Deflection in a beam of a composite frame is a serviceability design criterion. This paper presents a methodology for rapid prediction of long-term mid-span deflections of beams in composite frames subjected to service load. Neural networks have been developed to predict the inelastic mid-span deflections in beams of frames (typically for 20 years, considering cracking, and time effects, i.e., creep and shrinkage in concrete) from the elastic moments and elastic mid-span deflections (neglecting cracking, and time effects). These models can be used for frames with any number of bays and stories. The training, validating, and testing data sets for the neural networks are generated using a hybrid analytical-numerical procedure of analysis. Multilayered feed-forward networks have been developed using sigmoid function as an activation function and the back propagation-learning algorithm for training. The proposed neural networks are validated for an example frame of different number of spans and stories and the errors are shown to be small. Sensitivity studies are carried out using the developed neural networks. These studies show the influence of variations of input parameters on the output parameter. The neural networks can be used in every day design as they enable rapid prediction of inelastic mid-span deflections with reasonable accuracy for practical purposes and require computational effort which is a fraction of that required for the available methods.

Social networking platforms have become a smart way for people to interact and meet on internet. It provides a way to keep in touch with friends, families, colleagues, business partners, and many more. Among the various social networking sites, Twitter is one of the fastest-growing sites where users can read the news, share ideas, discuss issues etc. Due to its vast popularity, the accounts of legitimate users are vulnerable to the large number of threats. Spam and Malware are some of the most affecting threats found on Twitter. Therefore, in order to enjoy seamless services it is required to secure Twitter against malicious users by fixing them in advance. Various researches have used many Machine Learning (ML) based approaches to detect spammers on Twitter. This research aims to devise a secure system based on Hybrid Similarity Cosine and Soft Cosine measured in combination with Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) to secure Twitter network against spammers. The similarity among tweets is determined using Cosine with Soft Cosine which has been applied on the Twitter dataset. GA has been utilized to enhance training with minimum training error by selecting the best suitable features according to the designed fitness function. The tweets have been classified as spammer and non-spammer based on ANN structure along with the voting rule. The True Positive Rate (TPR), False Positive Rate (FPR) and Classification Accuracy are considered as the evaluation parameter to evaluate the performance of system designed in this research. The simulation results reveals that our proposed model outperform the existing state-of-arts.
In this paper, soft learning techniques are used to predict the ultimate torsional capacity of Reinforced Concrete beams strengthened with Fiber Reinforced Polymer. Soft computing techniques, namely Artificial Neural Network, trained by various back propagation algorithms, and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm, have been used to model and predict the torsional strength of Reinforced Concrete beams strengthened with Fiber Reinforced Polymer. The performance of each model has been evaluated by using statistical parameters such as coefficient of determination (R2), Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). The hybrid PSO NN model resulted in an R2 of 0.9292 with an RMSE of 5.35 for training and an R2 of 0.9328 with an RMSE of 4.57 for testing. Another model, ANN BP, produced an R2 of 0.9125 with an RMSE of 6.17 for training and an R2 of 0.8951 with an RMSE of 5.79 for testing. The results of the PSO NN model were in close agreement with the experimental values. Thus, the PSO NN model can be used to predict the ultimate torsional capacity of RC beams strengthened with FRP with greater acceptable accuracy.

Accurate prediction of wind speed and power is vital for enhancing the efficiency of wind energy systems. Numerous solutions have been implemented to date, demonstrating their potential to improve forecasting. Among these, deep learning is perceived as a revolutionary approach in the field. However, despite their effectiveness, the noise present in the collected data remains a significant challenge. This noise has the potential to diminish the performance of these algorithms, leading to inaccurate predictions. In response to this, this study explores a novel feature engineering approach. This approach involves altering the data input shape in both Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short-Term Memory (CNN-LSTM) and Autoregressive models for various forecasting horizons. The results reveal substantial enhancements in model resilience against noise resulting from step increases in data. The approach could achieve an impressive 83% accuracy in predicting unseen data up to the 24th steps. Furthermore, this method consistently provides high accuracy for short, mid, and long-term forecasts, outperforming the performance of individual models. These findings pave the way for further research on noise reduction strategies at different forecasting horizons through shape-wise feature engineering.
Artificial Organism-used application areas are expanding at a break-neck speed with a view to getting things done in a dynamic and Informal environment. A use of general programming or traditional hi methods as the representation of Artificial Organism behavior knowledge in these areas can cause problems related to frequent modifications and bad response in an unpredictable situation. Strategies aimed at solving these problems in a machine-learning fashion includes Genetic Programming and Evolving Neural Networks. But the learning method of Artificial-Organism is not good yet, and can't represent life in the environment. With this in mind, this research is designed to come up with a new behavior evolution model. The model represents behavior knowledge with Classification Rules and Enhanced Backpropation Neural Networks and discriminate the denomination. To evaluate the model, the researcher applied it to problems with the competition of Artificial-Organism in the Simulator and compared with other system. The survey shows that the model prevails in terms of the speed and Qualify of learning. The model is characterized by the simultaneous learning of classification rules and neural networks represented on chromosomes with the help of Genetic Algorithm and the consolidation of learning ability caused by the hybrid processing of the classification rules and Enhanced Backpropagation Neural Network.

In this paper, we propose Fuzzy Polynomial Neural Networks(FPNN) based on Polynomial Neural Networks(PNN) and Fuzzy Neural Networks(FNN) for model identification of complex and nonlinear systems. The proposed FPNN is generated from the mutually combined structure of both FNN and PNN. The one and the other are considered as the premise part and consequence part of FPNN structure respectively. As the consequence part of FPNN, PNN is based on Group Method of Data Handling(GMDH) method and its structure is similar to Neural Networks. But the structure of PNN is not fixed like in conventional Neural Networks and self-organizing networks that can be generated. FPNN is available effectively for multi-input variables and high-order polynomial according to the combination of FNN with PNN. Accordingly it is possible to consider the nonlinearity characteristics of process and to get better output performance with superb predictive ability. As the premise part of FPNN, FNN uses both the simplified fuzzy inference as fuzzy inference method and error back-propagation algorithm as learning rule. The parameters such as parameters of membership functions, learning rates and momentum coefficients are adjusted using genetic algorithms. And we use two kinds of FNN structure according to the division method of fuzzy space of input variables. One is basic FNN structure and uses fuzzy input space divided by each separated input variable, the other is modified FNN structure and uses fuzzy input space divided by mutually combined input variables. In order to evaluate the performance of proposed models, we use the nonlinear function and traffic route choice process. The results show that the proposed FPNN can produce the model with higher accuracy and more robustness than any other method presented previously. And also performance index related to the approximation and prediction capabilities of model is evaluated and discussed.
K-BEMS System was introduced to reduce peak load and to save total energy of the 120 buildings that KEPCO headquarter and branch offices use. K-BEMS system is composed of PV, battery, and hybrid PCS. In this system, ESS, PV, lighting is used to save building energy based on demand prediction. Currently, neural network technique for short past data is applied to demand prediction, and fixed scheduling method by operator for ESS charging/discharging is used. To enhance this system, KEPCO research institute has carried out this K-BEMS research project for 3 years since January 2016. As the result of this project, we developed new real-time highly reliable building demand prediction technique with error free and optimized automatic ESS charging/discharging technique. Through several field test, we can certify the developed algorithm performance successfully. So we will describe the details in this paper.
Although Intelligent Tutoring System(ITS) offers individualized learning environment that overcome limited function of existent CAI, and consider many learners' variable, there is little development to be using at the sites of schools because of inefficiency of investment and absence of pedagogical content knowledge representation techniques. To solve these problem, we should study a method, which represents knowledge for ITS, and which reuses knowledge base. On the pedagogical content knowledge, the knowledge in education differs from knowledge in a general sense. In this paper, we shall primarily address the multi-complex structure of knowledge and explanation of learning vein using multi-complex structure. Multi-Complex, which is organized into nodes, clusters and uses by knowledge base. In addition, it grows a adaptive knowledge base by self-learning. Therefore, in this paper, we propose the 'Extended Neural Logic Network(X-Neuronet)', which is based on Neural Logic Network with logical inference and topological inflexibility in cognition structure, and includes pedagogical content knowledge and object-oriented conception, verify validity. X-Neuronet defines that a knowledge is directive combination with inertia and weights, and offers basic conceptions for expression, logic operator for operation and processing, node value and connection weight, propagation rule, learning algorithm.
In line with the trend of industrial innovation, IoT technology utilized in a variety of fields is emerging as a key element in creation of new business models and the provision of user-friendly services through the combination of big data. The accumulated data from devices with the Internet-of-Things (IoT) is being used in many ways to build a convenience-based smart system as it can provide customized intelligent systems through user environment and pattern analysis. Recently, it has been applied to innovation in the public domain and has been using it for smart city and smart transportation, such as solving traffic and crime problems using CCTV. In particular, it is necessary to comprehensively consider the easiness of securing real-time service data and the stability of security when planning underground services or establishing movement amount control information system to enhance citizens' or commuters' convenience in circumstances with the congestion of public transportation such as subways, urban railways, etc. However, previous studies that utilize image data have limitations in reducing the performance of object detection under private issue and abnormal conditions. The IoT device-based sensor data used in this study is free from private issue because it does not require identification for individuals, and can be effectively utilized to build intelligent public services for unspecified people. Especially, sensor data stored by the IoT device need not be identified to an individual, and can be effectively utilized for constructing intelligent public services for many and unspecified people as data free form private issue. We utilize the IoT-based infrared sensor devices for an intelligent pedestrian tracking system in metro service which many people use on a daily basis and temperature data measured by sensors are therein transmitted in real time. The experimental environment for collecting data detected in real time from sensors was established for the equally-spaced midpoints of 4×4 upper parts in the ceiling of subway entrances where the actual movement amount of passengers is high, and it measured the temperature change for objects entering and leaving the detection spots. The measured data have gone through a preprocessing in which the reference values for 16 different areas are set and the difference values between the temperatures in 16 distinct areas and their reference values per unit of time are calculated. This corresponds to the methodology that maximizes movement within the detection area. In addition, the size of the data was increased by 10 times in order to more sensitively reflect the difference in temperature by area. For example, if the temperature data collected from the sensor at a given time were 28.5℃, the data analysis was conducted by changing the value to 285. As above, the data collected from sensors have the characteristics of time series data and image data with 4×4 resolution. Reflecting the characteristics of the measured, preprocessed data, we finally propose a hybrid algorithm that combines CNN in superior performance for image classification and LSTM, especially suitable for analyzing time series data, as referred to CNN-LSTM (Convolutional Neural Network-Long Short Term Memory). In the study, the CNN-LSTM algorithm is used to predict the number of passing persons in one of 4×4 detection areas. We verified the validation of the proposed model by taking performance comparison with other artificial intelligence algorithms such as Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP), Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) and RNN-LSTM (Recurrent Neural Network-Long Short Term Memory). As a result of the experiment, proposed CNN-LSTM hybrid model compared to MLP, LSTM and RNN-LSTM has the best predictive performance. By utilizing the proposed devices and models, it is expected various metro services will be provided with no illegal issue about the personal information such as real-time monitoring of public transport facilities and emergency situation response services on the basis of congestion. However, the data have been collected by selecting one side of the entrances as the subject of analysis, and the data collected for a short period of time have been applied to the prediction. There exists the limitation that the verification of application in other environments needs to be carried out. In the future, it is expected that more reliability will be provided for the proposed model if experimental data is sufficiently collected in various environments or if learning data is further configured by measuring data in other sensors.
Quality control is critical at manufacturing sites and is key to predicting the risk of quality defect before manufacturing. However, the reliability of manual quality control methods is affected by human and physical limitations because manufacturing processes vary across industries. These limitations become particularly obvious in domain areas with numerous manufacturing processes, such as the manufacture of major nuclear equipment. This study proposed a novel method for predicting the risk of quality defects by using natural language processing and machine learning. In this study, production data collected over 6 years at a factory that manufactures main equipment that is installed in nuclear power plants were used. In the preprocessing stage of text data, a mapping method was applied to the word dictionary so that domain knowledge could be appropriately reflected, and a hybrid algorithm, which combined n-gram, Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency, and Singular Value Decomposition, was constructed for sentence vectorization. Next, in the experiment to classify the risky processes resulting in poor quality, k-fold cross-validation was applied to categorize cases from Unigram to cumulative Trigram. Furthermore, for achieving objective experimental results, Naive Bayes and Support Vector Machine were used as classification algorithms and the maximum accuracy and F1-score of 0.7685 and 0.8641, respectively, were achieved. Thus, the proposed method is effective. The performance of the proposed method were compared and with votes of field engineers, and the results revealed that the proposed method outperformed field engineers. Thus, the method can be implemented for quality control at manufacturing sites.
