OC3 Hywind 부유식 풍력발전기 플랫폼의 유체력 계산 및 운동해석 (Hydrodynamic force calculation and motion analysis of OC3 Hywind floating offshore wind turbine platform)

  • 이 연구에서는 부유식 풍력발전기 콘셉트모델중의 하나인 5MW급 OC3-Hywind를 해석하였다. 이 모델은 스파형 플랫폼을 가지고 있으며 3개의 현수식 계류삭으로 해저면과 연결되어있다. 수치해석프로그램으로는 NREL에서 개발한 FAST와 AQWA가 사용되었다. FAST에 입력되는 유체력은 AQWA를 통해서 계산되었으며, 운동특성으로는 전달응답함수와 평균운동, 상위1/3운동, 상위1/10운동을 평가하였다. 다른기관의 해석, 실험결과와 비교하였으며, 이 결과는 부유식풍력발전기 컨셉모델의 기초설계를 재해석하는데 있어 도움이 될것이다.

  • A numerical procedure is described for predicting the motion and structural responses of tension leg platforms (TLPs) in waves. The developed numerical approach is based on combination of a three dimensional source distribution method and the dynamic response analysis method, in which the superstructure of TLPs is assumed flexible instead of the rigid body assumption used in usual two-step analysis method, proposed by Yoshida et. al. .The hydrodynamic interactions among TLP members, such as columms and pontoons, are included in the motion and structural analyses. Numerical results are compared with the experimental and numerical ones, which are obtained in the literature, of the motion and structural responses of a TLP in waves. The results of comparison confirmed the validity of the proposed approach.

  • Accurate prediction of ship dynamics, particularly roll motion, is very important in ship safety. In the past, empirical or vortex based methods were commonly used for the hydrodynamic roll damping predictions but they could not be applied to practical ship roll motion cause of limitations about geometries ad design conditions. Recently RANS-based techniques are developed for the practical ship motion analysis. In this study, RANS based roil analysis about a rectangular cylinder with WAVIS developed by MOERI/KORDI are performed and compared with the experimental data and other RANS results.

전진 속도를 가지는 부유체 운동 문제에 대한 방사기법 비교 연구 (Comparative Study on the Radiation Techniques for the Problem of Floating Body Motion with Forward Speed)

  • In this paper, a comparative study on the radiation techniques for the motion analysis of the three dimensional floating structure with the forward speed was carried out. The Sommerfeld radiation condition, the damping technique, and the point shift technique were used for the comparative study. Radiated wave patterns and hydrodynamic coefficients of the heave motion of floating structure with the forward speed were compared and analyzed. The characteristics and limitations of each radiation technique were analyzed through the calculation results. To overcome the limitations of conventional radiation techniques, the hybrid radiation technique combining the Sommerfeld radiation condition with the damping technique was proposed. It is confirmed that the proposed method, the Hybrid radiation technique, improves the limitation of the speed range and the dissipation of the wave of the conventional radiation technique. The motion analysis code of the three dimensional floating structure with the forward speed based on the Rankine source method with hybrid radiation technique was developed. In order to validate the developed code, hydrodynamic analyses were carried and compared with published experiments.

Hydrodynamic analysis of floating structures with baffled ARTs

  • In ocean industry, free surface type ART (Anti Roll tank) system has been widely used to suppress the roll motion of floating structures. In those, various obstacles have been devised to obtain the sufficient damping and to enhance the controllability of freely rushing water inside the tank. Most of previous researches have paid on the development of simple mathematical formula for coupled ship-ARTs analysis although other numerical and experimental approaches exist. Little attention has been focused on the use of 3D panel method for preliminary design of free surface type ART despite its advantages in computational time and general capacity for hydrodynamic damping estimation. This study aims at developing a potential theory based hydrodynamic code for the analysis of floating structure with baffled ARTs. The sloshing in baffled tanks is modeled through the linear potential theory with FE discretization and it coupled with hydrodynamic equations of floating structures discretized by BEM and FEM, resulting in direct coupled FE-BE formulation. The general capacity of proposed formulation is emphasized through the coupled hydrodynamic analysis of floating structure and sloshing inside baffled ARTs. In addition, the numerical methods for natural sloshing frequency tuning and estimation of hydrodynamic damping ratio of liquid sloshing in baffled tanks undergoing wave exiting loads are developed through the proposed formulation. In numerical examples, effects of natural frequency tuning and baffle ratios on the maximum and significant roll motions are investigated.

VPMM 시험을 이용한 잠수함 모형의 유체력 미계수 추정 (Estimation of Hydrodynamic Derivatives of Submarine Model by Using VPMM Test)

  • 최근 들어 전 세계적으로 항공모함과 첨단 구축함 등 대규모의 최신 함정위주의 해상전력을 강화하는 상황에서 잠수함의 중요성이 더욱 부각되고 있다. 이에 따른 잠수함의 조종성능 향상을 위한 정밀한 동유체력 미계수 값이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 VPMM(Vertical Planar Motion Mechanism) 실험을 위하여 연직 강제 동요시험(VPMM)장비를 이용하였고, 이를 통해 동유체력을 측정하였다. 심도, 주기, 속도 등을 변화시키며 다양한 환경에서 실험을 실시하였다. 잠수함 모형을 속도 U로 예인하면서 동시에 순수 상하동요(Pure heave), 순수 종동요(Pure pitch) 운동을 각각 주었고, 이때 부가되는 힘과 모멘트를 잠수함 모형의 선수 선미 부분에 장착된 로드셀을 이용하여 각각 획득하였다. 그 결과, 푸리에 해석을 통한 잠수함 모형의 선형 유체력 미계수들을 추정할 수 있었다.

Hydrodynamic response of alternative floating substructures for spar-type offshore wind turbines

  • Hydrodynamic analyses of classic and truss spar platforms for floating offshore wind turbines (FOWTs) were performed in the frequency domain, by considering coupling effects of the structure and its mooring system. Based on the Morison equation and Diffraction theory, different wave loads over various frequency ranges and underlying hydrodynamic equations were calculated. Then, Response Amplitude Operators (RAOs) of 6 DOF motions were obtained through the coupled hydrodynamic frequency domain analysis of classic and truss spar-type FOWTs. Truss spar platform had better heave motion performance and less weight than classic spar, while the hydrostatic stability did not show much difference between the two spar platforms.
