A Study on the Design of Hybrid Cryptosystem for Smart Card (스마트카드에 적합한 혼합형 암호시스템 설계에 관한 연구)

  • Security of the electronic commercial transaction especially through the mobile communication network is gaining its significance due to rapid development of information and communication related fields. For that, some kind of cryptographic algorithm is already in use for the smart card. However, the growing needs of handling multimedia and real time communication bring the smart card into more stringent use of its resources. Therefore, we proposed a hybrid cryptosystem of the smart card to facilitate multimedia communication and real time communication.

  • A hybrid free-space-optical/radio-frequency (FSO/RF) communication system is considered, with the help of amplify-and-forward (AF) relaying. We consider various weather conditions to investigate their effects on the system's performance. We begin by obtaining the cumulative distribution function and probability density function of the end-to-end signal-to-noise ratio for the AF dual-hop FSO communication system with RF backup link. Then, these results are used to derive closed-form expressions for the outage probability, average bit-error rate, and average ergodic capacity. The results show that the considered system efficiently employs the complementary nature of FSO and RF links, resulting in impressive performance improvements compared to non-hybrid systems.

  • A Hardware system of hybrid environmental control was developed for using it in the multi-greenhouse. Now, an on/off control system is most utilized in protected cultivation, but a hybrid environmental control system is not yet. This system consists of a hardware to be devided by physical elements and a software for the hardware a personal computer, a hybrid environmental control and a communication Program for modules. The hardware was made of several independent modules with independent CPU. Each module was made to slots. which are very convenient to mount and take off. Also, they are managed easily to repair, add, remove, and change of their function and expansion. The software for a personal computer was a menu driven program written in visual basic within a Windows environment for easy applications by a user. The hybrid environmental control software have operating factors operate continuously with temperature, humidity and others in greenhouse. Communication programs were used both 485 communication method for long distance communication between modules and CRC communication method for making easy to program, and less errors between personal computer and modules.

  • Robot control system considers various requirements. Firstly, it needs adaptation for unpredictable and dynamic environment. Secondly, it needs way to make do not injurious action to human because live with a person. Thirdly, it needs processing about aim of robots. In this paper proposed that these requirements effective robot control architecture. Robot control architecture can divide Deliberative, Reactive, Hybrid. Recently, robot control architecture that come Deliberative and use hybrid architecture that apply advantage of Reactive architecture is studied much. Hybrid control purpose to combine the real-time response of Reactive with the rationality of Deliberative. Our purpose is enhancement of hybrid architecture that is studied in these days. Proposed architecture that applied human's nervous system can reduce relativity between each module of existent architecture and drive response speed guarantee and safe robot action.

Slotted CDMA_ALOHA Protocol with Hybrid ARQ in Wireless Communication Network

  • In this paper, a slotted CDMA_ALOHA protocol with hybrid ARQ is proposed for the wireless CDMA communication networks. The proposed protocol combines the characteristics of the slotted ALOHA, CDMA, and the hybrid ARQ, in order to increase the throughput by reducing the number of retransmissions when the channel experiences heavy traffic. The main feature of the proposed protocol is the utilization of the forward error correction capability to correct errors that appear after the CDMA dispreading of the packets. The base station does not need to ask so often for retransmission of erroneous packets. It will request for retransmission only when the FEC capability is exceeded. The performance of the proposed protocol is analyzed by considering the packet collision probability as well as the bit error probability. The numerical results show that the system throughput is closely related to the bit error rate of the wireless link and the FEC coding rate.

  • 최근 낸드 플래시 기반의 SSD가 상용화 되면서 기존의 HDD 저장 장치와 SSD를 함께 사용하는 Hybrid 저장장치에 대한 연구가 되고 있다. SSD의 빠른 읽기 및 쓰기 속도와 HDD의 대용량을 함께 효율적으로 사용하기 위하여 본 논문에서는 메모리에서 방출된 페이지들을 구별하여 각각의 저장장치에 저장하는 모델을 제안하였다. 이를 통하여 Hybrid 저장장치에서 SSD의 GC(Garbage Collection)을 최대한 줄임으로써 쓰기 속도를 향상시키고 HDD의 대용량 저장장치를 이용하여 전체적인 성능이 향상 된 것을 증명하였다.

  • Recently, with the interest in the 4th industrial revolution, the demand for autonomous driving technology is increasing. V2X communication technology is a core technology for autonomous vehicles that exchanges information with objects such as vehicles, infrastructure, networks, and pedestrians through wired and wireless networks. In this paper, we present the results of the hybrid V2X communication system, which is a hybrid design of WAVE and LTE, and the coverage test to confirm the performance of the system. Through coverage measurement, we show that the hybrid V2X communication performance is superior to the existing LTE or WAVE single communication system in communication coverage, so it can be effectively applied to autonomous driving services.

  • This paper introduces a ring hybrid coupler using shunt capacitors, high impedance lines and CRLH-TLs (Composite Right/Left-Handed Transmission Lines) with size reduction and bandwidth enhancement. The reduced method of line length uses to combine a short length high impedance line and shunt capacitors. Also, there is combined CRLH meta-material so as to obtain wide bandwidth of transmission line using nonlinear phase characteristic of CRLH-TL that consists of series capacitors and shunt inductors. The implemented ring hybrid coupler shows a novel design with compact size that is smaller than 10% and bandwidth is larger than 60% of conventional ring hybrid coupler.

An Internet-based Hybrid Design Methodology for Collaborative Virtual Design Studio (인터넷 기반 가상 디자인 스튜디오에서 하이브리드 건축 협업 설계 방법론에 관한 연구)

  • The rapid development of information technology has much influence on architectural design. Collaboration beyond time and space has been possible by networking the work environment and digital products. Thus, the virtual design studio on architectural design is getting more important than ever before. This research investigates a virtual design studio methodology for effective collaboration. The building design process and the communication model are studied and possible modes of design collaboration are defined. This paper proposes an internet-based Virtual Reality(VR) communication tool as well as new design methodology that we call the 'Hybrid Design Methodology'. We expect that this design methodology will dramatically increase design feedbacks, and thus results in better design alternatives. There are two issues involved in developing the collaborative virtual design studio: 1) an intuitive interface that presents collaborative relations, and 2) three-dimensional computer-mediated communication tool using sketch as a modeling method. Further research issues identified at the end of the research include developing algorithms that translate mapping images to polygons for the drafting phase in the design process.

Hybrid Communication Network Architectures for Monitoring Large-Scale Wind Turbine

  • Nowadays, a rapid development in wind power technologies is occurring compared with other renewable energies. This advance in technology has facilitated a new generation of wind turbines with larger capacity and higher efficiency. As the height of the turbines and the distance between turbines increases, the monitoring and control of this new generation wind turbines presents new challenges. This paper presents the architectural design, simulation, and evaluation of hybrid communication networks for a large-scale wind turbine (WT). The communication network of WT is designed based on logical node (LN) concepts of the IEC 61400-25 standard. The proposed hybrid network architectures are modeled and evaluated by OPNET. We also investigate network performance using three different technologies: Ethernet-based, WiFi-based, and ZigBee-based. Our network model is validated by analyzing the simulation results. This work contributes to the design of a reliable communication network for monitoring and controlling a wind power farms (WPF).
