In this paper, we have verified the applicability of the line-clustering segmentation method to steel-tube X-ray images. Image data is partitioned into three regions on the base of vertical line edge detection. Parameters for necessary condition, such as neighborlity, similarity and directional neighbor correlation coefficients, proposed in that method is calculated and applied to such selected regions separately Segmental features at each region is extracted statistically and functional classification is clustered by the point or space process. The analyzed data and experimental results show that the line-clustering segmentation method has a high applicability to X-ray image.

Inherent speed-torque performance of Switched Reluctance Motor is similar to that of series wound DC motor. Thus, the speed of the motor is extremely regulated according to load torque. For the purpose of controlling the speed and torque of SRM it is necessary to change the applied DC link voltage or the switch-ON and switch-OFF angles which control the phase current of the motor. This paper describes speed-torque characteristics of an integral horse power Switched Reluctance Motor by adjusting the switch-ON and switch-OFF angles. Speed at rated load torque can be regulated by adjusting the switching angles and the control scheme is applied to 2kW, 3 phase, 6/4 SRM.

Adsorption and ordering of methionine molecules on Ge(100) surface have been studied using high resolution photoemission spectroscopy and low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) to investigate the adsorption structure as a function of coverage. Analysis of C 1s, S 2p, N 1s, and O 1s core levels reveals quite different according to methionine coverage. We found that the relative population of the two types of thiolates induces a structural change in the ordering from $2\;{\times}\;1$ to $1\;{\times}\;1$. Such an unusual evolution of the methionine adsorption on the Ge(100) surface is discussed in relation to chemical reactions and possible molecular rearrangement on the surface.

Waste management in Jeju Province, Korea, has recently emerged as an urgent problem. The increasing waste discharge requires more landfills but, since it is an island, the available land is restricted. Accordingly, an efficient waste management urgently requires environmentally sustainable policies. In this article, the waste discharge characteristics (such as the amount of waste, its composition, etc.) of Jeju Province have been compared with those in the rest of Korea. The current industrial waste management of two cities on the Island, Jeju City and Seogwipo City, has been also analyzed to suggest policies for an efficient management. The local government's endeavor to enhance environmental awareness of the community has been known to reduce the private cost of policy compliance, and have individuals recognize the results of their policy compliance. Policies to achieve the above are then proposed.

The value of intangible assets of a company attracts attention in enterprise management environment drastically changing. Following such a trend, many companies have adopted knowledge management. Especially in construction industry of which success of a project is easily affected by the capacity of various participants and work performers, we may find many cases to which the knowledge managements have been adopted. However, the domestic design companies have tended to be late to introduce the knowledge management or have difficulty in effective use of KMS already constructed. This study suggests KMS based on BPM (Business Process Management) and drives its effects to improve problems mentioned above. We drives the expected effects by studying the existing studies and surveying domestic design companies and suggests Prototype for introducing a real system.
