차체용 1.2GPa급 초고장력 TRIP강의 Weldbond 접합부의 기계적 거동 (Mechanical Behavior of Weldbond Joint of 1.2GPa Grade Ultra High Strength TRIP Steel for Car Body Applications)

  • The effect of weldbond hybrid joining process on the mechanical behavior of single lap and L-tensile joints was investigated for the newly developed 1.2GPa grade ultra high strength TRIP(transformation induced plasticity) steel. In the case of single lap shear behavior, the weldbond joint of 1.2GPa TRIP steel showed lower maximum tensile load and elongation than that of the adhesive bonding only. It was considered to be due to the reduction of real adhesion area, which was caused by the degradation of adhesive near the spot weld, and the brittle fracture behavior of the spot weld joint. In the case of L-tensile behavior, however, the maximum tensile load of the weldbond joint of 1.2GPa TRIP steel was dramatically increased and the fracture mode was change to the base metal fracture which is desirable for the spot weld joint. These synergic effect of the weldbond hybrid joining process in 1.2GPa TRIP steel was considered to be due to the stress dissipation around the spot weld joint by the presence of adhesive which resulted in the change of crack propagation path.

레이저-아크 하이브리드 용접을 이용한 SS400의 맞대기 용접 특성 (Butt Weldability for SS400 Using Laser-Arc Hybrid Welding)

  • 본 연구에서는 SS400에 대해 레이저-아크 하이브리드 용접을 이용하여 맞대기 용접을 실시하였다. 맞대기 용접시 입열에 직접적으로 영향을 미치는 레이저 출력, 용접 전류 및 속도를 변화시켜 실험을 실시하였다. 이를 통해, 결함 없이 원 패스 관통 용접이 이루어지고, 미려한 비드가 형성되는 최적의 맞대기 용접 조건을 도출하였다. 용접부의 기계적 및 조직적 특성을 파악하기 위해 레이저 및 아크 영역에 대해 경도측정 및 미세조직 관찰을 실시하였다. 또한 모재와 용접 시험편의 강도를 비교하기 위해 인장강도 실험을 실시하였으며, 결과적으로 두 시험편의 인장강도 값은 유사하게 나타나는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

세립강 저입열 용접부의 기계적 성질 (Mechanical properties of fine grained steel weldments formed with low heat input)

  • Low heat input welding methods have been investigated in order to minimize the HAZ softening of the 600MPa grade fine grained steel weldment. The welding processes of interest were a high speed FCA welding with a multi-torch welding system, laser welding with filler feeding and hybrid laser welding. No HAZ softening was found for all the weldments formed with low heat input less than 10kJ/cm. Tensile strength of the weldments was high enough to satisfy the required value. Impact toughness of the weldments was also good even at -20$^{\circ}C$.

  • The aluminum Subframe for automobile was developed using hybrid process, i.e. extruforming and press forming. To achieve a $30\%$ weight reduction compared with convensional steel subframe keeping satisfactory performance, the design of cross-section of extrusion part was initiated, then forming simulation was performed and the final design was determined. In addition, we tried to estibilish proper aluminum welding conditions for good penetration depth and few pore defact, finally the prototype of aluminum subframe was assembled using MIG welding method.

  • Korea holds the first rank in the world for shipbuilding industry, we should develop the welding technology which is fundamental technique in order to keep the first rank. In this study, therefore, welding characteristics of shipbuilding steel using arc and laser were compered experimentally to apply laser-arc hybrid welding system in the heavy industry including shipbuilding as next generation welding process.

하이브리드 방식 (CNC+Laser)을 이용한 폴리머용접공정 (Hybrid (CNC+Laser) Process for Polymer Welding)

  • Polycarbonate (PC) and Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) were welded by a combination of a diode laser and a CNC machining center. Laser beam delivered through the transparent PC and was absorbed in an opaque ABS. Polymers were melted and joined by absorbed and conducted heat. Experiments were carried out by varying working distance from 44mm to 50mm for the focus spot diameter control, laser input power from 10W to 25W, and scanning speed from 100 to 400mm/min. The weld bead and cross-section were analyzed for weld quality, and tensile results were presented through the joint force measurement. With focus distance at 48mm, laser power with 20W, and welding speed at 300mm/min, experimental results showed the best welding quality which bead size was measured to be 3.75mm. The shear strength at the given condition was $22.8N/mm^2$. Considering tensile strength of ABS is $43N/mm^2$, shear strength was sufficient to hold two materials. A single process was possible in a CNC machining system, surface processing, hole machining and welding. As a result, the process cycle time was reduced to 25%. Compared to a typical process, specimens were fabricated in a single process, with high precision.

  • 현재 산업현장에서 활용하는 용접용 로봇은 대부분 오프라인(off-line)으로 작업을 수행하고 있어 생산성과 용접 품질 향상에 그 기능을 충분하게 발휘하지 못하는 실정이다. 현재에는 용접 품질 향상을 위하여 용접 매카니즘이 많이 연구되어 많은 수학적인 해석과 물리적인 해석방법을 도입하여 비선형적인 용접 메카니즘을 연구하고 있다. 이러한 여러 가지 비선형적인 문제와 해석상의 어려움에도 불구하고 용접의 결함을 보완하기 위해 보다 정확한 용접데이터를 생성하기 위하여 고감도의 센서를 도입하여 신호처리 하고 있으며, 이를 이용하여 용접시스템에 포함시키는 피드백제어시스템(feed-back control system)을 구성하여 용접선 추적 및 용접 비드(bead) 형상제어에 응용하고 있다. 또한, 최근에는 인공지능제어기술이 발달되어 인간의 학습능력과 의사결정능력을 대신하는 신경회로망(neural network)과 퍼지이론(fuzzy logic)을 도입하여 용접기술을 개발하고 발전시키고 있다. 본 연구에서는 신경회로망이론을 이용하여 실시간으로 용접시스템을 모니터링하고 퍼지제어기에 의하여 용접결함을 보정하는 지능시스템을 개발방법을 제시하고자 한다.

PALW을 이용한 소경 스테인리스강 튜브의 용입특성 개선 (Improvement of Penetration Characteristics by Plasma Augmented Laser Welding of Small Diameter Stainless Steel Tubes)

  • Laser welding is obviously an attractive method to join small, thin parts such as small stainless steel tubes, but it is very sensitive to the joint clearance and tolerance, and this makes laser welding difficult to obtain consistent welding qualities over time. Recently, Plasma Augmented Laser Welding(PALW) is being developed to solve these problems. In this study, plasma arc welding(PAW) was introduced to join conventional V-grooved butt joint of thin stainless steel strips using single laser heat source in manufacturing small stainless steel tubes. The effect of the welding speed enhancement is investigated by the experiments. Effects of welding directions, distance between the heat sources and intensity of arc heat source on the optimal welding speed was investigated. Through this research, it was confirmed that PALW process has higher welding speed and robustness than laser welding process.
