotocin-induced diabetes relates to the loss or the decreased function of $G_i$ proteins, and leads to the increased activity of the insulin-dependent PDE at the basal states.

Retardation effect of heavy metals in soils caused by adsorption onto the surfaces of solids particles is well known phenomenon. In this study, we investigated the retardation effect on the mobility of a Zn in a sandy soil by conducting batch and column tests. The column test consisted of monitoring the concentrations of effluent versus time known as a breakthrough curve (BTC). We used NaCl and ZnCl$_2$ solutions with the concentration of 10 g/L as a tracer, and injected them respectively into the inlet boundary of the soil sample as a square pulse type, and monitored the effluent concentrations at the exit boundary under a steady state condition using an EC-meter and ICP-AES. The batch test was conducted based on the standard procedure of equilibrating fine fractions collected from the soil with various initial ZnCl$_2$ concentrations, and analysis of Zn ions in the equilibrated solutions using ICP-AES. The results of column test showed that i) the peak concentration of ZnCl$_2$analyzed by ICP was far less than that of either NaCl or bulk electrical conductivity and ⅱ) travel times of peak concentrations for two tracers were more less identical. The relatively low concentration of Zn can be explained by ion exchange between Zn and other cations, and possible precipitation of Zn in the form of Zn(OH)$_2$due to high pH range (7.0∼7.9) of the effluent. The identical result of travel times of peak concentrations indicates that the retardation effect is not present in the soil. The only way to describe the prominent decrease of Zn ion was to introduce decay or sink coefficient in the CDE model to account for irreversible decrease of Zn ions in the aqueous phase.

In clinical data minig, choosing the optimal subset of features is such important, not only to reduce the computational complexity but also to improve the usefulness of the model constructed from the given data. Moreover the threshold values (i.e., cut-off points) of selected features are used in a clinical decision criteria of experts for differential diagnosis of diseases. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy discretization approach, which is evaluated by measuring the degree of separation of redundant attribute values in overlapping region, based on spatial distribution of data with continuous attributes. The weighted average of the redundant attribute values is then used to determine the threshold value for each feature and rough set theory is utilized to select a subset of relevant features from the overall features. To verify the validity of the proposed method, we compared experimental results, which applied to classification problem using 668 patients with a chief complaint of dyspnea, based on three discretization methods (i.e., equal-width, equal-frequency, and entropy-based) and proposed discretization method. From the experimental results, we confirm that the discretization methods with fuzzy partition give better results in two evaluation measures, average classification accuracy and G-mean, than those with hard partition.
In the national greenhouse gas inventory, a settlements category has never been included owing to the lack of activity data. Therefore, this study was conducted to obtain basic data for estimating biomass carbon storage in settlements. Nondestructive stem analysis with a laser dendrometer was performed on four major street tree species (Metasequoia glyptostroboides, Prunus armeniaca, Ginkgo biloba, and Acer buergerianum) in Wonju city, South Korea. Allometric equations of the aboveground volume were developed using five models, and allometric equations of crown area were developed with diameter at breast height (DBH) as an independent variable. The best performing allometric equations were aD2+bD+c for M.glyptostroboides and G. biloba, aD+bD2 for P. armeniaca, and a+bD2 for A. buergerianum. Regarding the allometric equations of crown area with DBH as an independent variable, G. biloba and A. buergerianum exhibited low coefficients of determination (R2), i.e., < 0.364, whereas M. glyptostroboides and P. armeniaca exhibited satisfactory R2 values, i.e., > 0.767, probably due to different street tree management practices. The allometricequations in this study will support the carbon inventory of settlements and urban tree monitoring in management practices.

As most G-20 countries expect medical spending to grow rapidly over the next few decades, the burden of healthcare costs continues to grow globally due to an increase in the elderly population and chronic illnesses, and the ongoing quality improvement of health care services. However, under the rapidly changing technological environment of healthcare and IT convergence, the problem may become even bigger if not properly recognized and not properly prepared. In the context of the paradigm shift and the increasing problem of the medical field, complex responses in technical, institutional and business aspects are urgently needed. The key is to derive a business model that is appropriate for businesses that integrate IT in the medical field. With the arrival of the era of the 4th industrial revolution, new technologies such as Internet of Things have been applied to eHealthcare, and the need for new business models has emerged. In the e-healthcare of the Internet era, it became a traditional firm-based business model. However, due to the characteristics of dynamics and complexity of things Internet in the Internet of things, A business ecosystem-based approach is needed. In this paper, we present and analyze the major success factors of the ecosystem based on the 3 - layer structure of the e - healthcare business ecosystem as a result of research on e - healthcare business ecosystem based on emerging technology such as Internet of things. The three-layer business ecosystem was defined as (1) Infrastructure Layer, (2) Character Layer, and (3) Stakeholder Layer. As the key success factors for the eHealthCare business ecosystem, the following four factors are suggested: (1) introduction of the iHealthcare concept, (2) expansion of the business ecosystem, (3) business ecosystem change process innovation, and (4) business ecosystem leadership innovation.
Although it is uncertain that the cause of changed pattern of the natural disaster related to water (i.e. flood and drought) is due to excessive carbon dioxide yielded from economic activity or the increased number of sunspots, it is apparent that there have been unusual climate change that directly affects the water resource management. Due to such a frequent unusual weather activities, there have been increased natural disaster and the most direct and major reason is considered as climate change. As we see, the climate change necessarily causes social costs. Especially, the effects on the water resource due to flood and drought take the considerable part of such costs. Therefore, this study is basic work to develop a new economic analysis technique to be used in pursuing appropriate adaptation project in field of the amount of cost damage through analysis of the effects of the climate change on the water resource. The models appeared in many reports for cost assessment of climate change were various (e.g., PAGE, DICE, AIM, IMAGE, MERGE, and etc.) and this report summarizes general characteristics of each model. To assess the effects of climate change of the water management, we defined the field of the water management on climate change. The results help post-study in field of the climate change's social-economic effect assessment, can be employed for the prioritizing process of the national fund's investment.
In this study, we analyzed the effects of trees planted in urban areas on PM2.5 reduction using a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model. For realistic numerical simulations, the meteorological components(e.g., wind velocity components and air temperatures) predicted by the local data assimilation and prediction system (LDAPS), an operational model of the Korea Meteorological Administration, were used as the initial and boundary conditions of the CFD model. The CFD model was validated against, the PM2.5 concentrations measured by the sensor networks. To investigate the effects of trees on the PM2.5 reduction, we conducted the numerical simulations for three configurations of the buildings and trees: i) no tree (NT), ii) trees with only drag effect (TD), and iii) trees with the drag and dry-deposition effects (DD). The results showed that the trees in the target area significantly reduced the PM2.5 concentrations via the dry-deposition process. The PM2.5 concentration averaged over the domain in DD was reduced by 5.7 ㎍ m-3 compared to that in TD.
