  • Neutral protease which was obtained from a genus of Aspergilli as the crystal form were investigated for their purification and properties. The results of biochemical and enzymatic studies for their purification and properties in this enzyme were as follows. 1) On the wheat media containing 70%-water and $CaCo_{3}$, Aspergilus oryzae S.H.W. 131 is satisfactorily grown under the basic optimum conditions temperature $27^{\circ}C$- $30^{\circ}C$at relative humidity 100% for three days. 2) The enzyme solution extracted with water is successively purified through the passing on column of Asmti-177N for decolorization of it. And ion exchanger such as DEAAE Sphadex A-50 or Shepadex G-100 and fraction collector is necessary for the sepearte treatments of this enzyme. After washing it with organic solvents as aceton-EtOH, etc., it should be dried on the vacuum dryer at $40^{\circ}C$) The protease activity is determined by the amounts of amino acids, tyrosine. 4) The optimum pH of neutral protease is 6.0-8.0. 5) In effectively decomposing with this neutral protease, the optimum temperature is $35^{\circ}C$. 6) It is interesting that the amounts of metal ion affects the activity of neutral protease. For examples, if it were treated with manganic ion, its activity would be more effective than any other that.

  • The station relocations, the replacement of instruments, and the change of a procedure for calculating derived climatic quantities from observations are well-known nonclimatic factors that seriously contaminate the worthwhile results in climate study. Prior to embarking on the climatological analysis, therefore, the quality and homogeneity of the utilized data sets should be properly evaluated with metadata. According to the metadata of the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), there have been plenty of changes in the procedure computing the daily mean values of temperature, humidity, etc, since 1904. For routine climatological work, it is customary to compute approximate daily mean values for individual days from values observed at fixed hours. In the KMA, fixed hours were totally 5 times changed: at four-hourly, four-hourly interval with additional 12 hour, eight-hourly, six-hourly, three-hourly intervals. In this paper, the homogeneity in the daily mean temperature dataset of the KMA was assessed with the consistency and efficiency of point estimators. We used the daily mean calculated from the 24 hourly readings as a potential true value. Approximate daily means computed from temperatures observed at different fixed hours have statistically different properties. So this inhomogeneity in KMA climate data should be kept in mind if you want to analysis secular aspects of Korea climate using this data set.

  • Underground air is a special energy source in Jeju and distributes lava cave, pyroclastic, open joint, and crushing zone. A possible area to utilize underground air is 85% of Jeju except to the nearby area of Sambang Mt. and 25m high coastal area from sea level. In Jeju, underground air is used for heating agricultural facilities such as greenhouse cultivated mangos, Hallbong and mandarin orange, pigsty, mushroom cultivation house, etc. and fertilizing natural $CO_2$ gas by suppling directly into agricultural facilities. But this heating method causes several problem because the underground air has over 90% relative humidity and is inadequate in heating for crops. Mangos are the most widely grown tropical fruit trees and have been cultivated since 1993 in Jeju. In Jeju, the cultivating area is about 20ha and amount of harvest is 275ton/year in 2010. In this study, the heat pump system using underground air as heat source was installed in mangos greenhouse which area is $495m^2$. The capacity of heat pump system and heat storage tank was 10RT, 5ton respectively and heating effect and heating performance of the system were analysed.

  • King Oyster(Pleurotus eryngii) is one of the most promising mushrooms produced on the domestic farms. The quality as well as quantity of King oyster is sensitively affected by micro climate factors such as temperature, relative humidity, $CO_2$ concentration, and light intensity. To safely produce high-quality King oysters year round, it is required that the environmental factors be carefully controlled by well designed structures equipped with various facilities and control systems. In this study, we are focusing on carrying out growing experiment to find out reasonable range of each environmental factor together with economic and safe structures influencing on the optimal productivity of king oyster mushroom. The optimal productivity will be evaluated by considering the quality and quantity of mushroom production, energy requirements, facility construction and management cost, etc.

  • ${\gamma}-Radiation$ at very low doses frequently has a stimulating or hormetic effect on the growth of organism. Effects of low dose ${\gamma}-ray$ irradiation on the root growth of soybean cultivars were investigated and hormetic effects by environmental conditions were compared with the occurrence of increased economic yield, seeds of cultivars were irradiated with the dose of $0.5{\sim}20Gy$ and cultivated in growth chamber controling temperature, humidity, light, greenhouse and field respectively. To understand hormetic effect on root growth of cultivars and the difference of hormetic effect by cultivation environment, harvested root of soybean cultivars were scanned with image file, and root surface area, root length, root average diameter etc. were examined by WinRhizo program. Also, dry weight of cultivars was examined. Root growth and dry weight of soybean cultivars showed apparently hormetic effect at cultivation of growth chamber condition. In field experiment executed for whole life cycle, yields of pea were not different significantly in each ${\gamma}-ray$ irradiated cultivars but weight of one hundred peas increased in whole ${\gamma}-ray$ irradiated cultivars. Increment of yield was assumed to be induced through shortening of maturing stage caused by ${\gamma}-ray$ hormesis in early growth stage.

  • Reliability means that a product maintains its initial quality and performance at certain period of time(time, distance, cycle etc) under given condition without failure. Given conditions include both environmental condition and operating condition. Environmental condition means common natural environment such as temperature, humidity, vibration, and working condition means artificial environment such as voltage, current load, install place, hours of use, which occurs during using the product. In the field of railway vehicles, although components of railway vehicles with reliability are the trend of mandatory as persisting period of railway vehicles is extended, using components of railway vehicles is insufficient for the practical reliability assessment. but the meaning of the first railway operating agency to acquire the parts in the field, the data suggest the reliability of products if you can and can show the reliability of modular units and modular units can provide the reliability of if you can present reliability of the entire system is thought to be here In this study, lifespan of micro-switch for master controller is analyzed and prediction is performed based on its field data considering the special circumstances of railway vehicles operating agency, such as a large number of trains operates on the same line.

  • In automobile chassis system, several environmental factors weaken durability of automobile's components. The environmental factors are temperature, humidity, intensity of radiation and dust particle inflow. Especially, dust particle inflow leads to increase in friction and wear of automobile's components. The wear of automobile's component leads to increase in noise and exerts a bad influence on life of components. In this study, dust particles were investigated for study on the influence of dust particle inflow. Dust particles are collected on urban area, rural area and highway in China. The size of dust particle is analyzed using the image plus program, and the element of dust particle is analyzed using the SEM and EDX. The elements of dust particle are $SiO_2$ and $Al_{2}O_{3}$. The other elements(Na, Ca, Cl etc..) are detected on urban area and highway.

  • Usual experimental adsorption isotherms as a function of relative humidity were constructed from adsorbed water contents in soils, which were kept more than 2 days in vacuum desiccators with constant humidities controlled by sulfuric acids of various concentrations. From the experimental data, the adsorption surface areas were calculated on the basis of the existing adsorption theory, such as Langmuir, BET, and Aranovich. Based on the Gibbs function describing chemical potential of perfect gas, the relative humidities in the desiccators were transformed into their chemical potentials, which were assumed to be the same as the potentials of equilibratedly adsorbed water in soils. Moreover, the water potentials were again transformed into the equivalent capillary pressures, heads of capillary rise, and equivalent radius of capillary pores, on the basis of Laplace equation for surface tension pressure of spherical bubbles in water. Adsorption quantity distributions were calculated on the profile of chemical potentials of the adsorbed water, equivalent adsorption and/or capillary pressures, and equivalent capillary radius. The suggested theories were proved through its application for the prediction of temperature rise of sulfuric acid due to hydration heat. Adsorption heat calculated on the basis of the potential difference was dependant on various factors, such as surface area, equilibrium constants in Langumuir, BET, etc.
