시변지연을 가지는 LPV시스템의 H 샘플데이타 제어 (H Sampled-Data Control of LPV Systems with Time-varying Delay)

  • This paper considers the problem of sampled-data control for continuous linear parameter varying (LPV) systems. It is assumed that the sampling periods are arbitrarily varying but bounded. Based on the input delay approach, the sampled-data control LPV system is transformed into a continuous time-delay LPV system. Some less conservative stabilization results represented by LMI (Linear Matrix Inequality) are obtained by using the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and the reciprocally combination approach. The proposed method for the designed gain matrix should guarantee asymptotic stability and a specified level of performance on the closed-loop hybrid system. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and the improvement of the proposed method.

Combining replication and checkpointing redundancies for reducing resiliency overhead

  • We herein propose a heuristic redundancy selection algorithm that combines resubmission, replication, and checkpointing redundancies to reduce the resiliency overhead in fault-tolerant workflow scheduling. The appropriate combination of these redundancies for workflow tasks is obtained in two consecutive phases. First, to compute the replication vector (number of task replicas), we apportion the set of provisioned resources among concurrently executing tasks according to their needs. Subsequently, we obtain the optimal checkpointing interval for each task as a function of the number of replicas and characteristics of tasks and computational environment. We formulate the problem of obtaining the optimal checkpointing interval for replicated tasks in situations where checkpoint files can be exchanged among computational resources. The results of our simulation experiments, on both randomly generated workflow graphs and real-world applications, demonstrated that both the proposed replication vector computation algorithm and the proposed checkpointing scheme reduced the resiliency overhead.

An Adaptive Tracking Controller for Vibration Reduction of Flexible Manipulator

  • An adaptive tracking controller is presented for the vibration reduction of flexible manipulator employed in hazardous area by combining input shaping technique with sliding-mode control. The combined approach appears to be robust in the presence of severe disturbance and unknown parameter which will be estimated by least-square method in real time. In a maneuver strategy, it is found that a hybrid trajectory with a combination of low frequency mode and rigid-body mode results in better performance and is more efficient than the traditional rigid body trajectory alone which many researchers have employed. The feasibility of the adaptive tracking control approach is demonstrated by applying it to the simplified model of robot system. For the applications of the proposed technique to realistic systems, several requirements are discussed such as control stability and large system order resulted from finite element modeling.

Time-Discretization of Nonlinear Systems with Time Delayed Output via Taylor Series

  • An output time delay always exists in practical systems. Analysis of the delay phenomenon in a continuous-time domain is sophisticated. It is appropriate to obtain its corresponding discrete-time model for implementation via a digital computer. A new method for the discretization of nonlinear systems using Taylor series expansion and the zero-order hold assumption is proposed in this paper. This method is applied to the sampled-data representation of a nonlinear system with a constant output time-delay. In particular, the effect of the time-discretization method on key properties of nonlinear control systems, such as equilibrium properties and asymptotic stability, is examined. In addition, 'hybrid' discretization schemes resulting from a combination of the 'scaling and squaring' technique with the Taylor method are also proposed, especially under conditions of very low sampling rates. A performance of the proposed method is evaluated using two nonlinear systems with time-delay output.

  • As an approach to design the intelligent controller, this paper proposes a new FNN(Fuzzy Neural Network) control method using the hybrid combination of fuzzy logic control and neural network. The proposed FNN controller has two important capabilities, namely, adaptation and learning. These functions are performed by the following process. Firstly, identification of the parameters and estimation of the states for the unknown plant are achieved by the MNN(Model Neural Network) which is continuously trained on-line. And secondly, the learning is performed by FNN controller. The error back propagation algorithm is adopted as a learning technique. The effectiveness of the proposed method will be demonstrated by computer simulation of a two d.o.f. robot manipulator.

  • The objective of this study is to find the optimal operational planning of the hybrid cooling system, which is combined by ice storage system and the absorption chiller. The optimization technique used in this study is dynamic programming. The objective function is summed cost during a day including charge and discharge periods of ice storage system and operation time of absorption chiller. Assuming that initially ice storage tank is stored fully and the cooling load is perfectly predicted for the operational planning. This method provides the most efficient and economic combination of equipment operational planning for cooling with respect to energy consumption cost.

  • In this paper, a multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) hybrid-automatic repeat request (HARQ) algorithm with antenna scheduling is proposed. It retransmits the packet using scheduled transmit antennas according to the state of the communication link, instead of retransmitting the packet via the same antennas. As a result, a combination of conventional HARQ systems, viz. chase combining (CC) and incremental redundancy (IR) are used to achieve better performance and lower redundancy. The proposed MIMO-OFDM HARQ system with antenna scheduling is shown to be superior to conventional MIMO HARQ systems, due to its spatial diversity gain.

  • This paper is proposed a fuzzy neural network controller based on the vector controlled induction motor drive system. The hybrid combination of fuzzy control and neural network will produce a powerful representation flexibility and numerical processing capability. Also, this paper is proposed estimation and control of speed of induction motor using ANN Controller. The error between the desired state variable and the actual one is back-propagated to adjust the rotor speed, so that the actual state variable will coincide with the desired one. This paper is proposed the theoretical analysis as well as the simulation results to verify the effectiveness of the new method.

  • Efficiency evaluation methods of manufacturing processes have relied on absolute measures such as defective rate and throughput per person, ignoring various process characteristics. To overcome the limitation, we propose an evaluation model which reflects characteristics of each process. It is composed of three measures : utilization, performance, and improvement. The suggested model utilizes a combination of DEA and AHP methods. The proposed method has been applied to efficiency evaluation of cellular phone case manufacturing processes.

  • Statment of problem : Little in known about the importance of selection of various double crowns as retainer in determining the outcome of treatment with double crown retained removable partial denture. Purpose : To obtain information about the effects and the results of this treatment modality. Material and methods : This study describes 61 double crown retained removable partial dentures worn by 51 patients from Samsung Medical Center, Seoul a time ranging between 6 and 48 months and evaluate occlusal contacts on the denture teeth, denture movement, incidence of denture relining, denture retention, fracture of dentures and abutments, hygiene, residual ridge inflammatory changes, number of lost abutment,. interruption of denture use. Results : One tenth of all the restorations were relined. Restorations in 21 arches fractured repeatedly for various reasons . There was no apparent interrelationship between fractures and the five groups. Conclusion : Good prognoses of removable partial dentures were shown in all groups(Kennedy Classes I, II, III, combination and few remaining abutment).
