길거리 음식에 대한 중${\cdot}$${\cdot}$대학생의 섭취 및 위생상태 인식과 미생물 분석 (A Study on Students' Intake of Street Foods and Their Perception toward Hygiene Status of Street Foods and Microbiological Analysis)

  • We investigated the intake trends of street foods for middle school, high school and colleges students through the survey study. In addition, the factors affecting the students' consumption of street foods and their perception toward hygiene status of street vendor were studied. The levels of total aerobic bacteria, coliform groups and enterobacteriaceae in Kimbab, eomuk, and eomuk-kukmul were counted using 3M petrifilms. More than ninety seven % of the respondents had experienced street foods. All the respondents ate street foods 1 to 5 times a month. Forty percent of the respondent stated that 'good taste' and 'time-saving convenience' were their reason for eating the street foods. Their favorite foods were ddokbokgi and various fried foods. All the students responded that frying oil, drinking water, and soy sauce as well as the street vendors' attire and their cooking tools in street vendor were unsanitary. Forty percent of the respondents ranked frying oil as the most unsanitary substance. Eighty percent of the respondents responded that an enforcement of hygiene should be imposed on the street foods vendor. There were significant differences (p<0.001) among the student's age in the opinion related to the reasons of eating street foods, hygiene enforcement, existence of street foods and interest of hygiene status of street foods. High correlation (p<0.05) between the frequency of street foods and snack intakes was shown, regardless of student's age. The result shows that those who eat snacks more than once a day tend to eat street foods more frequently. Aerobic plate counts in Kimbab in 5 different vendors exceeded 10$^5$/g and contamination levels of enterobacteriaceae or coliform in Kimbab exceeded more than 10$^3$/g, which did not satisfy the microbiological standards. In conclusion, although the respondents thought that the sanitation of street foods was poor, most of them want the street food vendor to be maintained with better hygiene condition. This indicated that the regulation for safe street foods should be enforced and educational information about the preparation and serving for safe street foods should be provided to street food vendor.

ISO 국제표준의 비교 연구를 통한 국내 의료기기 GMP 제도의 효과적인 운영 방안 (Comparative Study of ISO Standards for an Effective Implementation of the Domestic Medical Device GMP System)

  • Purpose: It can easily be understood that more rules and regulations need to be imposed on the medical device industry due to its impact on public health and hygiene. Domestic medical device manufacturers are thus required to comply with the requirements specified in the good manufacturing practice (GMP) system, and it is essential to abide by the international standards as well to sustain their global competitiveness. The main purpose of this study is to review the guidelines of the medical device GMP system in Korea and propose future directions for further enhancement of the GMP system. Methods: Specific requirements prescribed in international standards, such as ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, ISO 14971:2012, and ISO 14155:2011, are analyzed and compared with the domestic GMP system. Results: It has been observed that the generic international standard related to quality management system, ISO 9001:2015, lays out the foundations for the development of quality management system relevant to medical device industry, ISO 13485:2003, with which the domestic GMP system is fully compatible. Further, several important aspects of risk management and clinical trials of medical devices are also recognized and included in the domestic medical device GMP system. Conclusion: Even though specific requirements of individual ISO standards are slightly different from each other, their overall structure and framework may contribute to the development and enhancement of globally competitive GMP system of the domestic medical device industry.

해외 주요국가의 의류 원산지 인증제도 연구 (Research on Clothing Origin Certification Systems in Major Overseas Countries)

  • As "Made in Korea" has high branding power in the fashion industry, domestic clothing manufacturers also need to consider branding the country of origin. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to reconsider the need for a domestic certification system and suggest a direction by analyzing apparel origin certification systems operating overseas. The results of this study could be used for planning certification standards and operating methods suitable for regional characteristics and industrial environments when establishing a certification system for clothing produced in Korea. The case study subjects were Japan's J∞ Quality, USA's Made in New York, Italy's 100% Made in Italy, and France's Origin France Guarantee has been classified as certification criteria related to the country of origin include items related to the production process rate in the region and the production area for each production process/stream. Manufacturing technology and design are used for quality standards, safety, hygiene compliance, production facilities, and quality control and are applied to working environment standards. The certification system selects and operates standards according to each country's industrial environment, certification subject, and purpose. Therefore, when designing a domestic apparel certification system, a feasible promotion plan should be established that considers the current state of the domestic industry, which will serve as a driving force for the growth of the apparel manufacturing industry and an opportunity to increase the trust of global fashion consumers.

보건의료종사자의 안면부여과식 마스크의 사용과 밀착도검사의 중요성 (Usage of Filtering-facepiece Masks for Healthcare Workers and Importance of Fit Testing)

  • Objectives: One aim of the study is to compare filtering facepiece masks for healthcare workers between Korea and other countries. The other is to emphasize the importance of fit testing for these masks using an analysis of previous research. Materials: An extensive literature review was performed by searching a number of websites and existing studies. Results: KF94 and KF99 masks certified by the Korean CDC are suitable for healthcare workers as filtering facepiece masks. The standards for these respirators are similar to FFP2 and FFP3 of EN 143 and 149. The performance, such as filtering efficiency, is almost the same between KP94 and N95. It was found that fit testing of respirators for healthcare workers was important to reduce infection risk. Conclusions: KF94 should be emphasized as filtering facepiece masks for healthcare workers rather than N95. Even though Korea has no fit testing regulations, implementing fit testing in healthcare settings is strongly recommended to decrease infection risk.

야채중에 함유된 유해 미량금속에 관한 연구 (A Study on the harmful trace elements in food)

  • In order to investigate the harmful trace elements in Korean common vegetable, the contents of Lead, Cadmium, Copper, Zinc and Manganese are studied in this paper. As shown in the Table 1, the following vegetable samples collected from the agriculture-marine products market I Seoul were used; root vegetables-potato, sweet potato, carrot, radish, onion and garlic, fruit vegetables-cucumber, pumpkin, green pepper, egg plant, tomato and melon. The contents of the harmful trace elements were determinded by means of atomic absorption spectrophotometry. These elements were extracted from the vegetables with the DDTC-MIBK extraction method. The results were as follows; 1. The average contents of the harmful trace elements in the vegetables were as follows; Root vegetables-Lead, 0.387 ppm; Cadmium, 0.030 ppm; Copper, 1.267 ppm; Zinc, 7.395 ppm; Manganese, 5.380 ppm. Fruit vegetables-Lead, 0.259 ppm; Cadmium, 0.028 ppm; Copper, 1.155 ppm; Zinc, 3.732 ppm; Manganese, 3.532 ppm. 2. The contents of harmful trace elements in vegetables were significantly low compared with foreign standards. This means that vegetables contamination with those harmful trace elements is not significant at present.

호흡기보호구의 Fit Test 방법과 규정에 관한 고찰 (A Review on Fit Test for Respirators and the Regulations)

  • Respirator fit testing is required before entering specific work environmentals to ensure that the respirator worn satisfies a minimum of fit and that the user knows when the respirator fits properly. The fit of a respirator can be determined by qualitative (QLFT) or quantitative fit test (QNFT). The QNFT, having been universally accepted more than the QLFT, provide an objective and numerical basis by measuring a fit factor (FF). Until a few years age, only one QNFT technigue was available and accepted by U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations. In the 1980's and 1990's, several new and fundamentally different QNFT methods were developed. Two of the newer methods are commercially availale and are accepted by OSHA as suitable alternatives. In this articles, the principle of operation of each ONFT technique is explained and each technique's major advantages and disadvantages are pointed out. Emphasis is given to negative-pressure air-purifying respirators, as they are in most frequent use today. The requirements and recommendations for fit testing positive-pressure respirators are discussed as well. Finally, the presently available QNFT standards and regulations are summarized to assist the user in making fit testing decisions.

안산시 보육 시설의 급식 관리 실태 조사 (The Survey on the Foodservice Management System of the Child Care Centers in Ansan)

  • This study was carried out to investigate foodservice management of child care centers in Ansan and to suggest the basic data for foodservice management improvement. A questionnaire survey of 48 child care centers in Ansan was undertaken. Child care centers were categorized large (children eve. 100) and small(children less than 100) by size and public and private by type. Survey questionnaires consisted of general background, employee, food inspection and storage, kitchen, cooking facilities, food distribution and hygiene utensils. The results of this study are summarized as follows: because 46.9% to 56.3% of the centers took a dietitian in employment, foodservices in most of centers were not managed by professionals. The average of employee were 0.77 persons in smalll centers and 1.65 persons in large centers. The average space of kitchen were 3.86 pyung in smalll center, 6.06 pyung (1 pyung=$3.3058m^2$) in large centers. According to the data analyzed from Food inspection and storage, kitchen, cooking facilities, food distribution and hygiene utensils, the results indicate that the foodservice management of child care centers were in a relatively poor state. The director in child care centers should recognize the importance of the sanitation management and pay more attention to food service facilities. To improve foodservice performance at child care centers, it is required fur the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family to develop both the kitchen facility model based on the general sanitation standards and guidelines for child care centers.

서울·경인지역 일부 외국인 근로자들의 산업재해에 관한 통계조사 (A Statistical Study on Industrial Accidents in Migrant Workers in Seoul and Kyungin Area)

  • In order to obtain basic reference information for the establishment of effective industrial safety programmes in migrant workers who live in Seoul and Kyungin Area, accident causes were investigated among 210 injured workers. The data were analyzed according to the USA Standards Institute and International Labour Organization method. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The major distribution of national were mostly from china(82.9%), ages are mostly between 30 and 40 years old(32%), and males are more than females, and mostly married. 2. The parts of body most frequently injured were hand and finger, foot and toe, which were 55.3% of total 210 cases. 3. According to the accident type, caught in, under or between were most frequently observed, 40.2% of the total number of injuries. 4. The most responsible source of injuries were power machine, others, moving machine and tool, building construction. 5. According to the unsafe acts, carelessness and unsafety information were most frequently observed, 66.7% of the total number of injuries. 6. There were significantly difference(p<0.05), between type of accident and source of injury, and between working period and unsafe act.

HPLC에 의한 한국산 칡차의 분석 (Studies on the Content of Pueraria Radix in the Tea by HPLC)

  • 시판 갈근으로부터 Isoflavanoid 성분인 Daidzein과 Daidzin을 분리 정제하고 이를 표준물질로 하여 시판 칡차 8종에 대한 칡성분 분석을 HPLC 방법으로 시도하여 다음과 같은 결론은 얻었다. 1. 칡차의 성분 분석법은 종래의 TLC법에 비하여 HPLC를 이용, 신속하고 정확하게 분석할 수 있었다. 2. 추출방법에 따라 성분함량이 크게 영향을 받아 Daidzein을 분석할 경우는 냉침법이, Daidzin의 분석시는 가열 추출법이 양호하였다. 3. 한국산 갈근중 Daidzein과 Daidzin은 0.08% 및 0.66% 함유되었다. 4. 시판 칡차중 고형차류는 칡의 성분이 표기량에 비하여 매우 적게 함유되거나 전혀 함유되지 않은 예도 있으며 액상차의 경우는 엑기스 고형분이 4∼5%가 함유되었다.

시판 먹는 샘물의 저장 기간 및 온도에 따른 세균학적 및 화학적 품질 변화 (Changes in Microbiological and Chemical Properties of Natural Water with the Storage Time and Temperature)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the microbiological and chemical properties of natural water during storage. The water samples were taken at the time of purchase and the opened bottles and unopened bottles stored at the temperature of 4$^{\circ}C$, 18$^{\circ}C$, and 3$0^{\circ}C$. The bacterial content normally rose to 2.06$\times$102 CFU/$m\ell$ for the unopened bottles and 2.91$\times$102 CFU/$m\ell$ for the opened bottles after 2 weeks of storage, and 1.21$\times$102 CFU/$m\ell$ and 2.64$\times$102, respectively, after 24 weeks of storage. The number of viable cells of bacteria peaked more rapidly at the storage temperature of 3$0^{\circ}C$ than 18$^{\circ}C$. But the total samples were found to be negative for coliforms test during the study period. The average range of pH value was from 7.39 to 7.76. The results showed that the nitrates and chlorides satisfied the Korea Drinking Water Quality Standards during the storage period of 24 weeks. However, the undesirable changes of the taste and odor were detected within 2 weeks and 3 weeks, respectively.
