  • The HEV (Hybrid Electrical Vehicle) becomes commercialized recently because of high fuel efficiency and low air pollution. The highest output power system except the traction motor is an air conditioner compressor in HEV system. The full or hybrid electric compressor is applied for HEV. The general HEC (Hybrid Electric Compressor) requires the half power motor and drive system of the full electric compressor because the rated output power of motor drive system is designed to charge the minimum cooling capacity at the time of idle stop. Therefore, this hybrid electric is more economical and practical solution. In this paper, we studied about the motor drive system of hybrid electric compressor for HEV. The applied voltage specification is 42 V, an IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) is designed and applied as the compressor drive motor.

파력을 이용한 하이브리드 발전에 대한 연구 (The Research of the Hybrid Power Generation using Ocean Wave)

  • 본 논문에서는 파도의 상하운동에 의해 발전되는 형발전시스템과 진동발전시스템이 결합된 하이브리드 발전방법을 제안한다. 선형발전시스템은 권선과 영구자석으로 구성되어있고, 파도의 상하운동속도를 직접적으로 사용하므로 파도의 주파수에 관계없이 안정적인 발전을 한다. 그리고 진동발전시스템은 진동시스템인 영구자석, 스프링과 발전시스템인 영구자석, 권선으로 구성되어 있다. 진동발전시스템은 파도의 주파수와 진동시스템의 고유진동수를 일치시킨 공진대역에서 구동함으로써 파도의 상하운동 속도보다 더 큰 속도를 이용하여 더 많은 전기에너지를 얻을 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서 제안한 하이브리드 파력발전방법은 공진영역에서 더 많은 전기에너지를 얻을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 공진영역을 벗어난 대역에서도 안정적으로 발전할 수 있는 장점을 가짐을 알 수 있다.

자작형 하이브리드카의 제작 및 제어에 관한 연구 (A Study on Manufacture and Control of a Self Manufacturing Hybrid Electric Vehicle)

  • In this paper, Hybrid Electric Vehicle is directly designed and manufactured for base study of HEV's system and Green Car. Foundation design consists of power train design and the frame design. The power train concept includes motor, engine, generator and battery. And the concept of the frame is the single-seat of this self-made HEV. A frame installed in hybrid system contains suspension, steering wheel, seat, accelerating pedal, brake pedal, clutch handle and various chassis parts with bearings. Electromagnetic clutch is equipped to transmit engine power to drive axle. The control algorism make using LabVIEW to control of an engine and a motor depending on drive condition. A parallel type hybrid system is manufactured to control operation of a motor and an engine depending on vehicle speed.

  • This paper proposes a modeling and controller design approach for a wind-diesel hybrid system including dump load. Wind turbine depends on nature such as wind speed. It causes power fluctuations of wind turbine. Excessive power fluctuation at stand-alone power grid is even worse than large-scale power grid. The proposed control scheme for power quality is fuzzy PI controller. This controller has advantages of PI and fuzzy controller. The proposed model is carried out by using Matlab/Simulink simulation program. In the simulation study, the proposed controller is compared with a conventional PI controller. Simulation results show that the proposed controller is more effective against disturbances caused by wind speed and load variation than the PI controller, and thus it contributes to a better quality wind-diesel hybrid power system.

  • This paper concerns the development of the transformer that can reduce harmonics supplied to the system if the output of photovoltaic inverter in the photovoltaic system is grid-connected, and suggests that problems of harmonics and power factor degradation in the grid-connected photovoltaic system can be improved. In this study, the burden of increasing the investment in new facilities and securing their installation space due to harmonics has been substantially eased through the development of a hybrid transformer possessing unbalanced function and harmonics reduction function using zig-zag coils, and most of all, it is expected that the development of such high efficiency hybrid transformer possessing functions of transformation and reducing harmonics can improve the power quality as well as prevent damages caused by harmonics, leading to suppress unnecessary loss of electric power and thereby contribute to energy savings.

  • In this study, we fabricated a parallelly connected Li-ion battery/supercapacitor hybrid cell to combine the advantageous characteristics of Li-ion battery and supercapacitor, high energy density and high power density, respectively, and investigated its discharging characteristics over a wide temperature range from -40 to $25^{\circ}C$. At the initial state of discharging of the hybrid cell, the power was mostly provided by the supercapacitor and then the portion of the Li-ion battery was gradually increased. By installing a switching system into the hybrid cell, which controls the discharging sequence of Li-ion battery and supercapacitor, the maximum power was improved by 40% compared with non switching system. In addition at low temperatures, the power and discharging time of the hybrid cell were significantly enhanced compared to a battery-alone system. The hybrid cell is expected to be applied in electric vehicles and small domestic appliances that require high power at initial discharging state.

  • The monitoring system is an absolutely required system for improving a performance to consider the situation for the hybrid generation of the photovoltaic (PV) and wind power (WP) energy experimental research complex. This system is to monitor with the railroad switching point heating system using LabVIEW to the hybrid generation of the PV and WP. The monitoring system of this paper is a program monitoring the hour, day and total of the voltage and current that made from the hybrid generation of PV and WP. In experiment, we acquired the power data according to time at the day of PV and WP. We have confirmed the possibility of the real time monitoring system using LabVIEW with the railroad switching point heating system as the hybrid generation of the PV and WP.

  • A new progressive advanced approach (Loop thermosyphon Thermoelectric Power generation System) is suggested to optimize heat recovery ability from vehicle exhaust gas. As an initial look at device feasibility, the present new TE system adopted the loop thermosyphon as a cooling heat exchanger. The TE system with loop thermosyphon was investigated in terms of working fluids, instability of system, amount of working fluid, and so on. Basically, the present experimental works have been focused on finding the optimum working condition of the system to improve thermoelectric power output and to obtain stable power generation to operate hybrid vehicles. The present experimental results with the loop thermosyphon TE module shows possibilities as an improved TE system for future thermoelectric hybrid vehicles.

하이브리드 이륜차의 동력원 용량 매칭 및 연비평가 (Component Sizing and Evaluating Fuel Economies of a Hybrid Electric Scooter)

  • Recently, most of the countries started to regulate the emission of vehicle because of the global warming. The engine scooter is also one of the factor which cause the pollution. The hybrid system of a vehicle has many advantages such as fuel saving and emission reduction. The purpose of this study is to choose optimal size of engine, motor and battery for hybrid scooter system using Dynamic programming. The dynamic programming is an effective method to find an optimal solution for the complicated nonlinear system, which contains various constraints of control variables. The power source size of hybrid scooter was chosen through the backward simulator using dynamic programming. From the analysis, we choose the optimal size of each power source. To verify the optimal size of the power source, the Forward simulation was carried out. As a result, the fuel efficiency of hybrid scooter has significantly increased in comparison with that of engine scooter.

  • In this paper, a hybrid photovoltaic fuel-cell generation system employing an electrolyzer for hydrogen generation and battery for storage purpose is designed and simulated. The system is applicable for remote areas or isolated DC loads. Control strategy has been considered to achieve permanent power supply to the load via the photovoltaic/battery or the fuel cell based on the power available from the sun. MATLAB and SIMULINK have been used for the simulation work. A sensitivity analysis is conducted for various load level based on availability of solar radiation.
