We aim to investigate formation of satellite sub-galactic structures around isolated dwarf galaxies using cosmological hydrodynamic zoom simulations. For this, we modify a cosmological hydrodynamic code, GADGET-3, in a way that includes gas cooling down to T~10K, gas heating by universal reionization when z < 8.9, UV shielding for high density regions of $n_{shield}$ > $0.014cm^{-3}$, star formation in the dense regions ($n_H$ > $100cm^{-3}$), and supernova feedback. To get good statistics, we perform three different simulations for different target galaxies of the same mass of ${\sim}10^{10}M_{sun}$. Each simulation starts in a cubic box of a side length of 1Mpc/h with 17 million particles from z = 49. The mass of dark matter (DM) and gas particle is $M_{DM}=4.1{\times}10^3M_{sun}$ and $M_{gas}=7.9{\times}10^2M_{sun}$, respectively, thus each satellite sub-galactic structure can be resolved with more than hundreds or thousands particles. We analyze total 90 sub-galactic structures that have formed outside of the main halos but infall the main halos. We found that 1) mini halos that interact more with the other mini halos tend to accrete the more mass, 2) mini halos that interact more before the reionization tend to form more stars, 3) mini halos with the more interaction tend to approach closer to the galactic center and have the lower orbital circularity, 4) survivals even in the strong tidal fields evolve baryon dominated system, such as globular clusters.
From the environmental aspects, primary productivity of phytoplankton plays the most improtant role in enhancement of marine culture oyster production. This study may be divided into two branches; one is estimation of maximum oyster meat production per unit facility(Carrying Capacity) under the present enviromental conditions in Kamak Bay, the other is improvement of carrying from increase of primary productivity by changing the environmental conditions that cause not ot form an unfavorable environment such as the formation of oxygen deficient water mass using the eco-hydrodynamic model. By simulation of three-dimensional hydrdynamic model and ecosystem model, the comparison between observed and computed data showed good agreement. The results of sensitivity analysis showed that phytoplankton maximum growth rate was the most important parameter for phytoplankton and dissolved oxygen. The estimation of mean primary productivity of Wonpo, Kamak, Pyongsa, and Kunnae culture grounds in Kamak Bay during culturing period were 3.73gC/$m^2$/d, 2.12gC/$m^2$/d, 1.98gC/$m^2$/d, and 1.26gC/$m^2$/d, respectively. Under condition not ot form the oxygen deficient water mass, four times increasing of pollutants loading as much as the present loading from river increased mean primary productivity of whole culture grounds to 4.02gC/$m^2$/d. Sediment N, P fluxes that allowed for 35% increasing from the present conditions increased mean primary productivity of whole culture grounds to 3.65gC/$m^2$/d. Finally, ten times increasing of boundary loadings from the present conditions increased mean primary productivity of whole culture grounds to 3.95gC/$m^2$/d. The maximum oyster meat production per year and that of unit facility in actual oyster culture grounds under the present conditions were 6,929ton and 0.93ton, respectively. This 0.93ton/unit facility is considered to be the carrying capacity in study area, and if the primary productivity is increased by changing the environmental conditions, oyster production can be increased.

Recently, the ship vibration analysis technique has been well set up by using FEM. The methods considering the hydrodynamic added mass and damping of the fluid surrounding a floating ship have been well developed, so that they can be calculated by using the commercial package FEM programs such as MSC/NASTRAN, ADINA and ANSYS. Especially, MSC/NASTRAN has the functions to consider the fluid in tanks(MFLUID) and to solve the Fluid-Structure Interaction(FSI) problem(DMAP). In this study, the global ship vibration with considering the added mass distributed at the grid points on the wetted shell surface is introduced to. In the new method, the velocity potentials of the fluid surrounding a floating ship are calculated by solving the Lapalce equation using the Boundary Element Method(BEM), and the point mass is obtained by integrating the potentials at the points. Then, the global vibration analyses of the ship structure with distributed added mass on the wetted surface are carried out for an oil/chemical tanker. During the future sea trial, the results will be confirmed by measurement.

The objective of the present study is to investigate the effect of experimental parameters on the hydrodynamic characteristics in a horizontal tee-type evaporator using R-22. The experimental apparatus consisted of an unheated tee-type test section, a liquid-vapor separator, a preheated, mass flow meters, a plate heat exchanger, pump, and other measurement devices. The experimental parameters were mass flux(500 and 600kg/$m^2$s), inlet quality(0.1~0.3) and separation ratio(0.3~0.7). Absolute pressure at the inlet of the test section was 0.652 MPa. The branch-to-inlet inner diameter ratio was 0.61. Pressure gradient at the branch section was larger than that at the run section at the same separation ratio. Pressure drop per unit length increased at the run section and decreased at the branch section as the separation ratio increased. Pressure drop predicted by the separated flow model agreed with experimental data within -35 to +16%. Generally, predicted values showed similar trend with the data. Mass flow ratio of vapor refrigerant was affected by the inlet quality more than the mass flux.

Nuclear rings are sites of intense star formation at the center of barred spiral galaxies. A straightforward but unanswered question is what controls star formation rate (SFR) in nuclear rings. To understand how the ring SFR is related to mass inflow rate, gas content, and background gravitational field, we run a series of semi-global hydrodynamic simulations of nuclear rings, adopting the TIGRESS framework to handle radiative heating and cooling as well as star formation and supernova feedback. We find: 1) when the mass inflow rate is constant, star formation proceeds in a remarkably steady fashion, without showing any burst-quench behavior suggested in the literature; 2) the steady state SFR has a simple linear relationship with the inflow rate rather than the ring gas mass; 3) the midplane pressure balances the weight of the overlying gas and the SFR surface density is linearly correlated with the midplane pressure, consistent with the self-regulated star formation theory. We suggest that the ring SFR is controlled by the mass inflow rate in the first place, while the gas mass adjusts to the resulting feedback in the course of achieving the vertical dynamical equilibrium.
The collision of two particles in the accretion disk may lead to be a mechanism of heat generation. By using hydrodynamic equations, the mean free path, the collision frequency and the deflection angle due to the collision of the particles are derived as a function of the mass accretion rate. The mean free path seems to be a smaller fraction compared to the dimension parameter of the system. The radiative flux in the disk is obtained under the influence of the collision of the particles.
We present our study on a comparison of dark matter halo merger history from the runs using different numerical simulation codes. To analyze the uncertainty caused by the use of different N-body calculation methods, we compare the results from two cosmological hydrodynamic simulation codes GADGET-2 and RAMSES, which use a TreePM algorithm and the Adaptive Mesh Refinement(AMR) technique respectively. We perform cosmological dark matter-only simulations with the same parameter set and initial condition for both. The dark matter halo mass functions from two simulation runs correspond well with each other, except for lower mass haloes. The discrepancy on the low-mass haloes in turn causes a notable difference in halo merger rate, especially for the case of extremely minor merger. The result from GADGET-2 predicts that most haloes undergo more number of mergers with small haloes than that from RAMSES, independent of halo mass and environment. However, in the context of the study on galaxy evolution, such extreme minor mergers generally do not have strong effects on galaxy properties such as morphology or star formation history. Hence, we suggest that this uncertainty could be quantitatively negligible, and the results from two simulations are reliable even with only minor difference in merger history.
We investigate the environmental effects on galaxy spin using the sample of ~1100 galaxies from the first public data of MaNGA integral field unit survey. We determine the spin parameter ${\lambda}_{Re}$ of galaxies by analyzing the two-dimensional stellar kinematic measurements within the effective radius, and study its dependence on the large-scale (background mass density determined with 20 nearby galaxies) and small-scale (distance to and morphology of the nearest neighbor galaxy) environments. We first examine the mass dependence of galaxy spin, and find that the spin parameter decreases with stellar mass at log ($M_{\ast}/M_{\odot}$) > 10, consistent with previous studies. We then divide the galaxies into three subsamples using their stellar masses to minimize the mass effects on galaxy spin. The spin parameter of galaxies in each subsample does not change with the background density, but do change with the distance to and morphology of the nearest neighbor. The spin parameter increases when late-type neighbors are within the virial radius, and decreases when early-type neighbors are within the virial radius. These results suggest that the large-scale environments hardly affect the galaxy spin, but the effects of small-scale environments such as hydrodynamic galaxy-galaxy interactions are substantial.
Tidal disruption events (TDEs) provide evidence for quiescent supermassive black holes (SMBHs) in the centers of inactive galaxies. TDEs occur when a star on a parabolic orbit approaches close enough to a SMBH to be disrupted by the tidal force of the SMBH. The subsequent super-Eddington accretion of stellar debris falling back to the SMBH produces a characteristic flare lasting several months. It is theoretically expected that the bolometric light curve decays with time as proportional to $t^{-5/3}$. However, some of the observed X-ray light curves deviate from the $t^{-5/3}$ decay rate, while some of them are overall in good agreement with the $t^{-5/3}$ law. Therefore, it is required to construct the theoretical model for explaining these light curve variations consistently. In this paper, we revisit the mass fallback rates semi-analytically by taking account of the stellar internal structure, orbital eccentricity and penetration factor. We find that the mass fallback rate is shallower than the standard $t^{-5/3}$ decay rate independently of the polytropic index, and the orbital eccentricity only changes the magnitude of the mass fallback rate. Furthermore, the penetration factor significantly can modify the magnitude and variation of mass fallback rate. We confirm these results by performing the computational hydrodynamic simulations. We also discuss the relevance of our model by comparing these results with the observed light curves.
The physical origin of low escape fractions of ionizing radiation derived from Lyman-break galaxies (LBGs) at z ~ 3 - 4 is a puzzle in the theory of reionization. We perform idealized disk galaxy simulations to investigate how galactic properties, such as metallicity and gas mass, affect the escape of Lyman continuum (LyC) photons using radiation-hydrodynamic code RAMSES-RT, with strong stellar feedback. We find that the luminosity-weighted escape fraction from a metal-poor (Z=0.002) galaxy embedded in a halo of mass Mh ~ 1011 M⊙ is 〈f3Desc〉 ~ 8%. However, when the gas metallicity is increased to Z=0.02, the escape fraction is significantly reduced to 〈f3Desc〉 ~ 1%, as young stars are enshrouded by their birth clouds for a longer period of time. On the other hand, increasing the gas mass by a factor of 5 leads to 〈f3Desc〉 ~ 4%, as LyC photons are only moderately absorbed by the thicker disk. Our experiments seem to suggest that high metallicity is primarily responsible for the low escape fractions observed from LBGs, supporting the scenario in which the escape fraction has a negative correlation with halo mass. Indeed, our simulated galaxy with the typical metallicity of LBGs (Z=0.006) shows the relative escape fraction of 8%, consistent with recent observations of galaxies with M1500 = -20.
